Hi all. I need some expert help. I am not as technical, but I am willing to try. My son helped me get the MX quad as I wanted a high end Android that I could hold in one hand to replace my ageing Samsung Vibrant. I got the phone a few days ago, and it will not connect properly to my motorola H730 bluetooth earpiece. It will receive, but not allow me to make calls with the earpiece. I get a double beep when I try to press the button to dial by voice on the earpiece. I can hold the button and get it to redial only. Bluetooth and voice dialing is a must as I am on the road a lot. No problems with my headset and my Samsung Vibrant, any ideas? When connected the bluetooth settings states "connected to phone audio"
PLEASE HELP Thanks
Note--for what it is worth when the phone and earpiece auto paired, although the bluetooth device prompted for the 0000 code, before I could enter it the earpiece announced that it was connected and the phone indicated that it was paired and connected.
Wish I could tell you what's wrong there but I can't.
Have you tried asking the folks over at the official Meizu forums yet?
I've seen a bunch of bluetooth related discussions there.

I might not be at the correct Meizu help forum. Which one should I contact? I contacted one and received several replies that the phone does not support voice dialing and to download an app. I had already downloaded Vlingo, which works, but requires touching the phone--so not really handsfree, and not really through the bluetooth. Am I incorrect in expecting a phone running ICS with bluetooth 2.1+EDP to be able to both receive calls via bluetooth and initiate calls thru voice dilaing via bluetooth? I read all the reviews before I purchased from HK, and no one indicated that bluetooth only received calls. I can live with the other limitations as I am not a real customize, nerdy type; but I do need my bluetooth to phone home when I say so!!!

Come on guys....
does that mean no one using this automatic pairing ?
'm still being postive on this thread
Cheers
I would be amazed if it was true, it would be a huge bluetooth security hole if it was !!! if you can force a headset to pair with out authentication you can force anything to pair !!! are you sure you understood correctly
Don't you mean that the sound was automatically sent to the headset when a call comes in? Automatic pairing is something I have never heard of. I guess the guy paired his headset, so that when a call comes in, he hears it autmatically in his headset. Sounds more logical and feasible to me.
Why would you want to pair automatically anyway? Just pair it in the morning when you wake up, and use it all day till you switch it off. Only thing I can imagine would be battery save, but that would mean that an incoming call would have to activate both the BT on your phone and on your headset. And that is not possible, since without BT connection ( paired) no signals from the phone come to the headset.
ice_coffee -- Though I didn't see the subtle details of the mentioned software i think we'll have to pair with our BT device (proper authentication) which will be saved by the program and these details wud be used as and when incoming call comes ....
Koksie -- ur intuition is correct ....i.e. reason to do this stuff is to save battery.... bluetoooth drains exec very rapidly.....
if none of you all seen that post then i should be dreaming :!:
i'll continue my search and update the thread if i'm successful
Thanks for your inputs guys....
Cheers
Pairing is pairing but turning bluetooth on for an incoming or outgoing call is something else. PockeZenPhone has this option but it doesn't work cause it takes to long to turn on bluetooth and connect the headset before loosing your call.
Oh.. not it make sense. I think what he means is that, you had your headset and phone paired (with code and stuff). However, the headset or phone bluetooth may be off. And once there is a call coming in, it will switch on the headset/bluetooth on phone.
Hello folks, I'm happy to have found this wonderful forum.
My question is, I have had my MDA for 2-3 weeks now, just received my bluetooth hands free device (Plantronics Discovery 640) my problem is for some odd reason, I can't answer *call waiting* calls with the Discovery 640. For some odd reason I keep sending people to voicemail when I click the button on the hand free, the only way for me to accept a call waiting calls, is buy press the talk button on the phone it self.
Is there something I need to enable in order to make the phone and handsfree work as one, so I can use the button on the handfree to answer the call waiting calls? is so any advice will be greatly appreciated.

If I have a bluetooth device connected to my XV-6800, is there a setting or something I can do that will allow me to answer the phone with the call button on the phone, but have it connect to the bluetooth device? Right now if I hit the call button, it only goes through the phones speaker as if the bluetooth device was not connected. For me to answer a call using the bluetooth device, I have to hit the button on the bluetooth device.
Thanks,
Jeff
That's really strange. I know that I don't have the same phone as you (I have touch Elf). I have noticed this. When I have my device connected to bluetooth headset or my handsfree car kit, I can still hit the green call button to anser the phone when I get a call and the call is still transmitted to my bluetooth. I can even still make a call by hitting the green call button, dialing the number and still all through bluetooth.
It sounds like your device is not associating properly with the bluetooth device. Go into your bluetooth settings and check to make sure that you are connected properly for hands free - Go to settings - bluetooth and click on your device to make sure that hands free is checked.
I have also noticed that on a rare occasion, my bluetooth does not connect properly and although paired, does not transmit and sound did come through phone when it shouldn't have. To fix this, I did a soft reset and all was good. It happened to me about three times since I bought the phone in Dec 2007.

The bluetooth is properly connected. When I make a call and hit the green call button, it does go through the bluetooth device. It is only when answering a call it does not go through the bluetooth device when I hit the green call button. Yes, very strange. Oh well, I was hoping somebody might have some insight.

