When is this 4G /LTE marvel from google going to be be out?
Maybe in January? and with 4gb of ram...
The nexus 10 will never have a lte version.
It's possible they will come out with a hspa+ gsm version like with the nexus7.

you never know. I dont see why the nexus 10 wil not have LTE. the manufacturer is Samsung and all samsung tablets have LTE version.
I wouldn't get your hopes up for this.
Nobody knows for sure, but i wouldnt expect anything new for at least 5-6 months
Considering they aren't planning on releasing an LTE version of the Nexus 4 and their vocal stance on the status of LTE, I doubt it.

The SGS2 is 4G. Can you explain why the US carriers wouldn't have a 4G version of the Note?
I don't see that as realistic.

Let's put it this way. There has not been a LTE Galaxy note pass through the FCC. The only one that has, comes with hspa on ATT frequencies with no LTE. This means that it will be a minimum of a couple months if ever, that there is a LTE version of the Galaxy note that will work on the US LTE (Verizon or ATT) frequencies. It will have to pass through the FCC and then the cats out of the bag.

Good point. I hear that Att's HSPA+ is really fast though.

Well, it depends where you are. In Louisville, ATT is the slowest of the major carriers at around 3.5 mbps down and Verizon is the fastest with LTE pushing 12 mbps down.
I would go into an ATT store where you are and run the speedtest app on a phone labeled 4g (hspa+) and see what you get.
On 3rd Nov Samsung Galaxy Note London show they said there will be two version of Galaxy Note: LET and HSPA+. So, you have to choose one from them and there is no combination of LET/HSPA+ on a single phone. And, they never talk about NFC anywhere.
siamchen,
About your comment; I think it was a bit confusing comment on the London launch. It was stated that it was either a HSPA+ or LTE - but will both version have HSPA (the slow 3g)? I can't find that information anywhere. Anyone know?

I think both versions will have HSPA and what distinguish one from the other is the LTE

Well now that they have been announced I have a questions are there any differences between them ? Will they both get the same Dev support ? I made the mistake of buying the galaxy 2 from tmobile and worse decision I ever did had to get rid of it and buy a gnex since the support for the galaxy s2 was the worst and always behind..... Since I have tmobile might ass well use one of my upgrades and save some money on the lg4 just making sure I won't be stuck getting late updates or have luck of support like some people with the Verizon galaxy nexus are having but I understand why since they are using lte which changes the phone around......
thanks for all the help in advanced
There literally is no difference other than the contract you sign.

NO! Pay $150 more to not have to worry about a contract, PLUS pay less with a Value or Pre-Paid Tmo plan.
It is too soon to tell if there will be a software difference. Anyone who says differently needs to provide a link showing proof.
The hardware will be the same.
Actually, it seems that the T-Mobile version will have 42mbps HSPA+, while the version in the google play store only goes up to 21mbps HSPA+.
Other than that, I would assume they would be identical.

FFS people. There are not two versions. It has 8GB or 16GB, those are the SKUs. They're both 42mbps HSPA+.
Google's own Play Store had a typo. It's even been fixed there: https://play.google.com/store/devic...wNV9uZXh1c1VTXzFfcHJvbW9fMTM1MTUyODMyNzI1OCJd
It's DC-HSPA+ 42mbps.

My bad, I saw the 21 earlier and I thought it was some deal between T-Mobile and Google. The Galaxy Nexus international and US unlocked versions were identical hardware-wise, and since there won't be a CDMA version, there shouldn't be any differences with the Nexus 4

Not hardware-wise, but there could be software-wise.
Look at all the yakju variants, which are identical hardware, but different software.

i know everyone is all omg the nexus 4 doesn't have 4g LTE but do you think that later on they will make a LTE version? Wouldent google make more money off the nexus 4 if they did have a lte version? after all whats the point of all that hardware if you cant download and watch videos super fast
I highly doubt it since Google wants this to be a world phone.

