Kindle dictionary - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I enjoy reading on my CM7 NC Kindle app. I use the dictionary often. Can the function of word look-up be accessed outside the Kindle app?

I believe the new Kindle app uses an external dictionary app, Websters dictionary. Should be able to now.

Are you asking for the .apk files for those apps? Those apps are free at the Amazon AppStore, so you don't need to be rooted to get them.

What's wrong with your app store? If you can't use your AppStore, Google the apps and sideload them. I'm pretty sure they won't be hard to find since they are free.

Amazon AppStore automatically deletes those .apk files once it installes the app. Also the Marketplace does not show these apps so this is the best I can do.

I read books on my kindle app, magazines and books from nook app, library books via overdrive app. I much prefer using a rooted nook (running MIUI rom).

Remote control my phone from my fire

Topic says it all, I want to remote control my captivate from my fire, is there an app for that?

One way is to use VNC. Setup a client on the phone you want to control from and the server on the Fire.
Can you recommend a server app? All I see so far are client apps. Thanks

How do we bring back original bookshelf view in rooted Kindle only?

Hi guys,
I wonder how I bring back unrooted bookshelf view to my rooted Kindle Fire?
I rooted it and imposed CM9 Energy rom, and so pleased that I dont want lose this general view, but I only want an app or something else that will bring Amazon's original bookshelf view.
Is it possible?
Go back to gingerbread. Only way I know. A rooted kindle with the Go stuff can switch back and forth.

Is this launcher on the market

Why do you want the bookshelf view? The Kindle Fire app is good. Isn't that enough for you?

Are you rooted? (Or willing to root your device?)
Apps like Google maps have a dependency on frameworks not included with the stock OS
I am rooted
