how to swap memory internal to external?

Looking at the partitions of my tab I see that the data has roughly 2 GB of space.
Is there a way to resize so that the data has only 1 GB and the freed up space can be added to sdcard?
Not sure i understand what you mean. You want to move 1GB of your internal storage to your SD card?

In the Xoom, I can transfer one single file that is bigger than 4 gb (actually 4.6 gb). It is a video file.
However, the galaxy tab would not let me do it to the internal storage. I have the T-mobile version.
Does the galaxy tab only allows you to transfer files no bigger than 4 gb, whether it is to the internal storage or the micro sd card?
Is there anyway to allow bigger file storage to the interal storage?
I think you only can use a extern SD, in a NTFS format!
Yes there is. But that involves you changing the filing system on the Galaxy tab using a custom Kernel. From the properiety RFS filing system to EXT4 filing system. The latter has file size limit of 16 TiB so you should be in the clear.
So basically you need to ask yourself if you want to flash a custom kernel or not (head to development section if you do).
As for Videos. Galaxy tab doesn't play nice with videos larger than 2 GB even on External SD card.
So i haven't been able to find anything about this topic and maybe i am just weird but because of how the note 2 sets up the storage it doesn't support apps to sd. Maybe i just use way too may apps but i have already filled the internal storage and have a blank 32gb class 10 sd card just being un used in my phone. I want to know if there is a hack to make the phone read the sd card as internal storage where everything gets stored and then i can use the internal storage for pictures and files cause i don't have many of those.

Root and use directory bind to move directories from internal to external. Will free up a lot of space.

I know the Galaxy S4 only has 9GB of usable memory but I'm curious where the remaining 6.80GB is. Even when I flash an AOSP rom, the usable storage space is still 9GB. Is it possible for Samsung to resolve this with a software update?
I believe it is stored away as reserved system memory that will be unusable. That's why I'm really looking forward to the Int2Ex storage mod.
