I just received my N4 from T-Mobile, and signed in with my Google account to start the "restore" process, however, half the apps would not download and show a error message that reads:
"APP_NAME" could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0])
Anybody else had this issue before?
I'm having the same issue. I'm on AT&T though.

Same issue here on ATT.
Same here on AT&T. I removed my Google account, added the account back again, and restarted. But still get the Play Store error when downloading or updating apps.

I waited about 15 minutes, then restarted once more and suddenly everything is working now. Strange.
Yep it is now working again....
This happened to me right after root. Kinda scary lol.
As this appeared to be a temporary issue of Google play which has now resolved itself, change the OP thread title by prefixing [SOLVED]
Sywepd form my DsereiS
same here.. I fixed it by adding my wife's Google account, deleting mine, rebooting, re-adding mine, and deleting my wife's account... Play store works as it should.
EDIT: good to know it was possibly an outage, but I read from other places that doing what I did fixed it, so who knows... but it works now!
I tried to download the Kindle app a couple of hours ago and got the same message, the problem seems to be fixed now
Is the issue still there as I am still getting that error message
EDIT
Removed the account and then re-added it have done the trick for me
Do what I mentioned on the previous page.. It fixed the error for me.

I have this weird error on my stock P6800. When doing a sync with my google account, I get a Google sign-in error and need to enter my password. My password is not accepted, although in my I9100 it works fine.
Even with this google sign-in error, I am still getting my contacts, gmail, drive, calendar and g+ correctly synced ..... it's that annoying little triangle error that bugs me.
Tried to uncheck items to sync but still getting that error. Anybody else having this before I wipe everything to factory?
Same thing happened since yesterday. It started just after updating the new G+ apps. I thought it was due to my fiddling with 2-step authentication setup, but nope, that wasn't it. Tried reset/reinstall everything. Also tried changing new password. Same thing happened again after installing with the new G+.
I just turned off background sync for G+ (and leave other google apps as-is), and it seems did the trick to stop the error popping up. This is not exactly an answer, but simply a temporary workaround until google comes up with update to fix.
(This problem is not limited to any particular brand of android phone or tablet. Do a google search on "google sign-in error" and you may find many incident mushrooming in past day or so.)
I tried turning off sync, one item at a time. Still having that sign-in error. This is definitely affecting not all since my stock I9100 with the very same account and sets of google apps does not give the sign-in error.
Same problem here too and Problem started yesterday night here in KL. I'm using an HTC Incredible S btw.
It's getting really annoying now so hopefully Google will get it fixed ASAP.
Same here since yesterday.

I'm having the same. Had a few updates from Google and after that it started. Except from the notification still works so am ignoring it.
I think it's Firefox Sync problem
I think the problem is with the new Firefox Sync
he he I do not have Firefox on my Lenovo K800 but I still have the problem
Same here, since last night. Constant authentication errors; I can login fine from my computer and from other computers with the same password as always, and everything seems to sync fine - I still get e-mail, Reader works, G+ works...
Just ignoring it for now.
Incredible 2 on Verizon in the U.S....
Solution
I found it's a Google+ sync error. Just deactivate Google+ sync on settings and it will be OK again.
Made a lot of tests, until I found the right way.
I tried with two separate accounts and it gave me the error with all of them. So just deactivating Google+ sync made the error dissapears.
Same for me. I just uninstalled Google+ and reinstalled it, and sync is now possible without error.
Google fixed this error
This seems to be fixed before the Google+ update last saturday. Glad we didn't factory reset
Same thing happened to me. I thought my account was hacked so ichanged the password but the error still persisted so i just let it be, after some updates with Google+ the error is now gone.
With the last revision, I have no sync error, but I can't open Google+, because as soon as I select the account, it tries to connect but gives an error "Without conection", and then a forzed close window. So I've got not sync error at this moment, but can't use Google+ too :crying:
This issue just started up again and I do not have google+ or firefox installed. Any solution that actually works?

My Nexus 7 was updated a couple of minutes ago (through the OTA) and after it was complete I headed to Google Play online (on my computer) and my Nexus 7 wasn't listed as a device. I am able to read emails, install apps etc. on my Nexus 7 but it just doesn't show up on my devices. Any ideas or how to fix this? Thanks..
I had the same problem I sorted it by first trying to see if I could log into Google talk, it failed so then I went to accounts and removed my Google account from the device then I rebooted and added the the account again then I was able to log in as normal hope this helps ya.

Yes this did the trick. Thanks...
To stop my Google Play from stopping whenever I tried to open it, I had to remove the Play apk and odex from /system/app and replace with the apk I extracted from the full 4.1.2 system.img.
Sounds like you removed from your device from Google Play, as many did before you, by clearing Google framework. Just waiting a bit would've fixed it just as well. Aside from not seeing your device, your emails aren't pushed to it either for a while, it only does a man refresh when you open it.
I've been unable to run the YouTube app on my N10 for the last few days. The UI launches, but I see a message saying "An error occurred" during the sign on process. I've tried clearing data & cache and reinstalling. I'm the primary root user on the tablet, and can access all other Google services. I have two other users setup, and neither of those have the problem. A Google search for this issue hasn't been fruitful. My wi-fi data connection is solid. Anything else I could try? Anywhere I could look at the logs?
I just started having the same problem on my Nexus 7. Worked fine earlier today, but now I keep getting the error occurred message when trying to sign in. All other google services seem to be working fine. Tried uninstalling, removing account, etc., no dice.
I ended up having to do a Factory Data Reset to fix it.
Weird. I happened to have a backup of the old version so I loaded that up and it signed in no problem! Don't know what's going on here, guess I'll stick with this for now.

