About the nexus 4 camrea options - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does the nexus 4 camera have an option for burst shot mode?
I know that in the htc one x you can simply long press the filming button and it automatically uses burst shot so that's a pretty awesome feature.
Also does it have macro mode?
So basically what are some other camera features that the nexus 4 have? (other than the brilliant photo sphere of course)

search.

Do yourself a favor and don't comment if you're not in the mood for helping me / you don't have any information.
I've already checked and couldn't find anything.
Since there are people here who already received their Nexus 4 I'm asking once again, can anyone shed some light on the camera features of the nexus 4? does it have burst shot or macro?

doesn't have either, just scene modes (party, sunset etc).
and bustem is correct. you would have found the answer if you searched much quicker than it took to create this thread

GS3 camera

Hey guys after coming from my Nexus which took terrible photos I would like to use the s3 to take some photos of the kids etc. I have bought photo fx previously and am wondering how this compares to the default camera app? What settings do you guys recommend like HDR burst shot etc? Thanks for any advice
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Anyone?
Why don't you try a few settings out and see what works for you? I use hdr mode for landscapes as it takes a while to merge two exposures together and kids don't tend to stay still for too long. Macro works as it should. That's about all I can tell you.

I have tried a lot of different apps for the camera, but stock seems to match or better them all for me. I am no expert but am happy with the results. As stated, hdr is brilliant for still scenes and the colours it produces are exceptional. Don't use for your kids though unless their asleep

I like stock camera too. Great images at all.

[Q] question Android 4.2 Nexus 4 360° panoramas

The new model of google smartphone.
they wirte on the selling page"Amazing Photo Sphere camera you’ll have to see to believe.
The first phone with 360° panoramas.
It’s like no camera you’ve ever seen. Up down and all around you, with Nexus 4 it’s more than panoramic, it’s like you’re actually there."
and can anyone show more about the : 360° panoramas about this phone
Check out some examples on Google+: https://plus.google.com/photos/110023707389740934545/albums/5808606988734372865
The images are only a 360°C sphere when uploaded onto Google+, on all other occasions they're just flat huge panorama-like photo's, made of 20+ photo's stitched together.
Has anyone actually managed a perfect picture using this 360 camera app?
If you check those examples. https://plus.google.com/photos/110023707389740934545/albums/5808606988734372865/5815232959605498370
This one ^ This is the similar to the result I get though mine are much worse. The bits where the parts don't match or doubled up....
When I shot a photoshere, it worked in my mobile but when I shared it to Google+, it was like just a photo, without sphere button on it. How did you do it? , sorry for the dumb question.

It's easy to get perfect if you shoot landscapes. I've got some great ones while hiking/snowshoeing. Close up objects are difficult to get right. There is a thread around here somewhere with tips on how to improve your shots. The tip I remember is to keep the phone in the same place in space and rotate it rather than you to get the shot.

This app right here. Has a bunch of awesome shots.

since asking the question I have taken quite a few of these Even on Googles how to take them decribes the camera as not being able to do close objects or people. Then I realised it wasn't me messing up

Yes, I completed the shot. It works in Gallery and if I copy it to PC and upload to G+ it works too. Dunno what went wrong with either Gallery or G+ in my mobile that prevented me from doing just that.

To get a perfect shot you need to rotate the phone about the lens, and not your body. Now do you see the problem? It's pretty much impossible to achieve without external devices.

It may have been more clear what he was replying to if he quoted the post but the point is far from nonsense seeing as it's completely true. The only way to achieve a perfect photosphere is to use the camera lens as the centre of the panorama and rotate the device around that point.
I have quite a few perfect 360° shots by rotating myself not the phone.

You can take some very good photo sphere by rotating your body, but they won't be "perfect" because you are using your body as the axis instead of the camera lens. When you view a photo sphere, you are viewing it from the center point of the sphere. If you used your body as the axis, there is going to be small amount of stretching because the photos are taken at a distance from the center point of the sphere.

Are you talking about the mini planet ones or the 360° ones?
Here's one I did rotating my body ad the axis, seems pretty close to perfect I can get.

Best Camera app?

Can someone recommend me a really good camera app which I can use instead of the stock app? I have used Camera Zoom but that somehow cuts my photos from the corners when the front cam is used.
I am primarily looking for a camera app with a timer...which it seems isn't included in our stock camera.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

I quite like Snap Camera.

If you want full control of camera parameters, I recommend Camera FV-5.
I use Shot Control, because it has full exposure controls:
- Multiple Touch Focus/Meter regions on ICS (on supported devices with Android 4.0)
- Direct access to exposure control and zoom
- One tap access to ISO, White Balance, Scene Modes, Focus Modes, and Flash Mode Settings (based on device abilities)
- Custom mapping for hardware buttons (like volume down for focus, volume up for shutter)
- Pre-focus function
It's built for photographers who know how to manipulate DSLRs.
I don't think it has a timer, though, but the Dev is super responsive so I'm sure if you requested it, he'd add it.
ProCapture Pro has it all.

[Q] Macro mode in S4

I wanna know where the Macro setting is in the camera options. If it is not there, is there any alternate option for macro?

macros was removed, its just baked into the touch focus now, just get really close and tap the subject area. I've successfully taken pictures of the pixels on my s3, its pretty amazing to be honest

Hi, You dont like the focus of s5 ? or you are talking about selective Focus ?? alternate for selecting Object and blur background you can try Google Camera
For Macro Mode you can try Macro Lense from ebay
Hope this Help
Thanks, but I would like another sultion.
Since the problem is not a hardware thingy.
When I try to capture a penny it doesn't stick with the good focus and rest the focus into foggy blurry vision
