If you have access to the ROM or can create a backup/clone of your phone, please let me know.
The RM-820 ROM is for the Rogers (and presumably AT&T) Lumia 920. European ROMS are RM-821.
Thanks!

It isn't quite polished enough to run on such advanced HW as Android devices....but it will flawlessly run on a 3GS.

Back in the old days it was about getting the most out of the hardware. All those Amiga demos written in assembler trying to get the most number of sprites on the screen.
Even the 64k demos are amazing.
With Android it's about throwing more hardware at slow inefficient code. Wasn't Windows always criticised for being bloated and slow? funny how Windows Phone is faster than Android on a single core.

Could you try using the tools in this thread to create a backup of the phone?
http://www.symbiantweet.com/how-to-force-update-nokia-lumia-800-710-to-latest-software-tango
You will need to modify the steps as you won't be flashing a rom. You just need to run the create backup.

Very excited!!
I just checked Navifirm and there are now RM-820 ROMS available!!
Not only that, but there is a yellow variant for Rogers. That should mean they are releasing a yellow phone at some point soon.
I am downloading the black ROM right now and will hopefully have a working phone very soon
Just as a final update, the flash worked and my phone is once again operational. Loving the Lumia 920!

Ain't that the truth. Only difference is people used to criticize Microsoft for supporting the hardware industry by making Windows ever-more bloated with each version. Seems nobody has a problem with Google doing that to sustain Android phone sales/activations. Now we have 4.7" quad-core phones with 24-48 hour standby times (like in the AMPS days) in spite of 2000+ mAh batteries. Instead everyone complains about Microsoft making Windows Phone too simplistic. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Exist any WM6.1 ROM for HTC Dream ? Please dont ask me why I need this.
Thanks.
No, not going to happen, been asked many, many, many times already.
why not ? where is the problem to cook non official ROM ?
For one, its a waste of a perfectly good phone to put that CRAP on it. If you want a piece of crap, buy a piece of crap.
Second, the required drivers simply don't exist.
What do you men crap ? OK, the second explanation is better.
I think lbcoder got it right. windows mobile IS Junk. I have a Kaiser in addition to the G1. The Kaiser has great hardware minus the KB, small screen, and quiet speaker, but it has a horrific OS e.g. It's slow, locks up, restarts itself for no reason.
The G1 however has a great OS that needs little or no changing at all, but dumbed down hardware.

Bottom line is if you want WinMo, buy a WinMo phone. Most of the hackers working on HTC Dream are working on Android.
Oh yeah and use the search.

Now that I think about it; I sure wouldn't mind the ability to dual boot. Not even sure why but maybe just for that hell of it.
Makes no sense
I had the T-mobile Dash before the G1 and wound up giving the dash to my wife. I was helping her learn to use it and only then did I realise how goofy the setup of it all is. They say the beauty of it is that it tries to emulate the Windows experience, but if my desktop worked like that...I'ld have a mac.

Hi
Is there anyway HTC Hero can run WM6.5 ?
Thank you.
Hi!
No. Thank God.
While technically possible, from a religious point of view it would be considered a sin.
If you intend to give WM a try, you'd better to lend a WMphone and play with it.
If you changed your mind about a Linux powered phone, ebay is the way.
I cast you out from our sacred land
Ofcourse it would be possible... if you have the source code for WinMo and got the drivers for the Hero hardware.`But tyou don't have that (I am sure HTC got both though).
But why would you?
I am sure that you can put Android on already existing hardware too (how about Android on S60 phones or even the iPhone)

Deal?
the hardware is pretty similar with HD2, I wonder if we can flash HD2 ROM on this device. I like the hardware of Nexus One but missing the WM6.5. I will try to flash it when it is received tomorrow.
i have a better question... why would you want to?
Seriously, just buy an HD2 if you have such a WinMo boner
Are you kidding us? WM doesn't exist...
If you try Android you will never go back to WM..
yeah... gonna dump my fuze.. maybe sell it for $100 and get outta ATT..
buy the phone outright, and jump on the $59 plan they got (or maybe make up a different one - i'm not much of a texter), then add on the work discount.. cheaper than paying $180 for it and being stuck w/ the $80/mo plan.
I'm done with winmo after playing with my parents android phones
HD2 cost $670 +shipping, but if I flash the Nexus one, it only costs $562. it's a better choice than buy a HD2.

Well there is a device called Sunno, supposed to have both WM&android - dual boot, similar to your desktop's dual boot. So it's possible then?I think it would be beneficial for these devices to have changeable os. Monday - android, tuesday - winmo. About stupidity - I don't like android (hero that is) - so I'm stupid then??
Biased people.. Android fans start to sound like iPhone groupies. All think Android is a new killer OS, ever owned a GOOD WM device? "whats new? what is all the fuss about?" What can you do now that is sooooo different from what I could do 3/5 years ago with Winmo? The only good thing in the nexus? The snapdragon used in WM HD2..
this android is just stupid program. Got it today.
can not download applications from Android market. it just say "starting download", but never start.
I try to download from windows XP, and copy to SD card, but
it even does not have file explore. it's no way to find and run the installation.

An interesting concept, there are those that are asking if Windows Phone7 is going to work with the HTC HD2 as well. Be nice if we could choose either. The HD2 is a lovely piece of kit.

I'm not so sure about this....
With the Evo not coming to UK waters and no other screen size planned this side of the pond the ROM on the HD2 may well be the only answer.
However, lets not forget.. the Evo has a lot inside which will be different to the HD2 and these short comings won't make the HD2 an Evo in disguise.
It may end up being a sheep in wolf's clothing.
I don't think you'll see it because of driver issues but if enough people want it anything is possible.

Tell that to Winterboard and AndroidLock. But yes, theming isn't supported natively.
However the iPhone port of Android is an actual native port, loaded using OpeniBoot, a custom "iBoot"-style bootloader. And you thought the HTCSPL system was tricky...

Belated, but May the Fourth be with you.
I find it quite unlikely. Developers are still trying to get Android EMULATED, not installed, on the Touch Pro, and that version still suffers from poor battery life and frequent errors.
You can't just drag and drop ROMS from completely different operating systems onto different phones; otherwise, all phones would be sold without an OS installed.
The two phones may be similar in regards to features, but the insides are completely different. For example, the Evo has a maXTouch sensor, while the HD2 does not. So, while you may be able to get Android emulated on the HD2, it doesn't look like it's going to be very possible to transform it into an Evo by giving it the latter's ROM.

This won't be possible... WP8 runs on the NT kernel. The amount of work needed to somehow make a CE emulator that could run on WP8 would be impossible also due to the limited API stack we have...I'd say this question is very much like the other questions I see on here all the time with people wishing to run Android on these phones.
