Green fuzz in camera using kernel by whitexp - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

I am using a GT-S5360T which is Telecom NZ version of Galaxy Y. I seem to be able to install most custom roms released for GT-S5360 fine, but. When using whitexp kernal with stock rom or latest cm7 release I have a green fuzz when accessing camera app. I see other threads with similar problem but nothing pertaining to my particular model.
I have two questions;
1. Is this because my model has the " T " at the end?
2. How can I fix this?
If some one could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

well,
for the reason why it has that green fuzz i have exactly no idea since im not the developer of the kernel,
however,
try to use another kernel besides white's kernel,
or contact the dev or post in his kernel thread for further info
this post is approved by the national potato safety regulation

Thanks for reply. I would post there, but..

I get the " you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: " screen when I try to post in the kernel thread. I think cause I'm newbie.
I like this kernel because it boots fast, it has cwm and my boot animation and power on sound play properly. Everything else seems to work with it i.e. busy box, root browser, link2sd, superuser, sys app installer and beats audio drivers and all the standard apps that don't require rooting it is just the camera.

One thing that I can say is that your "T" isnt the cause for this. T just indicates your region, its fine to install any ROM/kernel based on S5360. You might need to contact whitexp for the solution..

I will try contact White..

Thanks, now I know my model isn't the problem I will try contact White... I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem or if everyone else has the same problem, I see no mention of it being a bug.

with CM7, you can have this error
But not with Strock rom ..
I only use my kernel and a lot of other people also not ..
and nobody had this problem with stock rom or custom roms like Creeds, repencis etc.;;

Stock rom & white0.8.0RC3 flashed with Odin3 V1.85

I can get Camera to work with your kernel by flashing the PDA and MODEM pieces of the Brazil GT-S5360B firmware before flashing the white.1.3.3 in Odin.
Only problem I have then is my phone doesn't know which way is up or down unless I turn off auto rotate. Then when I flash WhiteXP the WiFi stops working.

Does any body know how to fix the problem with the screen rotation?

[Q]Circles after installing Cyanogenmod on Galaxy Y

Hi I am new to android. I decided to install CyanogenMod on my Indian sgy rooted and had stock rom with Touchwiz and android 2.3.6. So I got some instructions from here . Then I downloaded the file of around 120MB.I booted into recovery mode. I selected update from SD card and then selected CWM.zip I got from XDA thread. It entered the CWM and then I selected Format system, Clear cache and clear Dalvik cache. Then I selected the update from SD card and then selected the CM zip file of 120MB I had in my phone. It installed and then it showed no errors. After conformation I rebooted the phone. It showed Samsung Galaxy Y and then turned black with no Samsung logo. I thought it was doing something and then after 3 minutes I touched the screen it began to draw circles wherever I touched. I thought I bricked the phone. After two minutes I turned it off and then again got into recovery mode and then to CWM mode and got my phone back with Nandroid backup I had.
Was the phone installing and I interrupted it by touching it?
Is there any error on my installation steps?
Kindly reply me how to install this CM and tell me if you get the same and give me the link you used for installing CM
Apologies for poor english if you find any.
you installed cm9
to use cm9 you need to install whitexp kernel else you will have the track pad which you experienced
you should also know cm9 is not stable in this device - no network wifi data etc - all it does is boot

Thank you. Could you please guide me through any other ROM or thread that could
help me to install another rom. I am not asking for a best ROM. I am just asking a more
appropriate ROM that I could use as galaxy y is not officially supported by Cyanogenmod.
Also the developer of mod said to install kernel if I restore nandroid backup using CWM will I get stock kernel back.
please don't mistake me that I am asking the best rom.

no you will not get stock kernel back by restoring nandroid backup
to go back to stock rom/kernel you need to flash stock rom firmware via odin
This is because the kernels that support cm will format your system to ext - stock kernel does not support ext so your phone will not boot so you need to flash stock rom via odin to go back to stock
all roms including stock based cm7 and aosp are found in the dev section - read the op - full instructions are given there - if you flash a cm7 or aosp rom you will need to flash percys kernel first and reboot to recovery and format system data cache to remove mount errors
choose one that works best for you

Hi Nikhil
How did the Hells Fusion #50 kernel help you?
Would it be any different in performance of my phone if i just flashed the Hyperion 2014?
Or do you recommend Hells Fusion #50 definitely.

I see that you're a new user in XDA. First let me explain what a kernel is. It's a piece of software which links your hardware to the software whereas a ROM is the software.
In Hyperion 9's thread you read that it is based upon DXMJ firmware. It's the firmware which he has modified and made this great ROM. You can flash it over any ROM, including stock which you have got, except the CM ones if you follow the instructions correctly. You have to flash the RIL fix from Hyperion 8's thread to get the networks working if you change your kernel.
As for your kernel question it is sometimes better than stock because you get more freqs, govs and ioscheds to customize your performance, battery life, etc. It also enables support for init.d scripts which can be used to speed up your phone.
You can use any custom kernel of your choice and Hells Fusion #50 is not a bad choice.
Good Luck flashing.
Savie rev 73 is also gd ....

