I would suggest taking it back to GameStop, telling them the speaker is blown out, and see what they say?
GameStop sucks... they don't do replacements. But you could try...

how long have you had it.. And what is that store policy. Game Stop is Franchise business. Each store policy will very from state to state. But remember they also have to follow within the return/ exchange refund policy for that state. So nobody can really help you without knowing the policy for that store, the states policy to where you live and the day you bought it... Calling the store is the logical solution. I Would check website and so on maybe store signage corp policy before calling that store direct.. Know your rights up front...
Good Luck....

GameStop is not a franchise business. I worked there for a number of years in college. All stores are corporate owned and operated, and operate under the same corporate policies. Why are you posting information that you know to not be true? This guy is looking for help and you're sending him in the wrong direction. Why? It takes a mere 5 seconds on Google to find that there is no such thing as a Gamestop franchise program. In the future, please refrain from spreading misinformation regarding topics you don't wholly understand just to up your post count.

GameStop does do replacements, but only if the defect happened within some number (i forget how many, but i had a logitech steering wheel replaced once) of days of purchase, unless a replacement plan was purchased.

A guy at my church manages one of the stores here, and when I asked him about exchanges, he said if the product is defective within 30 days of purchase, they will exchange it.

I was told at my store there were no returns or exchanges accepted. The guy was cool enough to let me open the nexus 7 before purchasing to check for the screen lift. It had one and I didn't buy it. But yeah I was told no refunds/returns/exchanges.

Well that guy is either lying, or wrong.
Per Gamestop.com:
Returns and exchanges are subject to the following guidelines:
•A receipt is required for all returns and exchanges.
•Unopened new merchandise (except tablets) = full refund within 30 days of purchase
•Opened new merchandise (including tablets) = identical exchange within 30 days of purchase (no refunds)
•New accessories (opened or unopened) = full refund within 30 days of purchase
•Unopened new tablets = full refund within 14 days of purchase
•Pre-owned merchandise = full refund within 7 days of purchase or identical exchange within 30 days of purchase
•Downloadable Content (DLC), Digital Games and/or PC Downloads = no returns or exchanges
•We reserve the right to refuse any return and to require that certain items be returned directly to the manufacturer.
You can get a replacement, not a refund for an opened tablet, if within 30 days. Outside of 30 days, you're on your own unless you purchased extra protection.

I just a nexus 7 from staples, and just realized I have a loose screen from the left side. I cannot return it to staples because I did not purchase a protection plan . Has anyone purchased the nexus 7 from a store and try to get a replacement with google play store? I just emailed google play store and because of the high demand in customer service I have to wait a couple days to get a response.

If you're fairly confident you can use a plastic tool to pop the back case off from the screen and gently tighten the screws up your self.

Staples has a 14 day 100% satisfaction return policy. Has it been more than 2 weeks since you bought it?
Staples Return Policy said:
Easy Returns.
If you’re not 100% satisfied with your Staples purchase, return it for any reason.
Technology and Business Machines: Technology and business machines may only be returned within 14 days of the date of receipt, including Staples® brand technology and business machine products.
Returns with a receipt: If you paid with cash, debit card, or check, we’ll refund your purchase with cash if it was an in–store purchase or by check if you purchased through staples.com®. If you paid using a debit card and if the card and PIN are present during the refund, we'll credit the account used for payment. If your purchase exceeded $500 pretax, and you paid with cash, check or by debit card but do not have your debit card, your money will be refunded in the form of a corporate check. If you paid by credit card, we'll credit the account used for payment.
Any product that is returned without a promotional item(s), which was included in the original transaction (e.g. buy a printer, get free ink), will have the value of the promotional item deducted from the amount refunded.
Returns without a receipt: If you don't have your receipt, your return is eligible only for an in–store credit for the lowest selling price within the previous 30 days in our U.S. stores. Valid government identification is required for all non–receipted returns. We carefully monitor returns and in some cases returns made or without a receipt may be refused. Staples reserves the right to deny any return.

The protection plan is like an in-store warranty service. It doesn't mean they won't accept returns otherwise.
It has only been a day since I purchased the device. However, I don't want to return it, I really like the device. I want to exchange it for a non-defective one.

Google is processing orders and exchanges for Play store customers. You're not going to be processed before them. The larger capacity is backordered.
This is partly why I ordered the 8 after returning my defective 16 to Sam's. I'd rather deal with Google, and the 8 will arrive much sooner.
You, my friend, are a genius.

Newegg is selling black or white for $259 on ebay
I just got ordered one directly from newegg site the other day for $279. I never dealt with newegg before. Do you think they would adjust the price on my original order to $259?
If I return the $279 back, does newegg pick up the return shipping or do I?
Not going to lose sleep over the $20, but if pretty simple process and minimal hassle, $20 is twenty bucks

I have been waiting patiently, but then decided today to purchase of eBay for $259, I was going to wait next week so I price match Best buy, but I don't think they will match it nor stay at $259. Or $279 on NewEgg. Hopefully it s a perfect device. thursday.
Same Route
I took the Ebay route too - at 5 am this morning! No other source will approach this price for some time.
Are we getting Newegg's discards? I don't think so, sealed box is sealed box, and the units are advertised as "New" and nothing less.
Let's swap notes when we get our packages.

Talked to Newegg support chat this afternoon giving them my order number from yesterday's order and after some discussion got a $20 gift certificate on the way via email. Better than nothing and still got the $279 deal. Mine is on the way delivery scheduled for Tuesday. Good luck anyone else with the price matching.