I'm interested in this too. Would love to get a nexus 4 on Verizon with LTE. And if the software updates came strait from Google, it would be fantastic.
Its been said that no. No LTE version at all. But that's fine for me. The Galaxy Nexus is still a pretty good alternative.

Nope, LTE is to much work on Google's end. Look at all the hussy behind the LTE version of the GNexus. Google wants this to be a world phone. having LTE would cause way to many issues. You have to partner with carriers, and allow them to handle updates. It adds bloat, and wouldn't be an AOSP phone.
Look at this. It's a link to theverge explaining all of this.
Verizon don't co-operate very well with OEM's. There's probably a high chance they will put a locked down bootloader on a Developers phone.
Also why do you need LTE when you look at how fast T-Mobiles 42mbps is. My wifes Note 2 gets 20mbps on avg in Minneapolis area. So there is no need to over pay for Verizon and LTE.
What are your guys views on whether or not Google will cave in and release a LTE or 32gb variant of the LG nexus 4? share your thoughts.
I just don't see it happening....really doubt it!
Highly unlikely.
4G is useless with my country ( Vietnam )
i think the 32gb variant is a much bigger possibility. they did that with the nexus 7... why not the lg nexus 4?
well with the issue of LTE, very unlikely. but im kind of on the fence with the 32gb idea. true, they did release a 32gb version of the nexus 7 after getting rid of the 8gb variant, but in the case of the galaxy nexus, the never release a 32gb version. i know the nexus 7 is more recent, so google might go about the nexus 4 like they did the nexus 7 (releasing a 32gb version later), but the case of the galaxy nexus, in my opinion, is more closely in-tune with the nexus 4 (as they are both phones). honestly i just dont know and its killing me cos i really want this phone! the lack of memory is the only thing stopping me from buying this on release day

I think that the nexus 7 is the reason the nexus 4 will not have a 32gb version.

Never thought of it that way...but that makes a lot of sense.
LTE and more memory can be done if LG are pushed hard enough for it. It maybe in the pipeline already, take samsung for example when they enhanced the nexus s with a 4g version.

32GB? Very possible.
LTE? When hell freezes over and pigs fly.
32GB? Maybe, although they didn't do it for the GSM Galaxy Nexus, so I wouldn't bet on it.
LTE? No chance.
There will be a 32GB Nexus.
There will also be a 64GB and 128GB Nexus (128GB memory chips are already in production)
The Nexus will have LTE
However, it will most probably be called the Nexus 5
They did that to the Nexus 7.Its a possibility but i don't think there would be LTE.
Let's hope And LTE is too expensive or not available for most countries anyway :good:
For more memory u can just a OTG available for a couple of dollars on amazon, ebay and use STICKMOUNT. Memory no issue
LTE only popular in US and only if u use AT & T else no use...
The price will increase by fifty dollars if memory is increases and another 100$ if LTE is included, which would take the cost to 500$, which wont be soo attractive as the 349$ tag
No LTE
If you want LTE you're going to wait for the LG Optimus G.
The phone is a world phone and will be very popular overseas where most countries don't have/don't care about LTE. I doubt we'd see them go through the hassle as that would require a different soc to include the LTE modem

Considering Sprint eventually got the two Samsung Nexus devices, I wouldn't be surprised if someday they get an LTE Nexus 4. And considering the CDMA Galaxy Nexus models were 32GB, there's a good chance said Sprint Nexus would also be 32gb. Dont expect it for quite a while after launch though.
Verizon or GSM LTE though? Nope lol.
Hey guys, Im just wondering if LTE has been enabled on the new Android 4.4 Kitkat update. As we all know google had eliminated the LTE capacity on the N4, its only been achievable by using hybrid radios. Any news about this would be awesome. Thanks!

it would be illegal for google to activate lte on the phone. the fcc never approved lte for the nexus 4, that means itll never ever get official lte.

Also, the hardware doesn't support all the LTE bands currently in use (or it's missing an amplifier for some) so it would be a half-measure anyway.
