Getting Started Disc

Hi..
Does anyone know of a site where i could download the xperia disc?
I cracked mine
http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/...ea-9df9-4920-af33-3a0e2e4e7beb&displaylang=en
this will get you syncing in no time. but i dunno what else was on the disc bc it wouldn't install.
you can buy mine if you want
ooo.. I cant install that cause i'm on windows xp
but i searched on and came across Microsoft ActiveSync, which can be installed on xp, but it still wont detect my device.. When connected, the phone will charge though, but no windows pop up or anything.. On the taskbar, the USB icon will say 'your device is not recognised...'
I really need that cd, can you pls upload it if possible?
um, that doesn't have anything special in it, I poped it in and ejected few minutes later without installing anything,
be sure to get the latest version of activesync: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...FamilyID=9e641c34-6f7f-404d-a04b-dc09f8141141
also, make sure your usb port has enough power to do the connection (some "non-ac" usb hubs may fail)
lol, throw that disc, install only last version of activesync

Oh, thank you so much for pointing out the usb point.. All this while, i've been conecting the cable to the front usb of my CPU, and after your advice decided to try the rear USB port, and it works!! woohoo..
Activesync works now..

Computer problems

My computer will say the driver's are installed, but when I go under my computer to move files, there is no drive listed for my phone. Whats going on here. Using a new hp computer with windows 7. Any help here would be nice.
I have also check the device manager, It is listing it as a t-mobile slide, bla bla bla so I un-installed and re-installed, still no luck, How or what am I doing wrong that the computer isn't listing this as a drive so I can move files?
when you plug phone in, a notification should apear on phone, pull down top bar and see what the USB symbol says next to it, if it says anything other than disk drive then go to settings>connect to pc>disk drive and then hit done
I do not have a usb thing pop up n my phone n the setting are right under the phone
it should be a notification in the notification bar, if you are not getting the notification then you may have a bad port on the computer, is the phone charging when you plug it in?
Try replacing the USB cable if you plug it in and charge light doesn't turn on.
nope, tryed different ports, all are reconizing that the phone is plugged in n the phone charges
Ok, I'm going to try a different computer, I tryed here at work, the computer started installing but I needed admin rights to install hardware so I guess I will try later
Stupid question, but have you tried: from the home screen, if you go to Menu > Settings > Connect to PC, Default connection type, try setting it to Disk drive...
Yes and I have tryed turning it to sync with the program I downloaded from htc, nothing. Now when I plugged it in last night, I noticed that I plugged it into the sata port but it still regonized the phone, deleted the driver n re installed by actually using the usb port but still nothing. So I just tryed my older laptop n it installed the driver, said t mobile slide, phone was chargiing but I still ddnt have the usb pop up on my phone.
I am starting to think somthing is wrong with the phone
Ok this is weird. I used a older laptop with xp n everything works fine. What should I do or download for win 7 to work properly

USB 3.0 problems

hey guys.
i just tried copying an avi file from my pc to the phone. i had already selected Media device (USB 3.0) in the pull down menu.
first it disconnected as it had initially first connected via Media device (MTP) and then reconnected and brought the auto play dialogue up. after a few seconds it disconnected itslef again and then reconnected. it seems to randomly want to disconnect and reconnect when it wants to.
even while it was apparently still reconnected, i tried to copy a file over to it and it first said i might not be able to play the file did i want to copy it anyway, i clicked yes, then it says the device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected even though it still appears to be connected.
if i switch back to MTP it still warns about maybe not playing the file but then after clicking to still copy across, it copies fine.
i am running windows 7. i have used this usb 3.0 port fine with a usb thumb stick i have. also, windows says it has installed the device successfully when i click over to usb 3.0.
so.... any ideas why it randomly wants to dis/re connect? and why will it not copy across even when it appears connected?
thanks guys.

Make sure you have the latest Samsung USB drivers on your PC. If you think you do, I would go to the device manager and uninstall your phone from the device list and then let it reinstall the drivers. Downloading Kies 3 also installs the drivers on your PC.

thanks mate but i have already tried them.
it does charge fine so i'm not sure whether it is a power issue but the issue of it disconnecting must have something to do with not transferring anything over even though it still appears connected when i am trying.
i read somewhere that due to it's quicker data transfer, the pc and device need to send much quicker signals to each other to let them know that they're still attached. by using an extension lead inbetween the device and usb 3.0 socket i was delaying that signal sufficiently to make the pc keep thinking the phone wasn't attached anymore. i removed the extension lead and sure enough it copied across fine.
the odd thing is that both a usb thumb drive and my 2tb backup external HDD work fine over the extension. maybe the note 3 is slower at sending that signal to start with? dont know but it now works.

[Q] USB device no longer recognised

I had a major scare with my tablet.
Seemed to have bricked but then it came back to life.
However, it now refuses to connect to the computer and gives the standard "USB device not recognised" message.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the USB drivers
I have tried it on two difference computers both of which worked previously and fail to work now.
One of the computers is Win 7 and the other Win 8.1
The cables I used all work with my phone and I can charge the tablet via the cable both from the charger and the computer.
The only thing I can think of doing is a factory reset.
I have no real problem with that - there is nothing on the tablet that is not replaceable but I don't want to do it if there is something simpler to try first.

Cannot get my A1 to sync data ever show up in windows exploer any more with new cable

When i first got the phone it would have no issues plugging in and coming up in windows explorer (WE) so i could move music files over to the phone as and when i wanted but now when i plus it in i get nothing, sure it will charge but but no access via WE, i have bought 3 or 4 power sync cable and last one was a decent make being Baseus but same problem yet when i plug my phones cable it works fine, i'm running win 7 U x64 and here is a screenshot of the phones info, any suggestions why these after market cable don't work?
