Hi all! I created this thread because my PM inbox is flooted with questions and reported bugs in our (GM) ROM! so if you cant post on dev-section use this instead of PM'ing to me ;-) you can also report your problems here if you have over 10 posts so ask questions, report problems and enjoy our POX!

Partitions and some bug
I am on pox 1.0 non oc. Has tested 1.o beta OC., had too much battery drain so preffering non oc. Now want to upgrade to 1.1 non oc. Can you post some clarity about partitions. I have ext4 and swap partition on my SD card. Changelog for 1.1 says ext2 support for cache, so do I need ext2 partition, if yes what size. Moreover please confirm Email clint on 1.1 b'coz didnt find any in 1.0. Also please check that the times tends to reset (to GMT) in 1.0 on restart if automatic updating from serbvice provider is unchecked.

think greenmods forgot his own thread

I flashed pox 1.1 non oc over pox 1.0 non oc. found some bugs. after using theme changer to change theme, sd card scanning starts. the scan process takes upto 45 mins to compete

phone resets to russian lang after application of new theme

miui was force closing again and again,anyways i don't like it so i removed it but what's the music player.apk file in system apps???

for me MIUI music works good and nobody else has confirmed this problem?
i dont have those apk´s in my /system but yes you can remove them
+30 mb free memory in /system

my bad it is sondplayer.apk and not musicplayer.apk
BTW i just removed a few apps and i got 57mb free

yes i ment that in 1.2 there will be +30 mb

is ur sd card inserted for miui? Without sdcard it fc with me

Can't post, that's why I'm posting here. My new custom rom is coming soon, it will solve ALL the problems (no, seriously it will be good )

What? Seriously why are you posting this on our (GM) ROM thread? This is only for POX problems! Not to advertise new custom ROM! And we are also solving these problems

Hi Folks!
I'm new here, german and cant post in the thread for the rom, but i have a few questions
I hope i dont spam, but its difficult to do everything right in this huge forum, so please be patient.
so please can you help a newbie in this forum? :victory:
and may you can give some hints for working the phone stable and smooth? read some posts about overclocking (up to 780mhz), but it doesnt work well for me (highest is 690 mhz or something that works stable... how do i find out?) and i dont know if i use the tools the fit the most

Does your GPS work? My phone freezes everytime i want to use navigon etc.
Didn't have that problem on other roms

lol..why use that .. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1550469 ...for me its the smoothest...everything works well

For me sdsl2.1 is best with 2.6.29revo kernel even battery last for about 2.5 days

wingrime's ROM is very popular in other forums and there's a reason for.
everything works! especially camera libs are much better and .35 is rocking on there. and it isn't slow because it has got bad results in Quadrant.

yeah using this too and its very fast, even after many hours of usage (this is my problem with SDSL)

well for me some bugs that stopped me using it, but its the fastest ( with .35) i think
Conclusion: every ROM of these is very good. Great work everyone

i made a mistake
gps does work on other roms i tried (aokp 4.0.4 asis by ??? (dev swift), swiftdroid 2.0 asis by mur4ik), but bluetooth calls NEVER worked. the other person on phone hears me, but i hear nothing (as i said: music works) this is not a problem of the headset, because it works well on my laptop and other phones.
will give the other roms a try, a little bit sad, the openswift was the best rom i ever tried but i need GPS!
never had a so fast rom and so much space for system and ram
maybe it depends on my swap? never had it till this rom
a question about swap: more = better? have 1gb swap now (highest in recovery i think)
do i have to make a new swap when i change rom?

Swap is like virtual ram it push proceses that you dont use on swap part and frees up the ram
1 gb is more than enough

1 GB is wasting SD memory
i an currently using 64 MB because my system usually needs around 20-40 MB Swap
only games like GTA 3 need so much memory, but you won't be albe to play these games smooth.
many people complain about BT headsets, most ROMs have problems. you should try some older releases, some of them have it working
(i think about SDSL 1.1 , maybe it'll work)

if it doesn't work try some other ROMs (maybe devswift's oxygen, some froyo ROMs etc. )

great, tried it but i sadly i removed cache and userdata
now i have to install all apps a 2nd time i think
about swap: can i change the size without a new installation of the rom?

tip: use titanium backup! it saves all apps with their userdata
to change the swap size just use CWM again. but save your SD-card files first

yes, was a stupid mistake not backing up my data before :cyclops:
first test (using navigon 4.1.3)
first try: freeze
second try: works
again about swap: what block size do i have to use? 4k? 32k? other?

just BackUp, and resize with CWM ; its formatted automatically.

will try swap 128mb and 150mb system partition (because there stands nothing about needing more space for system on the phone, right?)

okay did it with 160mb system and its working
till now its all fine, not so smooth but ok
gps is working, camera not so good... tomorrow i will try bluetooth

I wanna ask about miui rom from here http://www.miui.com/download-14.html .author gt-bluesky ,does it work like other rom with 3 option ?(nand,nand+dataonEXT,and Native SD) or does it only work with t-mobile version ?im sorry because i was so confuse for look their forum LOL

You can check yourself. Unzip rom file and look system folder's size, it is system partition size, i suggest to add 5 or 10 mb too for bad sector. Sorry for my English.
By the way, it doesn't work for me (v3.5.17), always restarting. I could'nt access desktop.

My sys-partition is 230. But I deleted some unnecessary things (live wallpapers, boot animation, calculator....).
Until now every version from "gtbluesky" works flawlessly for me.

I have the T-Mobile version, so everything is on NAND.
Rest of my config: magldr1.13 & 4ext recovery

I tried. I used 280 system partition. If you have class 10 sd card you can use your sd card's ext partition as internal memory with this script: initrd_patcher_v2.zip. Everything is fine. v3.5.17 didn't worked because i think it's a bug. Because every older and newer version worked for me but 3.5.17 didn't worked. Sorry for my english.

Well, the screenshot is blank!
Try updating frm Play store. And if its galaxy y, try deleting com.instagram..... folder in sdcard/Android/data . Hope it will work! Well, i am regular instagram user,
and havent faced the prob till now!

It means you have either SD card partition, which is faulty, or no space on SD card, or maybe corrupted SD card!
If u have any memory tweak, then uninstall it! If it doesn't help, format SD card to remove partition!
(Don't blame me if you've formatted SD card & doesn't work!)
Note: I experienced same bug in Reincarnation ROM using memory script! But, after removing the script, it worked!

if on cm9 camera doesnt work and maybe it might have something to do with auto focus - I dunno really you will have to ask the app maker
try it on stock rom if you are using a custom rom or cm7/9

Change your sim card and see if the problem is still there. If no, then get another sim card. If yes, then do a clean re-install of your rom.

-Fixed. i think because i flashed too many scripts and tweaks. like velocity, thunder script, brava engine, fly on mod. btw. Thanks.

usually happens when the phone starts to lag heavily which could also be due to scripts used
