Hello people, this is my first thread here on xda.
My phone is running on rom 2.3.3 Tweaky Rom. It's a nice rom.
I like the crt animation [screen off], but the sound of it is so basic and u can't even choose another one. So I decided to make my own sound.
install:
The sound is in the zip file Lock.zip, just unzip it and put in into your phone sd card.
It's an .ogg file. You need to have root explorer.
Go to root explorer>sdcard>copy the Lock.ogg file and go to system>media>audio>ui paste it right there
hope you guys like it !
doesn't work for cm7?
Star wars blaster pistol?
well I never used cm7, but as long as you can go into the files, it should work...

WOW, very good!! Thanks a lot!
Can u post a video, so we can listen to his sound?
Well, I would like to do it, but then I've to upload it on youtube and stuff..
You can just download it, it's not that big and play it at your pc as a sound file.
If you then like it you can just put it as the screen off sound
Thanks for the effort...
Im helping some of my friends out because they didnt know how to change the unlock and lock sound, im sorry if there is already a post about it. first and formost i am not responsible for any damages done to your phone.
what you will need:
the sound of your choice (any kind of file)
ogg converter (google it and you will find it)
root explorer
and you must be rooted to do this!
1) convert the mp3s or mp4s etc to ogg file..
2) once finish rename the file as Unlock.ogg or Lock.ogg ( capital the U and the L)
3) put it in your sd card
4) open root explorer
5) find the file, hold it and copy the file
6)push the bac button and make sure it says "mount r/w"
7)go to "system"
8) go to "media"
9)go to "audio"
10) go to "ui"
paste it and a message about overwritting the sound and click yes
test it out... if i was able to help you please push the thanks button

Simple way to increase your volume.
Im pretty sure you won't brick your phone but please do this at own risk I take no responsibility for your actions.
Make sure you are on a rooted device lol how else would you have 4.2.2.
Download the file
If file name is to3g.txt rename it to to3g
Copy file with a file manager ( I use ES with root permission)
Go to /system/ect/sound
Delete the file called to3g
And click paste and the new one should by magic appear.
Change permissions (hold you finger on the file) to rw r- r- ( mine looks like this rw r--r--
And then delete the new file to3g.bak if it appeared. If It didn't then you should still be OK so long as you did all steps.
Reboot and hey your phones louder.
Get noozxoide Eizo rewire pro and you have a loud kick ass phone again.

What you did was change sound file to go above 50/55 to 63 there for making it louder. If you get the noozoxide app that will then help with equalization of the volume and more.

Once u restart after deleting the ringtone files, they will appear in Sound settings. But, selecting any deleted ringtone will play the default ringtone sound. (the same tone which plays when u select a ringtone in SD card and remove/unmount the SD card and get a call)
This free app can be used to remove the ringtone ; the ringtone name also gets deleted from Sound settings.

So my tmobile v20 is rooted, and I would like to change timer sound. Is it possible?
Thank you
Ofc. It's also possible without root.
Simply add your tone to /sdcard/Alarms/
But you're on about Timer. My bad.
1. Pick the sound you want
2. Rename it to Timer.ogg
3 with a root file explorer navigate to system/media/audio/alarms
4. Rename the Timer.ogg file in that folder to Timer.bak
5. Copy and paste your Timer.ogg Into that folder
6. Profit

Thank you guys. I will try it.
Works perfectly. Thx again.
Glad you're sorted. It's easy once you know how.
