Hello everyone,
I have been searching for some time about a possibilitie / software that will work for my actual HTC (Diamond pro) but nothing comes to be even good. And then I remember the old times with an old HTC (sorry I do not remember the model) where a dedicate key could turn off the screen
what I am looking for, if anybody has an idea, please share it,
- hot key, shortcut that turn off the screen, and disable the touch screen
- the screen come become a-live with same key-press
that's all !!
and what I think would be the perfect solution.
- and application that as soon as it get started turn off the screen and disable the touch screen, letting still the functinality for the device to be controlled by the PC (personally I use MyMobileR )
- in that way it could be assign to a hot key, or to a short cut in the screen/menus (I will love to be possible to assign to a long touch on the central pad/button)
- it could have advance configuration options :
dim light levels instead of complete turn off
splash a logo / screen instead of black screen
- configurable key to let the app go, again lovely if a long central pad touch would make it
mainly the idea is to save battery / turn off the screen (touch also) in a easy way without lose any other functionality when the device think is not time to do it (connected to PC, GPS application, Music playing, etc...)
any idea ?
I would love to program it, but I lack the skills necessary for it. within my ignorance I presume is not a difficult app to be develop
thanks in advance
have you tried xdaShutdown?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544016
you can make a .lnk file of "lights out" and assign it to a button.
53#"\Program Files\xdashutdown\xdashutdown.exe" /lightsout
Click to collapse
Hello dude i can share what i think
Im using Turn the Screen OFF
Its very litle and simple app so after install it on the Main Memory she will apear in the start menu, you need just to go in settings, personal, buttons and there to map some of the hardware keys to use Turn of the light.
I didt it with my Answering Button and when i press and hold that Button my phone go to sleep mode fast.. when i wana wake up the phone i can do it by the Stylus.. if i pull out the stylus the phone wake up or the second variant is to press the Power button.
Im using this app because i don`t want to use my power button anymore and this program really work for me and is free
Im using Touch HD but the program will work on any WM Device
Hi everybody!
I would like to have a touch screen back button positioned on my task bar instead of pressing the hardware key each time. Does app capable of this exist? And is there a way to customise more buttons within the task bar? Thank you gurus
Hi, is there any way to replace roles of those 2 navigation keys?
I have problem with screen sensitivity on bottom right part so want to have back key left (back is muck more used and this part of screen is perfectly responsible)
This will help me a lot, I have no solution to fix this or to replace phone...
I don't know if there's a mod to exchange the functions of those 2 soft keys. What i know is you can install an on-screen navigation bar to have back, home, and recent apps buttons. It will work only on Lollipop touchwiz:

If you want to disable / re-enable the capacitive keys and physical home button:

hey all, just moved from iphone 7 to galaxy s7 edge and loving it so far. the only thing i cant get over is the physical home button. coming from iphone 7 which had a capacitive pressure sensitive home button that didnt require almost any pressure, i find it a real nuisance how hard i have to press the home button on the physical button on the S7Edge and i still cant get used to it. Are there any apps out there that can add a bar on the bottom of the screen with multitask/home/back software keys? i once tried some edge swipe gesture apps and set them to Home or Back, but they dont work on marshmallow on the edge. i would ideally like something that just adds software keys on the bottom of the screen, i know it would make my viewing area smaller maybe but dont care about that at the moment
Thanks for all your help over the years folks. I have a predicament of my own to solve now.
My S7 Edge SM-G395F has had some minor water damage, the only thing that seems affected is the capacitive 'back' and 'recent apps' buttons. Not working at all, and I've gone through all the possible standard fixes (hard reset, safe mode, factory reset).
I was wondering if anyone has managed to fine a way through roms, hacks etc to move these buttons above the originals and home button. I'm using an app to have floating buttons at the moment but no matter where I put them they get in the way, and repair is beyond my price range now.
So looking for a way to keep my phone more functional by adding a bar above a the home button permanently to use these close to the originals in a dedicated space and losing a little space from the screen itself.
Happy with room/flashing etc, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
my buttons work fine but I always use an app called GMD Gesture Control to use gestures instead of tapping back and recent keys. the app doesn't have a navigation bar so it will not take the bottom part of the screen.
just download the pro version, not the lite one, and you'll find it the best app for replacing your broken keys' behavior.