Hi Guys,
Thank you again for the immediate reverts. I had successfully installed the Hyperion 2014. Not done anything else.
Phone worked perfectly for 2 days. My kid was playing with the phone when she probably touched something in the touch control tab next to the notification tab.
PROB: The screen is off but everything is working. Cannot see anything. It could be that the display light has become 0 or something else.
On rebooting the phone i can see the hyperion logo ... then thats it ..... its dark again!
SOS Help required!

sounds like screen brightness is 0
Hyperion from memory has a hidden brightness slider - if you hold your finger on the status bar as if you are going to expand it but instead of sliding your finger down to expand it you slide it left the screen with get darker and if you slide it right the screen will get brighter
The problem you will have is if you have a screen lock you will have to enter that in before you can get to the status bar
You can remove the screen lock easily if you have to - search how to
Else you will have to format data in cwm and everything will revert to default however you will loose all user data

whats the wifi toggle problem
well if u touch the wifi logo in the toggle bar then at times it shows an error (only to shut down the wifi)....long pressing the symbol will get you directly to the wifi settings menu where u have to manually shut it down....other than this this Rom by Sir Carl has no bugs at all...and is THE BEST for sgy When overclocked by merruk 2.5 to 1.25 Ghz and undervolted to say -120mV with bacem tweak along with V6 Supercharger and Kickass kernelizer scripts(Latest versions of both) ,Bravia engine 3 ,beats Audio and Fly On Mod used....it runs like an Alien Device...i had a nice experience with it

i have come across a strange problem on the HYPERION-09.DXMJ1.GM-FINAL.BUILD-UPD.01. i am able to connect to the internet and even 3g and wifi, but when i try to make calls it shows not connected to a network. The status bar also shows no service whereas it shows atleast 3-4 bar in network reception. also i can browse the internet during this time also i have no imei. i have added the screen shots.

You have lost imei due to using wrong firmware kernel ril combination
You have several options
1- if using new firmware with an old kernel like hells fusion #50 just flash the correct ril file - see my ril thread links as ever below in my thread in my signature
2 - change kernels to match baseband firmware
3 -change baseband to match kernel

Can you turn WiFi on?
If it just says scanning & doesn't find any WiFi (assuming that there are some in range) you are using the wrong WiFi driver
See below for correct driver - Flash in cwm with system mounted
These are for stock based gb roms only
For whitexp kernel & hells fusion use - http://d-h.st/1ON
For all other stock based kernels use - http://d-h.st/q8W
If you can turn on wifi & can detect networks but wifi hotspot still doesn't work than use a 3rd party app like foxfi

[KERNEL][I8200N] Baroni-Kernel Alpha

I can give ABSOLUTLEY no gurantee!! All you do with your phone will be on your own. I'm not responsible if your phone will brick or whatever...
Attation! This kernel is for the I8200 variant ONLY... the I8190 is absolutley not compatible !!!
Kernel should be work also for I8200/I8200Q/I8200L-Variants, but can not be gurateed as the basis was I8200! If it works then a notice will be fine!
If you are not sure about the process, the data are important on your phone or you need it as a daily phone, then LET IT BEE, and wait for the messages that it is safe to use. Its important at the beginning that users with knowledge tried it at first !
Changelog:
12.02.2016: Long time ago, but now after a lot of investigating some new things comes up. Check what was done
05.01.2014: I try to work on the kernel over x-mas in my free time, but I must say that the source of samsung which was provided on opensource.samsung.com is not really funny stuff... there are so many coding errors, which was. not able for me to solve directly. So now I started to examine other kernel sources, and will try to port a more main.tained source to the i8200. From My point of view this will be the only way to produce an more accurate kernel for our device, and get the possibility to include also selinux what is needed for a kitkat-rom. Nevertheless, it is not easy to work on that stuff, because I'm not an expert on kernel work (but I learn every day more , so if you know someone with more kernel experiences, it would be very helpful to get a contact...
Baroni-V0.1 contains:
Basis of opensource from Samsung with some bugfixing
fixed recovery-boot-loop with a config-setting which must be used special in the Recovery zImage
Loglevel pushed down to minimum
Uber-Toolchain 4.9
set onDemand-Governor to standart. just to check how that works
start implementing SmartAssV2-Gonernor, but leave it inactive, due to some compile-errors.
bringing SELinux to work for future kernel releases if needed for > 4.4
Planned:
new govenors at the moment not established (will come later)
more other stuff (depending on learning-curve
Installation:
Install a recovery for safetyreasons (I prefer TWRP https://www.dropbox.com/s/d3rnfp3vabz9ee8/twrp_i8200_corrected.7z?dl=0
Read carefully the hints of the usage in the following firts post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-mini/general/s-iii-mini-ve-i8200-n-t2826565 (There also the needed Odin (3.09) can be get)
Make backups of the complete phone, and be sure that you know what you do!
Download the right Firmware for your phone from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ (just to have a other safety fallback in your hand!)
Download the file, start odin as usual (all kies-tasks closed!)
extract the file, and put it to AP
put the phone in Downloadmode (Vol-down,Home-key and powerbutton), and connect the phone with PC
flash the kernel, and let the phone reboot
pray
If things go wrong, please give everytime the following information's:
what you did before
what exactly happened (its not easy to help if you say: it did not work )
which rom in which version, which recovery and which version of my Kernel you use
try to get a /proc/last_kmsg (if a unknowen reboot appears) and/or Logcat, Build prop, CPU info, Sysctl, Kmsg, Dmesg and send it to me (or as a attachment to the post) for further analyse (you can use that tool for it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bassel.andylog )
Attention: First checks seem to be that I8200 (without N or L or Q) did not work atm.

