Is there anyway to get the Asus screen shot shortcut (press and hold recent apps) on the Nexus 7?

Press Power and Volume Down simultaneously.

I am aware of power and volume down, but the design of the buttons combined with the folio case make it hard to access them. I am looking for an on screen shortcut like Asus uses on the TF300. Thanks.

Do you mean something like this. I don't know if you can add to the power menus on stock.

Yes, something like that would be great.

What ROM are you using.....I doubt it is possible on stock.

You can do that with AOKP

Kaos Droid has that too.

I found an app called "Screenshot It" that adds a shortcut to the notification area. Thanks everyone for the input.
yeah AOKP has a power menu option to add it when you hold the power button, very easy to use
If your device is rooted, you can use a program called utter! (a voice activated assistant with a lot of voice commands that runs in the background). Shake your device to wake up utter! and say "Take a screenshot". Most commands in utter! do not require a rooted device but a few do.
If your ok aokp, you can change a softkey to a screen shot one. Really cool.

First, just did the OTA 4.2 upgrade and all is well... These tablets are KILLER for the $$. The only thing I have issues with is the power/volume rockers being so close together. Any apps/widgets or other suggestions for turning the tablet screen on and off without using the physical buttons?

Dunno what app can do it but I do know a magnet can.

Jklsr55, I've found this one to turn the screen off.
I haven't tried it though.
Hello all. I'm having big problems with the volume on my nexus 7. Basically the tablet just repeatedly shuts off all my volume.
I will be just scrolling around home screens or in an app and I will just see the volume slider appear on screen and the dialer going all the way down as if I was physically doing it myself.
It is so annoying and I don't know how to solve it. It happens again and again.
Please tell me there's a solution to this. I've tried turning it off and on but no luck.
Its worse now. Been happening for over a month.
Thanks for any help all.

Okay so here's the deal...everywhere I read, the way to get into the bootloader was to press both the volm buttons and power button... But strangely on my device I get into BL by pressing only the volm - and power button....so wats the deal here ??...any explanation anybody??
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
That's the normal way on our nexus devices. Pressing volume down (vol -) and power to boot into bootloader

So I picked up my nexus 7 after a week of not using it and connected it to a charger. Nothing happened, not even the battery icon to show its charging. Left it on for 6 hours, still nothing, doesn't even power on. Never been rooted but I have bricked my old phone before and I can say my nexus is behaving the same way. Could it of possibly bricked itself or is this a hardware defect? I have no warranty anymore so dont suggest sending it back either. Thanks!

Inspect the USB connector for bent or damaged pins, it is likely that battery ran dry and USB is borked where it won't charge.

Any luck yet? I had the same problem once when I left mine for a few weeks.
Holding both volume and power buttons seemed to work for me.
Hope you get it sorted

There r only 3 solutions
1) Charge your nexus 7 for at least an hour
2) take out the battery and push it back in
3) hard reset your nexus 7 or keep holding the power button for 60 seconds