What radio and Windows ROM are you using? I know that some of the different ones fixed some BT issues. When my headset is connected it always goes to my headset no matter what I push. Sometimes I have it in my pocket and forget and then can't hear anything on the phone. I believe you can force it to go to your headset after answering the call though.

I am currently using DCD 3.2.6 with radio 3.37.75. To be honest I am not sure I have tried it with this combination. But, I have had the problem with a DCD rom, I just don't remember which radio.
My phone has always bypassed the bluetooth earpiece if I press the answer button on the phone and not the button on the earpiece. It did it from day one with the stock verizon rom and it still does it with my custom dcd rom.
I like the option of bypassing the earpiece to answer a call, especially in a crowd. Also I have the incoming calls announced thru the earpiece. This allows me to know who is calling without even looking at the phone or touching it to answer it thru the earpiece.
This is my insight on this. I hope this helps.
Are you using Voice Command? Is the sound very low?

Mine operates the same way. I don't beleive this is a "flaw", and may vary by type of bluetooth device being used. OP is looking for a way to override this setting / feature if anyone knows. Personally, I like the option of taking it on the phone for privacy reasons as my BT device is through the car speakers.

I agree, I don't necessarily think it is a flaw. I would prefer to have mine answer with the bluetooth if I hit the green call button. I was just wondering if there is a setting some where that I am overlooking to have it the way I would prefer.
I just tried it again with the DCD 3.2.6 and 3.37.75 radio. As has been mentioned above, it does not appear to be related to a rom or radio, it is a feature of the phone.
A friend of mine has an iphone, and when they get a phone with a bluetooth earpiece enabled, they get options on the screen which say answer, answer on phone, or ignore. Or something along those lines. I like having those options, but understand if it is not available on the 6800.
Thanks for all of the replies.

I have a set of bluetooth earphones that are capable of both audio and hands-free, but I only want to use them for audio. This is easy, as you just untick the hands-free option when you pair them with the phone.
However, when I turn the earphones on the phone pops up a message saying "the device is trying to connect to use a hands-free headset or car kit with your phone". I then have the option to accept or reject this pairing. This happens every time I turn the earphones on, so it's getting quite annoying (especially since I turned off the hands-free option when I originally paired!)
I simply want to stop this message popping up, so I need to know if there's a way of making the phone automatically reject the request for the earphones to act as a hands-free kit.
I've been all through the bluetooth settings and didn't find anything, but I'll ask the question on here in the hope that someone else has some ideas.
Thanks
Hey john, can't help you on this one m8.
Just needed to comment on how strange it seems you asking the forum questions instead of everyone asking you, and you sorting out our problems.
Good look on your quest
Heh - cheers mate. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Can't really help you but I can tell you what I have seen ...
I have a rocketfish BT headset ....
once it is paired and I authorize the connection, I can shut off either or and it does not ask me for the other, it will connect to the headset if I hit a "media" button on the headset though ...
I wonder if the device you are using is "Asking" to reconnect even though it is already paired ...
just my .02

It only asks me to accept or reject the hands-free connection - the audio connection just connects. I believe it is the earphones that are trying to connect as a headset, so I just need a way to tell the phone to automatically refuse that connection, just like it automatically accepts the audio one.
This is after I've turned off the earphones, and then turned them back on again, like the first time I've used them in a day. It's not during regular use.
Grrrr
I think this may have more to do with your particular headphones than the HD2. Meaning your headphones just don't quite match up with the HD2's wonky bluetooth implementation. I use a cheap bluetooth stereo receiver from DealExtreme. I don't know the model, but it shows up as BCK-08. It can pair as stereo audio or handsfree. I have it set to do both, and I never get a pop up like that. Can you do that, or do you specifically want to disable hands free?
PS. This title was funny. When I saw it on the main HD2 page it said Bluetooth - stop asking... I was sure that it was going to say stop asking how to control other media players, besides Sense, with a bluetooth headset. This still isn't possible right?
Has anyone been able to do this on our Lavender phones? If so, please provide instructions on how this is done and what headset you are using.
I work outside and my hands are usually full or dirty, so it would be great to hear the name of the person who is calling me through my Bluetooth headset. At the moment I only hear the phone number, even when the person calling me is in my phone contacts, so I have to take out my phone and look at the screen to see who is calling.
I've been Googling for ages and tried several apps but still can't get it to work over Bluetooth. Actually, I've never been able to do this on any Android device but I'm sure it's possible!
I'm currently on the latest Pixel Experience custom ROM and I've tried with several headsets, including Jabra, Sony and cheap Chinese Bluetooth 5.0 devices.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Anyone?
Solved!
OK.
So, in case anyone's also interested in this....
I eventually found a solution using Tasker and BlueTask plugin.
I can confirm this definitely works on Lavender Android 10 custom ROM and a cheap Chinese Bluetooth 5.0 headset.
My headset announces the phone number of the caller automatically and this can't be turned off, so I've set a delay in Tasker of a few seconds so the caller name is announced after the number.
The ROM I'm using (Pixel Experience) supports Bluetooth in-band ringing, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference, but in theory this solution should work on any decent ROM and Bluetooth headset or car kit. :good:
I have installed tasker and bluetask...please explain how to do this
