Any idea when the charging orb will be released? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm thinking of buying a bumper, but I'd prefer to buy it at the same time as a wireless charger to save on shipping costs. Should I just buy a bumper now or do you think the charger will be released soon?

Have a spare, sent mine back twice and got a charger each time.
i have an extra one
Go buy a charging dock from Verizon. It includes a standard charger and they are on clearance right now for $9.97. Even if you don't use the dock it'd chapter than just buying the charger which for some reason is still $30. I also heard Staples had Xoom accessories on sale for super cheap.

I can't use eBay looking for someone with an extra for sale

I have one but it probably wouldn't be worth it to you by the time shipping costs are included. As stated, just go to a Verizon store and get one for 10 bucks.

I know the OP was able to grab what they needed from Verizon, but for others who may be looking, another option is the HD Speaker Dock. If you can FIND one, they're going for $20 new from Verizon as clearance (prolly to make room for the Xyboard accessories). I went in person to a VW store and lucked out, getting the last one they had. I don't think (not willing to try it) you can plug the more powerful power source straight into the Xoom itself as an alternative to using the dock, but I have to say having the HDMI port in the back of the dock and the speakers is pretty nice, at $20 a pop.
I picked up a couple at a local Staples for $1.50 each. I have one extra I don't really see using.
If you're local in central CT I'd happy to give it away to someone who would use it.

Wireless charging

Has anyone heard anything new on the wireless charging? Just wondering if we have to purchase that afterwards. Would love to have that feature

Wireless charging is included inside the phone. But it won't work without the wireless charging dock. Which is still not available. And no price has been announced yet either

Since the Nexus 4 uses Standard Qi wireless charging, I suggest going onto amazon and buying a Palm Touchstone wireless charger.
I am under the assumption the wireless orb originally made for this product will be extravagantly more expensive in comparison to the Palm Touchstone.
I ordered mine off Amazon for around $5.30 with shipping and tax and it arrived 3 business days later.

the Palm Touchstone wireless charger does not comply with the QI standard and therefore does not work with the nexus 4, as per:

I thought it won't work with the touchstone per androidcentral

I'm pretty sure I've read from somebody who has the N4 and the touchstone, they don't work.

Sorry, my misunderstanding. I was under the impression the Touchstone charger was Standard Qi
Yeah the Palm Touchstone doesn't work. Sounds like you wasted time and money

I did the same thing with jumping the gun on some touchstones. Not a big deal as I'm doing the wireless charging palm mod to my Gnote 2. I also picked up the PowerMat 2 position with powercube on amazon for like $20 or something. I'ts QI compliant and should work with the nexus 4. If not I'm giving up lol

According to powermat's online chat tool person powermat's format is NOT qi compatible. Dont feel bad, I bought one of the powermat pads hoping it would work too and returned it already.
The LG 700 mat sold by verizon IS, along with energizer qi pads.

I think official products are there.
And this works, but a bit pricy:

As well as Nokia's set of new chargers, which also are pricy.

generic ebay qi charger for $16.84

Anyone with experience with this eBay Chinese qi charger.
I've been looking at the $25 metrans models, but this might be worth a gamble.

I was just checking those out and went to you-tube to look at some reviews. If you search for "Ebay Qi Charger" you'll see a lot of reviews that speak really poor of it. I've decided to not get those models b/c of said reviews.
Check this video - seems to be the same charger.
I recommend you to spend a bit more money and get the LG WCP-300 instead.

Need replacement battery recommendation for Tab A sm-t550/555

Just recently bought an SM-T555 for a steal on Ebay, it's mint condition and works perfectly except I bought it with a known display issue.
Basically it had what looked like a large pressure mark on the lcd screen (looked like trapped moisture).
Upon further investigation after disassembly it seems the battery has swelled causing pressure on the screen.
Has anyone got any suggestions for a cheap but decent replacement battery where I can buy in the UK?
Looked on Ebay but I don't accept that the so called 'GENUINE' SAMSUNG batteries on Ebay are actually genuine.
However if anyone has purchased let me know.
Try buying it from Samsung?

Thing is I bought the tablet for £65 in mint condition except for the large pressure mark.
Considering the price I paid I don't want to negate that by purchasing an expensive battery.

Every thing you get from Samsung is overpriced. They get supplies from China manufacturers.
You can get almost every part with Samsung logo on it from Ebay, cheapest price is always from China.
Accessories like S Pen, Samsung sells it around $20 but you can get it from Ali Express for only $2/each.
Sending a tablet to Samsung to get a LCD replaced, you have to pay at least $250, but buying online by yourself, it only costs around $90.
A tablet with broken USB port, expect to pay Samsung over $100 to get it fixed, buy it yourself, it costs only 50 cents.

$200 Samsung Credit... #TheStruggleIsReal #ChoicesChoices

Besides buds, portable charges, wireless dock /pad charges, cases...
What did you get with your $200 credit from Samsung?
I'm struggling to pick something without having to pay any additional money.

Tab A 10.1 32GB -> Sell -> Put towards my $1400 dollar phone lol
I will get a keyboard case for my Tab S6 and probably another wireless charger... Got the Buds+ from Amazon and they are great, amazing.
I got 2x silicone case, 1x wallet LED case, 1x leather case, 1x 45watt charger.
Going to sell everything except 1 silicone case..originally thought I would use money toward 43" QLED, until I saw that samsung was screwing with us - only offering most expensive TV's. The tablets were rip-off as well, same options being sold brand new on Ebay for $50-$100 less!
