[Q] Time in photos. - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

Guys, i need to record the time and date when taking photos. So i am looking for an app to do that, ideally would print the date/hour in the picture... if this is not possible is there a way to know at what time was a photo taken?
I guess this is very basic question, but i am a really noob in this matter =)
I am using HTC HD2 with Pdaimatejam WP 7.8 rom. (excelent ROM btw)
Tks in advance.

Found an app to do this:
Photo TimeLine

every photo have digital tag with information with time and other data (GPS location is enabled)... i hate date and time when visible on photo

Yeah, i don't like date/time visible in photo either, but in this case i really need the information. After read your post i sync the photos with zune in my pc and all the info was there, time and date taken and even GPS coords =) (oh my.. we really live in a BigBrother world)
So.. i guess theres probably an app to read this digital tag inside HD2.. that would be perfect! Gonna search for it.

Found it.
Photo TimeLine out
Photo Info in.
Dxdy, ty.

What is GPS Photo ?

Can anyone tell me what is that and how to use it ? I switched that on in the phone and take a photo. But it seems that there is no difference with the photo without gps.
Thanks
The coodinates from the GPS are in the EXIF data of the picture.
Thanks
Thank you. Seems a bit use less. I need to download some program to read that information. But good to know that.

Full Screen Photo Caller ID !?!

Hey, I trying to find an app that will display a full screen photo when someone calls.
I know about Photo Contacts from PocketX, but it's too much other sh*t bundled in with it that screws up my phone!
All I want is a small app that will display a full screen photo of that contact when they call...
Any ideas, anyone ?!?
As far as i know photo contacts pro works good for me!
yeah, I'm sure it's a good prog, but I don't want any other functionality other than full screen photos. I'm not interested in extended ringtones, speed dialling, categorisation by groups..etc !

SAME THING FOR ME TOO. I HAD THAT ON FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS. IT WAS A LITTLE TOO MUCH FOR ME.
I've got to say Photo Contacts Pro all day long is the application for me.
Although I just don't like the way that I have to manually match the photos I'm using up with my Outlook address book.
You would have thought that M$ would have made it's contact pictures bigger in WM6. Nope. Still itty bitty small.
Did you try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314703 ?
You can also try Inesoft Address Book.

Geotagging on X1 not working but works on phone like S/E 905

Hi own both a S/E C905 and a S/E X1i and the funny thing is even with the new firmware for X1 we still don't have geotagging for the X1 eventhough I paid 1000 USD for the X1 and only 500 USD for the C905...
Here is my youtube vids of it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVawNLN8-ws (part1)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SAF8l94rs4&feature=channel_page (part 2)
you can't really compare x1 with other sonyE phones as sonyE can only do minor changes to wm on x1 where they got piles of control on symbian or whatever os they use on other devices
Well I have geo-tagging on my X1
Geotag is in the beta release of r3aa I suppose, with other new stuff? It's not in the official release though.

I know its the cab formally known as R3A camera file. That camera adds a gps coordinat tag to a picture using GPS reciever (not A-gps). But neither GMAP 2.0 or GMAP 3.0 on the X1 can read these coordinants like G Map can on C905.
So that isn't "real" geotagging feature in my opinion.
Sorry, to me Geotagging is marking the EXIF with the Lat/Long. Just because the WM Google Maps application doesn't read it doesn't mean the phone doesn't have Geotagging.
Upload the pics to Flickr or Picass and you'll see the location.

Yeah, I totally agree with you.
Euroman28, have you tried itje's ROM (ot other ROMs) with Topaz Camera? That Camera has the Geotagging feature too.
I have the new X1 ROM, and I see the satellite when I start the camera and I wait for the waves to show up so that I know it has locket, but when I take the picture, how do I see these coordinates afterwords. I couldn't find them anywhere.
And what software do I use to read them. I tried Picasa, but when I open the picture, there is a Geotag button underneath it, but it doesn't show me the location, but ask to add one.
So when I take a picture, with what software and how do I see this picture on the place on Earth that I took it???

Couldn't agree more. In fact, there is HTC footprint to do the same thing on X1 too.

Am I the only one who can't see the geo tag. Please, can someone answer my question.
Please guys, can someone help me use my geotagging too. Can someone answer the question I asked, please.
Hi everybody,
i've got the same problem. I am not able to get my photos geo-tagged by the camera. I've got the latest firmware update (R3AA007), but there is still no geo-tagging support. I've developed a simple windows app to read lang/long from exif, but it failed. I've also uploaded the photo to flickr, but there is just no geo-tagging.
I am really pissed off, because i've spend 600 euros for a device that has built in gps, but doesn't support geo-tagging. I will certainly not buy the successor and spend another 600 euros, just for some very trivial software changes.
Is there a difference between GPS and A-GPS?
But is there an application (on PC or WinMo) which can pinpoint the location, where you took the location, on a map?

A(ssist) GPS. If the name could you give you the answer. Why not google for "AGPS wiki". HTC Footprint can pinpoint the location on Google map.
I would suggest you found you try a cook rom (itje, me, or many others) with the new R3A camera apps (or HTC Camera) that support geo-tagging to EXIF.

Upload photo with G-Sensor ?

Hi.
A couple of days ago, I saw a guy with an HTC Diamond (just like mine ). He was uploading photos, as he was taking it, just making a "throw" movement with the mobile. Every time he shot a photo, he made that "throw" movement and the photo was immediately uploaded through Wi-Fi. Then the photo was loaded to his laptop.
I couldn't realize if he was uploading the photos to a kind of facebook or flickr site, or instead directly to the laptop (using an webserver). The fact is that the photos appeared in the browser every time he made that "throw".
Does anyone know some kind o application capable of doing that ?
Thanks a lot.
Is it possible to do with G-Trigger ?
Help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Have you seen that in Portugal?. If so, (and if it is what I think it is) the guys you've seen develloped that themselves as a concept demonstration, and it is not available.
But I'm sure it shouldn't be too hard to do it with something like g-trigger
Actually I saw it in Portugal (i'm Portuguese as you've guessed). @Porto, to be more specific. The guy seemed to be showing it to some other person or friend (??).
Anyway, I guess I'll try G-Trigger. Maybe using some key event driven chain.
Thanks a lot for your reply.

Geotagging software for Ozone

Hey all, thanks for all the awesomeness around here. I would really like to be able to geotag a photo when I take it. I have tried
locr - crashes upon first run of program, never opens
edit: in forum locr states that they do not support smartphones
gpsed - does not tag on the phone
GPSToday - not for smartphones
Any solutions? Thanks!

Well, there's a registry setting you can change to enable the GPS photo option, but unfortunately it seems there's more required to get it working as it's not actually adding the GPS information to the pictures.
yup
I just came back to update this with that info I found about the hklm/software/htc/camera/p9 enable change and if anyone had a smartphone solution with this. Yeah, no exif reader I use finds any location info in the header of the pics I take with gps photo...
So close I can taste it!