Have you guy tried just wiping the Cache of the app? It fixed the same problem for me once but on my gs3.
I also have an SGS3 and I don't know what else to do. Every time I tap on "Log In" I only get "An error occurred"...
Clearing app data didn't help for me. Like the other poster, I could log in using the original version of the YouTube app, but not the latest. Only a FDR fixed the problem for me. So unless someone can address the core issue, you're stuck using an old version or doing a FDR.
Sorry, but what is FDR?
Factory Data Reset
Thanks. So, what's the error's origin?
at my app too
I have a SGY and i flashed a custom rom and at my YT app it shows "An error occuped" too. I cleared the data and cache but it still shows the error. I NEED HELP!!! sry for my english
I'm having this same issue, except on my Galaxy S II. I'm running CM10.
Same thing; "An error occurred", won't allow me to sign in. Previous versions of the app work just fine. Extremely frustrating, and nonsensical as it worked just fine a few weeks ago. Please help!!
Same error on my Note2 & Nexus7. Both are running custom ROMs. On the Note I'm able to sign in to an older version of the app (4.2.16) but still get an error. Getting a bit annoying now.
but my real Big problem is with GooglePLAY
Has this been solved? Getting the same thing on i777 Samsung Galaxy S2. Uninstalling youtube updates solves the problem. However I keep getting reminded by Play to update youtube app.
I have always had this problem with the N7. Like previously stated, some older versions work tho. I've started keeping a version which works in my Dropbox. After rom update, etc I install that version straight from DB. I get the Play Store constant nagging to update to ignore, but at least I have a usable version. Which Google would get it's **** together!

Have any of you ever used 2 step verification? Ever. After loads of pissing about, trying different things I eventually got it sorted by removing all the apps I had set up for 2 step about a year ago. I also removed a heap of apps from the Connected Sites, Apps and Services page of my Google account. (click profile pic>Account>security>2 Step Verification settings>Manage application - specific passwords). If you have any apps in the application specific passwords section, remove them.
If you've never used 2 step verification, try revoking access to some apps from the same page.
This worked 100% for me, can't guarantee the same for you. Good luck.

I've been having exactly the same problem. However, I have several Google accounts so I tried to logon using a different one and, lo and behold, it works perfectly with the other account. But go back to the falling account and the error comes back. Switch accounts, it goes away. So it definitely has something to do with the account.
In my case, the one failing is the main account that I use for everything. It would be interesting to see if other people have the same behavior. So far, I'm still having the problem...

Just for the benefit of the next person. I tried almost everything to solve this problem, to no avail. What I didn't do was a factory reset, as I believe (based on my previous comment), that it was an account problem somehow, since I could log on ok with other accounts.
How it inadvertently got solved? Well I noticed that if I tried to sign in, I'd get the message "an error occurred", but my "what to watch" recommendations matched that particular account. So I went to somebody's channel and subscribed and boom, suddenly I'm in ok, no error displayed.
Would anyone with the problem try that and report? I can now sign in and out without a hitch.

One fix that may work for you guys that worked for me is to uninstall updates to the youtube app in settings>>apps.
New update seems to have broken a lot of things with the app

Hey guys. Cam someone help me figure out a fix for error 927 in the play store. It won't allow me to update or download any apps. Some times it will work but man its driving me nuts. I Googled it like crazy and none of the "fixes" i find work. I talked to Google support today and that was a huge waste. I created and new Gmail and bam all is good but the biggest problem is of course all my paid apps are attached to my original Gmail. Does anyone know of a real fix or am i just out all the money I've spent in apps since 2009?

Wow that is weird if it is tied to your account specifically. Let's narrow it down to see...
Update apps on different network connection. Try both 4g and over WiFi/secondary WiFi. Does error still occur?
Force stop Play Store, Google Services Framework, and Google Account Sync. Uninstall Play Store Updates, and clear data within each app/service. Reboot the phone. Does error still occur?
Remove your account entirely from your phone and add a different account, reboot phone. Does error still occur?
If you have 2 accounts setup make sure you choose the account tied to those apps in the play store. Sometimes it defaults to the last one you added.

i was having this issue too and i did what you suggested and all is well now thanks
I began having an issue earlier today with Google Play where I got an unknown error 110. I thought maybe it was just bad connection, but I still had the issue on WiFi. I looked around for about an hour for solutions, and found two common and relevant fixes - clear Google play cache and factory reset. I tried the first and there was nothing to clear. I then tried to install a 3rd app and it failed to open the .apk. I also made sure my phone allowed unknown sources, and my settings crashes every time I hit security. After all of this failing, I decided to factory reset, and everything is still the same, except the Google Play error is now 406 with the same effect. Is there a good way to get this fixed?
Currently using Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 SCH-I545 with 4.4.2.

Already tried that, both before and after the factory reset. Both buttons are greyed out. I also was forced to re-add my Gmail account after the reset. Both my usual and backup Gmail accounts have the issue in the Google Play store.

I still cannot open any .apk file manually, giving the error "unable to open file". I'm not sure waiting for Google Play to update will fix this. Also what about settings->security crashing?