My Friend.
Yesterday I tried to install its kernel but my phone did not start properly.
I wanted to do a restore from a backup that had done, but the recovery (TRWP) did not restore the data partition.
Is there any chance that I happen again the same with this version?

Attention with TWRP-Recovery. Data-Partition restore seems to be not right. At the moment please did not use it, because it can delete your data-partition. We have to investigate it further! Other partitions seems to be ok, but its a good Idea if you copy your important data also manually to a other storage (like PC) while you trying things of this thread.

You are a funny guy... Flasching things without reading the guide is something like a other guy I know from kentucky fried movie (Danger-seeker)
Nevertheless, I added in first thread the stock kernel for i8200n to flash with odin.

Hi to all followers of this thread.
Just to give an update: I try to work on the kernel over x-mas in my free time, but I must say that the source of samsung which was provided on opensource.samsung.com is not really funny stuff... there are so many coding errors, which was not able for me to solve directly. So now I started to examine other kernel sources, and will try to port a more maintained source to the i8200. From My point of view this will be the only way to produce an more accurate kernel for our device, and get the possebility to include also selinux what is needed for a kitkat-rom...
Nevertheless, it is not easy to work on that stuff, because I'm not an expert on kernel work (but I learn every day more , so if you know someone with more kernel experiences, it would be very helpful to invite him/her. To ask in forums (also in xda) is something what I do, but unfortunately the responding are not every time safe...
So I wish you all a happy new year, and lets work together to bring our device a little bit forward

Ask MARDON he made the kernel for Galaxy Ace - maybe he support Your work.
Any progress on the kernel? Is it on github?
Why does this not suport usb flash drives or can the function be ported

I think it must be activated on both sides. Kernel and ROM...

galaxy s4 charging problems after flashing new rom

Hello , I wanted to install OzcanRom v6.3 Aroma So i did.. first i change the recovery to TWRP , all fine , flashed with odin , then tried to install the rom and worked but the phone was not starting , was staking at boot so i read on the forum that the recovery is the problem , so i change it again and used CWM and worked fine , phone opened , the rom is fine all working , but i noticed that the phone is not charging fast or not charging at all same times..
My first thought was that the cable or the micro USB port is damaged .. nop.. i changed cable and charger , also changed battery with one 100% new and nothing.. the problem remain.. So i was sure that the problem is software related and make again install on the rom , I follow the process with cleaning Dalvik cache etc and many times , Also removed the battery for 10 mins and also i tried to calibrate the battery , nothing worked.. I have install on my phone one app to check the battery stats and i saw that same times , even if charger is connected the phone does not receive the proper power or receive like 50 Ma per 1 hour... sometimes if i disconnect and reconnect the cable make the problem fixed , from 50 Ma goes over 500 so the phone charges..
Also i noticed that the CPU of the phone (under the camera ) gets too hot even if i dont use the phone at all , it happens only when charging and receiving low amount of Ma.. the max Ma i have seen is like 500 Ma per hour.. still very very low and phone takes forever to charge..
Can you help me fix this problem? My guess is that the problem is the kernel.. but not sure what kernel to use with this Rom and how to install it..
Any TouchWiz kitkat custom kernel should work.
The only other option may be to change to another ROM.

So this one will work ? seems like a good kernel to me , and if yes , it will work perfect with the OzcanRom ?

Read my post again because you did not read it correctly the first time.
I said any TOUCHWIZ KITKAT custom kernel.
What you linked is for AOSP AND CM.

AOSP is what you find on Nexus devices.
All you need to know about it now is that you can't use that kernel on your Ozcan ROM.
Look for kernels that are labeled TW or TouchWiz.
...or you could get it to work by grabbing any TW-LL kernel and replacing the ramdisk with the KK one. But, there's no guarantee that it would work, plus you need some knowledge on doing this.
