Its a nexus device so development will be strong there, as well as timelyGoogle updates vs large screen and stylus and touchwiz?

Also the display isn't "true" HD, it's 720P, not 1080p and both use RGB and not RGBG (Pentile).
Don't see your point, i need the bigger screen, and the stylus.

Well, you need a bigger screen and adults but many people like to see timely updates, and beautiful AOSP. Everyone has his choices. I'm moving from Note 2 to Nexus 4...

Well,its a matter of perspective...
Just my opinion, nexus 4's snapdragon is much faster than exynos 4. .just saying
seems a little disappointing from the reviews. Was expecting the bechmarks to match that of the optimus g since its built really similar to it and share similar internals. Still a great phone for the price, but wont touch the note 2.
hmm.. where are the benchmarks that say it doesn't match the optimus g? was actually thinking of buying this for someone as a xmas gift..

I have a Galaxy Nexus and I will check 4.2 on it. Not missing original Android at all.
Smaller screen with huge on-screen buttons making it even smaller...
Many homemade roms and kernels that dont bring a lot besides gadgetry and bugs.
No Sd card, no replaceable battery, unproven build quality.
The longer the list the better the Note 2 is looking.
I guess yeah if you are into going from one buggy rom or kernel to another one every two days maybe you need a Nexus 4 for that.
Good homemade roms/kernels can be counted on the fingers of one hand for each phone.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Engadget claims that the battery of the Nexus 4 is half the battery of the optimus g and phone arena already stated that the note 2 has double the battery of the optimus g. So the answer is no, I don't want to downgrade from 8h of screen on time to just 2 or 3 hours.

www.engadget.com/2012/11/02/nexus-4-review/
checkout the performance and battery details..no where as good as our beast!
To all those people sagging about the performance and battery life issues, the reviewers had test units with totally beta software. in the review of the verge the device is even seen to have a software update available which hasn't been activated.
So:that's not an issue. the hardware is quad core snapdragon and 2GB ram, same as on lg optimus g,which is a beast in performance and battery life, and that's on ice cream sandwich!
Until then, take these reviews with a cup of salt
Again there shouldn't be a comparison between these 2 phones they are aimed at totally different markets.

No Oppo section so I though I'd post here. Seen it in another forum and just blatantly copied the text so I don't have to rewrite my self.
Specs are as follows:
Android 4.1 Jellybean
5-inch 1920x1080 Display (441 PPI)
Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 Processor (Easily beats the Exynos 4412 in the Galaxy S III and Tegra 3 in the HTC One X)
2GB of RAM
12 Megapixel Camera
16 or 32GB of storage + MicroSD Card slot
2500 mAh Battery
This will probably interest a lot of current Note users

I will get my nexus 4 in summer, maybe may or June, so should I wait for the n5 or just stick with the n4 ?
And isn't the hardware on the n4 is going to do great handling any apps or games without any problems for a few years ? I mean it's the best out there I think...

Give him a break guys, he's using the xda app and obviously there isn't a search button. And it would have been easier to just answer him than try to be a mean mum.
To OP: You wouldn't regret getting a Nexus 4 mate. The hardware would undoubtedly be outdated in a few years, but it certainly won't fall behind by that much. And you wouldn't feel too far behind from new android versions since this is a nexus.
The glass I think is fragile but putting a case on the back would definitely protect it. But temperature changes (sudden ones) are rumored to affect the glass and cause them to spontaneously break without producing splinters. Based on the data though, one can assume that only a few units are affected by this condition (mine too, unfortunately )
Anyways, it's your decision. If you think you can wait, then get the 5, but if your hands are itchy and want to get a sexy device, get the n4
In my opinion though, wait till june. If the nexus 5 launches and you don't like it, then get the 4, if you do though, then obviously get the nexus 5.

Exactly and also it mentions tegra 4? That outdated piece of garbage. Qualcomm is currently the best chip. Agreed tegra has better gaming performance but overall Qualcomm blows away tegra.