You're reading something into the ebay buyer protection program that isn't there. If the item is "not as described" or you didnt received it then it would be covered. Receiving an item with a manufacturing defect is not specified addressed in the terms of the sale and assuming you could utilize the BPP in such a manner would be foolish.
So Newegg doesn't want anything to do with a "I don't like it after all" return, but a new item is covered by manufacturer warranty anyway right?
So it would be more of a pain to deal with manufacturer instead of retailer, but either way you wouldn't be stuck with a lemon right?

Let me share a story that may ease some fears. I dropped my HTC DNA and smashed the screen. Screen repairs are expensive, so I made the mistake of going with the cheapest vendor -- Mission Repair. Not only did they do a shoddy job, gluing the speaker back askew and leaving the red stripes on the side loose, but it was returned with the wifi malfunctioning.
I paid with PayPal (owned by ebay, of course), so I followed their procedures and opened a dispute, where I told my side of the story. Mission Repair actually responded that I should return the unit to them so that they could determine whether there was anything wrong with my phone! Of course this was unacceptable to me, so I escalated the case to a claim, which would force PayPal to intervene. I summed up my story and MR was given 10 or 14 days to respond.
I guess they realized that they had no ground to stand on, because AFAIK PayPal never heard back from them. Right after MR's response period expired, PayPal refunded me the cost of the repair. Well, in the meantime, the problem with my wifi cleared up. I wasn't about to say anything, though, because I felt I deserved at least a response from MR. If the wifi had still been broken, I would have pushed for more than the repair cost.
So, the point of the story is that PayPal and ebay seem serious about resolving disputes. I don't know about ebay buyer protection, but it's easy to get PayPal to arbitrate a claim. If this doesn't put many minds at ease, just look at NewEgg's 99.5% positive rating on ebay.

You can definitely ask them to adjust the price by email without actually returning the unit. They should be happy to help since it avoids a buy / return.
I did request their policy as I did not know. They adjust prices for 7 days from order. They offered to allow me to return it for a full refund at their expense and overnight the new order.

That's a great price for the 8.4 right now. I had picked it up last week for $399 and have really liked the size and performance. I had bought it locally at Fry's and got my 110% price guarantee yesterday with no problems!

Did you do it through chat or email? I did it through chat and 2 of the reps said the samething. They only price match or adjust the price within the first 7 days of purchase. What I did to get my refund difference was to use the email they sent me to leave feedback after I chat with them. Just leave all 3 feedbacks at 1 star then they will have an option for them to call you. The lady I talked to on the phone refund the $50 difference for me right away. Maybe you can try that route and see.

This is really good info for others. Unfortunately for me, I'd started the process of returning/re-ordering while killing time during an hour wait at the Minions ride at Universal Orlando (which, btw, was totally worth it). I had already delivered an "excellent" review of the customer service. I was (am) totally pleased that they allowed me a way to get the $50. even if it's a convoluted method. I don't have any problem getting the package to UPS.
I did the request through email. I'm sure there's some bookkeeping procedure by doing it this way--like maybe a business expense deduction as it doesn't seem to make sense. In any case, the new tablet ($599.) will be here tomorrow. After it passes the "test," the other will be returned. If it does NOT pass muster, I will then call to get the $50. applied.
Thanks @ machx1111 for even mentioning it. I come from the days of "let the customer beware" so I don't always think of these things.

I also chatted with a rep a couple days ago. Same canned response about price matching within the first 7 days. I was emailed a copy of the chat, but still waiting for their email so I can leave feedback. What they did send me was a link to see if I happened to qualify for a rebate, for any order #. Of course, there was no rebate for my tablet order.

I don't think price alone affected low sales. Poor marketing. This was meant to compete with other flagship phablets. And they did a piss poor job. For the average person they don't care about "pure android" or timely updates. They want the latest and greatest. Seems like Google didn't do much to market this phone for people outside of the people who already have/own/want a nexus. Nexus crowd expect a cheaper price and were turned off by the size. If Google wanted this to sell better they should have marketed as a competitor to the iPhone 6+ and Note 4.

I just got off the phone with Google. They had my joy on a yoyo string. First it was yes we can refund. then no we cant, because you're out of the 15 day refund period( by 1 day!!!). So I told her I havent connected it because of waiting on project fi. But also explained i was looking to maybe get the S6 and just return the nexus 6. I continued to tell her I saw online that google dropped the price and some people have gotten the difference refunded. She spoke to the manager and he said "no don't lose the sale just refund the difference"
So the $150 is suppose to post in my account in 2days.
Fyi there's a 15 day refund policy. they can work around that if you threaten to return the phone. Also. I'm sure if it's been more than 30days it won't work either way.
they did refund me the difference.
here is the email i got.......
Thank you for contacting Google about your recent Nexus 6 order!
In keeping with our Price Protection Policy, I've refunded you the difference in price resulting from our recent price reduction.
If there is anything else you need, please do not hesitate to reach out, and congratulations on your new phone!

Preordered Nexus 6p 64 on first day from Google Store
Forgot to include Nexus Protect Plan $89 so I contacted Google to add this to my pre order.
I was told I must cancel my order and re order even though the phone is no longer available, Join the wait list with the Protect Plan.. Then wait for an undetermined time, maybe next year to get the Nexus 6p.
I was told I could order another phone and wait for it then send the phone back in remorse.
Does this make sense to anyone?
Maybe I'll either sell the phone on Ebay for $800 or cancel and jump on the Samsung Note 5 or S6 edge
I should have just kept my Nexus 6 ( Oh well for a forward thinking company, the Emperor still has no cloths )

No it doesn't make sense that Google orders can't be edited.... They should really work in incorporating that feature on their site.

Not just their site, The support group is unable to edit or add to an order. Support called left a message to email them., if I still had a problem. I really hate sending something good back, restocking and keeping a new device from someone else.
Maybe Google should get the " Internship" back to modernize their store. Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson wouldn't do this to me.
