[Q] cm6.1.3

hiiii hello
am running cm6.1.3 v006.....i wud like to try some othr roms tooo..can sm one help me out in hw to run anothr rom without removing cm6.... i mean both togthr

You could back up your cm rom with xrecovery and flash other rom .

Edit: Also , after you flashed other rom, you could do a backup with xrecovery of that rom.
Then you can switch between them by restoring the backup.

You definitely should try out Erickwill's 2.1 rom.

you can't run them together because there is no possibility for dual boot for now so you should do what the above poster said

[Q] Flashing Themes with Epic 4G

I recently just rooted my Epic 4G and now I would like to flash a theme. The theme I want to flash is located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1368585. I would just like to know what I need to do in order to flash this theme on my phone. If I need to download anything please posts the link as well. Thank you in advance

U jst need to be on a deoxed custom rom. Before u flash the theme u need to wipe cache and dalvik cache and that's it. Cool theme btw I'm running it since the first version

You will need to flash a ROM other than stock first. This theme requires a deodexed ROM which anything other than stock usually is. So go to Development and look through the top few ROMs and pick one to flash. I recommend Legendary or a lot of people also like ACS ROM. Then after you flash your ROM you can flash the theme.

I love that theme!
If you have clockwork mod installed, flash the latest build of either the ACS ICS or ERA ROM for EI22
I know that theme work without issue with both
After flashing the ROM via clockwork mod recovery and bootibg up to do a quick check, flash the zip file for the theme in CWM recovery
Then boot up and setup your phone to you final preferences

I use now Evo-x2.1, its minimalistic, and use a custom kernel, like Whitexp kernel, and put on powersaving governor 156mhz - 832mhz.

Repencis 3.5 advanced rom and once installed flash the new repencis kernel - fully working no bugs

i want to try to flash repencisv3.5 rom , but i already in stock rom without any kernel,i failed to install it, it says installtion abordted. make me cry ><
so i try to extract the file in my computer,and the i found it the file had break,i download it from the official repencis post,try 4-5 times already,also fail.
Any solution? =]

Use jellyblady v3 the best rom for sgy ever and it has a custom kernel (kuro kernel) it saves battery and has 3g tweaks

Yes. it can be fix. Go to HYPERION 7 GM's Thread scroll down and find the troubleshooting guide for wifi and network fix.

i encountered your problem and found out my error :
-must be ROOT
-PARTITION SD CARD (optional)
-install ROM's via CWM
-download again the .zip rom
Questions :
1. Did u use CWM ?
You should PM the CONTRIBUTORS/THEMERS/ETC.. about your problem.

I should prefer STOCK DEODEXED ROM -more customizable
then if you want to make FREE SPACE IN INTERNAL you should download ROMODEXER
just flash via CWM

See we have stock based custom roms and CyanogenMod based roms.You can flash CyanogenMod 7 RC1 by percy.Here's the link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2328004
Or if you want to flash jelly bean style rom,flash Evo X-4.2

try flashing Hyperion ROM or Mini ROM. there two of my favorite roms

It depends on the updater-script file in the zip file of the rom.
Sometimes you have to format the data/system/cache. Sometimes you have to mount it first but sometimes you don't have to.

i still have the stock rom and twrp recovery i have never done it before i also wanted to know the benefits of this kernel thanks

You'll end up bootlooping if you don't flash paranoid android 4.0 before the kernel.

In the description it says "CM & PA Roms only!" stock is not considered CM or PA.. You have to flash a CM or PA ROM in order for the kernel to work. Like the other user above said, You will end up in a bootloop and you'll never get your phone to boot up with that kernel on stock. Flash either a Cyanogen Mod (CM) or Paranoid Android (PA) ROM first and then you can use that kernel.