Hey everybody! I want to know whether buying the developer unlocked M7 from HTC is worth the $649 asking price or is the HTC One X Plus the better option being generally $200 cheaper with its 1GB Ram and 64GB internal memory and quadcore chip? I must admit the non-removable battery has me leaning on a Sammy Note 2 but is there a way to restart these devices without removing the battery for those of us who customize our devices? In other words, from a frozen state or the need to reboot the device, is there an iron clad way to restart the phone in these conditions...and I don't mean give it a dunk or a bat or use to skip on a pond. For those of you who have in your possession a M7...is the hardware living up to the specs? Thanks!

You can reset it by holding the power button, like the Nexus 4, or any iPhone. You don't need to ever remove the battery. I never once removed my battery in my Note, Note II, or S3. People act like it is such a big deal, it really isn't.

I'd say go with the One. It is a bit more expensive, but you'll have the highest end device currently available (to prevent any flaming: this is my personal preference. The Galaxy S4 is also great, but I dislike the design of the SGS4 and really like htc Sense) and you will most certainly be good to go for another 2 years minimum. The X+ is also great, but the tegra chip and battery life disappointed me greatly on the One X. I can't say anything about the Note 2, but I've heard good things about it. What I dislike about it is the giant screen, but that's again personal preference.

No. No, you don't. It's an opinion and has precisely zero to do with any "logic" that's actually veracious. Try again.
Your rationality behind why it's better (notably the AMOLED) is laughable. Why don't you add hyper-contrasted colors to that list since it's a widely held belief? Or the fact that most people find Samsung's UI ugly as sin? Or that the argument between 8 MP/ 4 MP is a total understatement? Or that you'd have no real way of speaking to the battery life of either device since they haven't even been in the hands of consumers yet?
These questions are, of course, rhetorical.

Just out of interest have Samsung solved the loose battery problem in the note 3, you know where the device will switch off if it gets a knock? I know that wedging it in with a slip of paper helps but why should you have to do that in a high end device?

Never had that issue with mine or others whom own the device. Sounds like an early batch issue.

Pixel count is irrelavant nowadays im talking about the power efficient vibrant nature of amoled.
Spen is very popular in my circles and adds so much to the business experience. Note 2 is for bosses.
You say change the homescreen but why have it in the first place? Just another gimmick.
Yes better camera. Note 2 camera is one if the best all rounders there is. Htc one is only good for low light shots.

I have had a play with a htc one device a couple of days ago in a phone shop. Salesman was trying to sell the one to me on a 2 year contract. 15 mins after droning on about '1080p' , 'zoe' and 'blinkfeed' i just pulled out my 5.5inches of amoled perfection and was on my way.

Clearly, you went into the shop just to show off your note 2. There is no hope for you.
I personally thinking of the HTC Max.
It hasn't came out yet, but after seeing how awesome is the HTC one with beautiful Design and audio beat.
HTC Max might me my next daily phone.
So, what's your next upgrade Phone from your note 2?

I'm stuck between:
Note 3 (of course)
Sony Xperia Z1
Nexus 5 (when officially released to know the specs, but having it always get the latest updates does sound attractive. )
The HTC One Max is also a big phone that looks good, but we'll see. I've had the Note, Note 2 and SGS2 and my partner has the SGS3, and we live together. Samsung makes good phones and makes them to last (mine is 1 year old with 0 issues). But I might want to try something a little different, hence the change in device. 5 inch displays with on screen controls make the screen size even smaller. So I'm thinking of crossing out the Z1 and N5, but I don't know. They're VERY good phones and the camera on the Z1 is kick butt!
Note 5. Maybe then Samsung has 4K screens and a good developed flexible screen.
Probably a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or something innovative.

I really ask the same question personally as someone said once you go big cant go small so im gonna look at either s5 or note 4

I'll see the official specs of the nexus 5, especially the battery and the price.
It was announced to be 3000 mA and now the last news says 2400 mA which is clearely not enough.
I think I can sell my Note II and buy and Nexus 5 without loosing any money (or not that much)
Or else I'll keep my Note for one more year, I'm happy with it.
Note 3, rest doesnt come closer to it. Will buy in a month once prices cool down a bit.
