Exynos 4 Source Code [STILL NOT] Released - Galaxy S III General

"Ignore the mindless banter below. I got trolled by Samsung"
For the past two three days I've been relentlessly tweeting and spamming Samsung's twitter accounts with request to release the codes. This was just tweeted to me by @SamsungExynos .. Since I'm not a developer, I need someone to check if they have released the source code for real.. If they have, then its good news I assume?
I did a minimal check of the website, they've uploaded pdf's of each and every section related to Exynos. Developers please confirm!!
If this is not, well then :'(

I hope too! And I think its genuine because it has the code to the camera also.. I have no clue about all this..Hope the developers see this soon. And if it is for real, then we can finally have stable cyanogenmod release. I've been waiting for so long.

I'm not sure if I should've posted this in the Android development section?

Can any developer confirm if these "sources" are usefull?

Any body

I would request the moderators to pin this post if possible so that the developers can see this asap.

I don't know if the documentation is new. But there is still no new changes to the sources on insignal git repositories.

not worthy of pinning thread mate. Those are usually for forum notices / rules / etc. just had a quick look at the link and i don't see any mention of RIL stuff which is what the devs need. I could be wrong though

Look at the schedule....7 december we will know if it is enough.

Now we can expect a stable CM10 for S3

there is nothing new in the insignal git

proprietary_origen_quad-ics-dev_xxxxxx.run
origenboard.org/wiki/downloads/software/origen_quad/proprietary_origen_quad-ics-dev_20120904.run
Stuff that i havent seen on git.insignal.co.kr at ALL
But what do I know, iI'm ubernoob

As soon as you read "Origen Board" you know it'll be useless. Samsung already released source codes but there are useless since they differ to much from the real SoC's. But as Samsung will argue, they released something so they did what they promised.

Sigh

Oh well, I guess we won't get that stable anythime soon i guess. Part of me got excited when I first read the OP, now I'm just sad

Big laughs from me.
First, we had those insignal sources for months.
Second, the origen_dual/quad repository doesn't even exists.
And as "about" page says there (http://git.insignal.co.kr/?p=about) : "Note: Exynos4210 based boards are not covered by this tree.", which is bad for Galaxy S2 users.
Other sources are at ICS level, like it was for months.
Haha.

Seems that every phone will be running S4 Pro CPU's for a while. So it may be worth just selling up and getting a different phone if you really want stable ROMs
Exynos seems to be more hassle than its worth

Personally, I wouldn't want to run a SDK version of Honeycomb on my Gtablet. I want to see the real thing, and I am willing to wait for it.
For a real build -- at minimal -- the AOSP needs to be released.
i hope the devs are able to work on this soon. do they even have the time? i'm not gonna get my hopes up about using Honeycomb anytime soon though...
Yeah those smiley's are hilarious lol, but this is big news. Hope the talented folk here are able to work there magic on our gtablets.

We need your support - T-Mobile/Samsung - Give us an update!

If you want more information on this topic please visit the new, redone, 'We Need Your Support' thread at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1427969
We have gotten no news of any kind of update for our Samsung Vibrants. No Gingerbread update, not even a small 2.2.1 update, and I honestly believe that's just plain wrong. This has nothing to do with this phone being too slow or too old to run Gingerbread, heck.. it can even run Ice Cream Sandwich. And before you stop reading, no.. this isn't one of those threads that is just posted to complain, we have to do something about this. Maybe some people don't care for an update, maybe some don't understand what an actual OFFICIAL update could do for us users and devs. The lack of support for this device from both T-Mobile and Samsung has been horrible. Ask a representative from T-Mobile about an update, they'll say; Oh, It's coming.. Samsung is working on it. Ask a representative from Samsung about an update, they'll say; It's being worked on.. no ETA. So now, either both of the companies are clueless of their own product, and honestly don't know what is going on, or they just won't give us a straight.. 'No, you won't be getting an update.' which I think is dumb. I got hooked on Android because of it's openness, the support and the community. One of the only major updates that we got was through KIES, it wasn't even OTA. Maybe most of you don't care, but T-Mobile and Samsung should do right by us. I don't care about getting the latest and the greatest, I honestly would respect both Samsung and T-Mobile more if they gave us a straight answer.
So, what I'm asking is.. please help us by signing this petition and spreading the link wherever you can, because we have the power to fight this, we have the numbers and we can do it. This phone isn't super old, it's one of the best phones I've owned. Samsung did a great job with it, but that gives them no reason to stop supporting it. I got this on a two year contract, they should atleast support it for two years, and simply because it's in the Android spirit.
Link here: http://www.change.org/petitions/bri...-s-varients-samsungt-mobile-give-us-an-update
Please feel free to spread it on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, anywhere you see fit! If we get some headline news on Android blogs and sites, that'd be great, too!
Samsung and T-Mobile, we need an answer.
Will be signing this petition in the morning.

I agree, but use US adresses. This phone US only.
I think we should write about the situation in each posts in all official T-mobile Facebook, Google+, .... pages.
People need to know about T-mobile poor support and poor attitude to customers.

But like I said, keep posting, tweeting it, sharing it.
It's our turn to get something.
Great idea! I hope this will make a difference.
Signed. Really hoping we get somewhere, but won't be putting any money on it
signed and sent the link to galaxy s twitter account..they should also know what is going on
Just signed it. Also, someone should contact neobuddy89 and ask him put a link to this petition in his ICS Passion v9.1 ROM thread. If that were done then this petition will gain a lot more recognition from the community because so many people visit that thread daily.

To be honest I was expecting that the team will publish CR7 and will no more develop for SGS II.
Although they confirmed that they were working on it, thousands of people kept refreshing the thread with hundreds times a day for an update.
Anyway, no one can force them to do something, if they are not willing to.
Thanks for the all great roms till now.
I´m also very happy on Neatrom... this guy (salesale) with his dedication and support remembers me on the early phase of Leomar´s Revolution Rom, but this time is long ago and far far away ...
Can you guys please stop posting about checkrom. It's his life ,he decides what he does with his phones I guess. It is not the end of the world, God.it was clear that he stopped deving ages ago .I cannot believe stories about checkrom are still coming up. Forget all about it.Just say R.I.P and thats it.The world still goes around. There are other very good roms especially cm9/paranoid.The END.Quit.Finito.Asta la vista baby…Bye.

Bartolo,
it was NEVER the fact, that they would stop development for SGS2. If they had anounced this when SGS3 came out, pretty fine... what´s the problem? Everyone decide what and when he want´s to do. There are a lot of fantastic ICS ROM´s for SGS2.

Im not being ridiculous. I was commenting about your post saying that you dont care about US carriers. If a carrier releases a rom first we can more than likely find whats new and whether we need to bother waiting for the official update or whether we can call the latest leak MJ5 official.
And he didnt take a photo of his screen. He took the image from the site I posted a link to or similar.
Im not saying it was worth a thread being created, 1 is too many "cant wait for or 4.3 is coming soon" threads.

In the last week there have been A LOT of these threads being created. From "Someone tell me what to buy??!!!//..." to the crop of 4.3/4.4 threads that say absolutely nothing new, to the people creating Q and A threads in the General section or Rom comparison threads just for no reason.
I tried the new 4.3 Touchwiz ROM but I still think it's too bloated and it it became slow and unstable on my device.
I am now using Omni and that's really stable, fast and smooth

There will always be someone online to be a jackass to you. If you don't want that to happen, try posting your info to one of the dozens of already existing 4.3 threads instead of making yet another one.
THAT'S what pisses people off the most, you know...
