[Q] HTC 7 Pro Sprint release ROM out - Porting to Evo possible?

With the availability of the HTC 7 Pro release RUU, I hope someone has plans to try to get it ported to work on the Evo.
Anyone here looking into it? I'd donate to the cause.

i don't think a port can be done tbh. i wouldn't mind it though, id try it out, maybe even donate for it.

The ability to watch Netflix should be enough of a reason.

I believe it's more of a hardware solution to a software that doesn't support DRM. The snapdragons that I believe you are referencing have DRM built in to them, and thats why netflix is supporting them.
I wouldn't mind even a really crappy port, WP7 would be cool to test drive for a few days. I couldn't ever imagine buying one, unless it had killer specs and Android was already ported over it!

Many reasons to be able to run WP7, chief amongst them for me are XBox Live games and integration, NetFlix, Zune, etc.. Plus I think the interface is quite sleek.
It would simply be awesome to be able to run both OS's off of one phone. If the probability to port Android over to a WP7 is more likely, then I will most probably buy a WP7 phone next.

I believe the hardware is similar just like hd2 is VERY similar to evo.
A drop of Chuck Norris's semen was placed on Android OS. We now have CyanogenMod.

I believe this would be worth it. as long as the port isn't hardware restricted. I agree the UI is very sleek as well and I would donate a Biggie Size Big Mac Meal from McDonalds. Would be very fun to test drive. maybe even an option as a dual-boot.

that means nothing as a few devs just got honeycomb to boot on our evo's. we just need a dev to try this out and i bet it would work. problem is most devs hate windows now.
come to think of it, we should ask myn to tackle this project!

Skyvi app is very cool just like siri

IM IMPRESED WITH THIS APP. im sure with later updates will be better.

I don't think so; I think you may be overstating things a bit. What do you really use flash for on your phone anyway?
I certainly didn't switch TO android because it could do flash.
And I sold phones for a long time and no customer ever told me they chose android because of flash compatibility.
Also, I don't see how your flash comment has anything to do with the Skyvi app.

Some did, but they switched for the wrong reason. I'm sure google has a planned HTML5 or something along the lines better than flash for the impending future. To remove something 'crucial' and NOT have a plan to replace it, is asinine. I'm not worried at all.

Other than asking my phone dumb stuff like "what is the meaning of life?" I do have any real need for Siri-like apps. Maybe if I used my phone while driving or something. What these apps need is an uncanny ability to answer any meaningless question I could come up with. That will sell me.

Skyvi works fine on my HTC Desire HD running CM7. In fact it runs so well that I can't remove it from the notifications bar!
Tried Iris, not so good, know Vlingo don't like them (the company)

I found a launcher call espier launcher in market, it's homepage looks like iphone
and i also found a ROM called Joyos in XDA forum
the ROM looks like iphone especially the setting
but its lag and unstable for me..
so i wish to find a theme which looks like iphone
or can any great developer create a theme??

There is Iphone inspired ROM already, but sadly it was not shared here in xda. Its from chinese forum. You will really dont get Iphone real experience but UI is more like Iphone.
Reason why its not shared. Permission and warez issues.

you should try the JOYOS rom which is its UI like iphone

Guys forgive me but I cannot give you the exact thread link where I saw it, just look for our device and search for 2.3 ROMS(firmwares). Just use google translate.. The link to the forum is here.
Just dont share any of the ROMS that you acquired there here without proper permissions otherwise it will just be locked up.

iPad clone rom

I was wondering if anyone can port the iPhone clone ROM from the gooapple phone into our tablet? Its not that want an iPad clone, its that I want to see if project butter can fool people into thinking its an iPad mini or something. Would be fun to make a video on the streets telling people its the new iPad mini.

You're better off switching to a cm10 based ROM and then downloading an iOS based theme or something. Alternatively, try miui launcher. It has the iOS kinda look / feel to it.

There's a difference between disagreeing and calling someone a retard. He's somewhat right. People flame for no reason just because they disagree, which really doesn't contribute to anything at all.
No need for anyone to attack him because he wants to see about an iPad mini; everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but respect seems to have been lost online. Half of these people wouldn't say the things they do in person.

This is a good launcher.
The reason I want to clone the iPad is because there's someone at work that's a iPhone fan, and I want to fool him by showing him "prototype" of the new iPad mini, and then once he gets excited and starts bashing Android I can reveal to him that its fake and get some good laughs

[Request] Sailfish for N4?

I like trying new things. Gotta love the Nexus series for the flexibility to make this possible.
I would love it if someone could port Sailfish to the N4 with the ability to install under multi-rom. Right now I'm booting to Factory Android 4.3 or Ubuntu Touch or Firefox OS.
I tried the Firefox and don't really care for it. I'm pretty committed to UT, but it is taking forever to mature. LOL.
I'd try Sailfish in an instant.

No. Though some may use some android bits (for working on android phones or whatever)

I hope it will be ported too. I think it's the most exiting new Opensource OS.
