It does not support 3g. Does not have a 3g modem.

OP is asking if you can plug a usb 3G modem in.
You can buy portable hotspots which you just carry around in your pocket instead of using your phone. You obviously pay a month fee for the data but it just stays permanently connected to the hotspot.

You may be interested in this post. I have not tried it for a 3G Dongle but do use AutoPatcher to add tabletUI and openPDroid to a custom ROM. Only some custom ROMs are support and I am using a CM10.1 based SentinelROM.
See: Auto-Patcher
Download the latest version of AutoPatcher
Relevant AutoPatcher feature for Wifi-only Tablets 3G Dongle (3gdongle):
This allows users of Wifi tabs to use their 3G dongles on their tablets, allowing them to have data on the go. This is a pretty involved mod, and the development is still on-going. We would like to stress that you read up at developer trevd's thread for best practices and troubleshooting. A growing list of confirmed supported dongles can be found there as well.
From what I read your 3G Dongle may not be supported and it will take a bit of learning on your part.
Good luck

Nice idea, but unfortunately you can't use autopatcher to patch any CM with 3gdongle mod.
Drivers
Hi All
I got it working on stock kernel using drivers from ppwidget forum here http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_mode...6&t=1113&sid=fb1fe2bad510613f68bc667ab53ceec5
Search for Nexus 10 on the page and download the ones for your Android version. Even though the manual test "insmod usb_wwan.ko" that is suggested on the top of the page did not work for me I got pppwidget working after a couple of tries. I can't say that'll work for you since it depends on your modem - mine is a ZTE MF820 (or something) and that worked just fine.
It's worth a shot a least. Best of luck to ya'll!
(Now if could only get it to work on SentinelROM I'd be a happy man )
You need to compile a kernel with this change...
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/31624/
and then driver found!
PPP widget works on stock ROM and clean ROM (which is based on stock and not AOSP) if you follow the steps from the ppp widget forum link posted above.

Hi,
Here is how I did able to use 3G dongle via a USB OTG cable on my nexus 10 running android 4.2.2. Unfortunately till now 4.3 doesn't support this
First Root your Nexus 10 .(Fantastic thread)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001868
Then install PPP Widget
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.draisberghof.pppwidget&hl=en
Then follow this thread (Read carefully)
http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/bb/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1113
Copy the driver files on PPP widget ----> [sdcard]/pppwidget/lib (use file explorer like to search the folder --->> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en)
Plug in the 3G Dongle using a OTG cable ,and put the correct APN ..........
And press the connect button.......
You have 3g connection on nexus 10
All above are works and copyright of respective owners.I just put the links here....

I've been installing and trying all the ICS based ROMs available here, but one of the features that I use almost daily isn't working reliable in any of them: WiFi tethering.
I have a red-lens Defy and everytime I install a new rom I wipe cache/dalvik/data and flash the required kernel as indicated (CM7/CM9). All the ICS based ROMs I've tried activate the WiFi tethering the first time, but subsequent activations do not work, It seems the WiFi driver hangs or something, because the only way to reactivate the tethering is by rebooting the phone.
Is there a solution to this problem? or is something that hasn't been addressed yet by ROM programmers?
FYI, my current ROM is Kang CM7.2 and tethering works everytime, smooth and easy!
Use wireless tether from the market. It's free and working with all ics builds. I'm using it too and it works very good.
And please, the next time you have a question, post it in the question/answer section.
Questions go in the Q&A section, not the Dev section

Thanks! I used Wireless Tether with some success on various roms (It hangs or doesn't work in some of them), but, I was trying to know if the inestability of the WiFi tether is from my phone or from a buggy implementation of it in the current available ICS roms.
This is the only thing keeping me from using ICS permanently in my phone.
Thanks for your answer!

Hi, I'm trying to use app called ShareKM to share my PC keyboard and mouse with my smartphone. Unfortunatetly, when I start the program I get a notification toast saying that unrooted device support only USB connections. Thing is, I am rooted. Other apps use root without issues, I also used Root Checker from the app store to confirm and everything is great, it's just this app that is not supported.. Any thoughts? Maybe there is another way to root Note 3? I have SuperSU.

SUCCESS! :victory: This alpha Synergy Android client works over WiFi very similarly to ShareKM. Here's how:
1. Download / Install / Configure (if necessary) the Windows x86 Synergy Server (presumably Win x64, Linux, and Mac versions should work too).
http://synergy-foss.org/download/
1.a. Support to the dev if it works for you. I am going to donate after work. Even if it isn't updated, the dev deserves support for the current functional version. Period.
http://synergy-foss.org/download/
2. (If necessary) check your firewall settings to let Synergy through.
3. Download / Install / Configure the Android Synergy Client.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/synergyandroid/files/?source=navbar
3.a. Support the dev! Again, see reasoning on 1.a. (Actually, the donation link is broken. If someone finds a functional one, please let me know.)

5. PROFIT!
--NOTES / DISCLAIMERS--
-> I am using an AT&T Note 2 running (4.3 TW) Ditto Note 3. It appears both Note 3 (4.3 TW) and Note 2 (4.3 TW) users have been suffering the same ShareKM issue, so report back if this works on your Note 3 (TW 4.3).
-> I haven't figured out if bluetooth works yet, or if it is even supported. Please let me know if you get bluetooth working.
-> For 'Back', instead of right-mouse, use 'ESC'.
-> You have to wake up the Android manually when the mouse is moved to the other screen. Extremely minor if you ask me.
-> It appears that the Android Client does not support Synergy's password encryption. Please report back if you find out otherwise.

I use it to control my Nexus 7 (2012) with rooted KitKat 4.4.2
I already use Synergy for years to control my 2 pc's. It is worth a small donation!
I never managed to get it working on stock samsung kitkat 4.4.2, only on google rom.
I have a Note 3 (900A) as well and I get the same message even though every one of my other apps root correctly.
I noticed SuperSU doesn't even have a log of it ever asking for root.
I think the problem is more than just rooting. The program USED to work in the past but I noticed after adding bluetooth connectivity and adding another ROM slot with Bootstrap it randomly stopped working..
I tried reinstalling driver but still no luck..
Synergy is too complicated.
ShareKM is just plug-in and boom instant connectivity. Don't even have to touch my phone.
Some people might like this:

Might just leave that as a tab open to type texts.
I really do miss just pressing ctrl+win tho

I have tried uninstalling the Note 3 drivers (both Android ADB and the one that comes up after plugging in) but I don't think it is deep enough because even after uninstalling in Device Manager there is no reinstallation progress window.
So... anybody know how to completely uninstall the phone drivers? lol
They seem to be really in there.
I have tried three different ROMs on my Note 2 (SGH-I317) and I get this issue on all three. It works perfectly fine on my Galaxy S4 (jfltecan) using CM11, but when i installed the same for my Note, no luck. I think its something wrong with the phone itself or how the root registers on the phone

Same with me. It works perfecty fine with my att s2 and my mom's att s4.
For some reason on my stock rom it like STOPPED working after i rooted it.
Android 4.0.4 ICS is working great on my Atrix 4G.
I flashed the official AT&T ICS for Atrix and then flashed the last Kernel build by Krystianp (2013-12-22 build)
There are two versions of kernel, I've used the version with stock voltages - link.
The things I did:
1 - Flash ICS_Atrix_leak_flashable
2 - Flash kernel (kernel-2013_12_22_atrics)
3 - Flash Multitouch-Homefix
4 - Flash Ramfix
5 - Install SETCPU
*Flash using CWM (wipe cache, data, dalvik, system)
5 - After boot, you need to get root access, use this
6 - You can remove FastDormency.apk from system/app, it give me best battery life.
7- WI-FI theter works, but you need to disable the entitlement check with Sqlite Editor in the systems->settings.db and set it to 0 from 1 and reboot.
I put the files here >> DOWNLOAD
In this zip you'll find all needed files! (ROM, Radio 37P, Ramfix, Kernel, Multitouch-Homefix, files to root(step 5)...)
For me everything works, camera, flash, fingerprint... It's really smooth!
I'm not the dev of this ROM, I'm just saying what I did.
Thanks for Devs Krystianp, Epinter, upndwn4par and others.
but i cant find the proper RAMFIX and i dont know if this http://d-h.st/HUf is the right ICS_Atrix_leak_flashable, its dated 2012-10-09
i'll wait for someone to put the files here, i dont want to brick my phone because of someone like u, thanks for nothing
You might be in for quite a wait. People don't usually like people who expect others to do the work for them. Especially on a forum dedicated to exploring and developing on your own such as this one. Also, it is quite difficult to completely brick the phone. Most caveats are recoverable one way or another.

I've got a half dead digitizer, so I can't really go digging into the camera (settings are more on the middle to upper corner of the screen, and that's where my digitizer is dead). OTG is something I haven't done yet just b/c I still need to build myself the cable or buy a cable to get that working. the kernel revision you said you have does seem to be the latest one, I haven't seen a new one get released since the 22nd. did you see the post above yours from lightlord about what he did to get OTG to work? not sure if that's what needs to be done all the time, but I'd say that's a good place to start.
