Not new technology, but yes. The battery is lighter and stronger, but more cumbersome.
It's a Lithium Polymer battery.
Hope this helps :victory:

More charges, not sure about the consumption thing
A movie, explaining the technology in the battery that will also be in the Nexus 4:

Recently I bought 2 external battery pack.
First is the energizer xp4001 4000mah battery pack. This battery pack kind of only allows me to have one full charge and a quarter charger then it runs flat.
To me this is not right, the same battery pack allows my gf iPhone 4 to have a few full charges

To add on I bought another 1900 Mah arigo microusb battery pack.

It's supposed to do that.
It doesn't charge up to 100% to preserve the battery's health, it's designed this way.
If you really want it up to 100%, you can always bump charge it.

Also to note. Bump charging can cause problems, so read that to decide whether or not you want to do it.

I bought an 1800 mAh battery and was wondering about swapping between the 1500 and 1800 as needed -- will this mess with the battery stats?
No. Percentage is based on voltage.

Just so that you don't second guess kennyglass123, I second this. I swap between the stock 1500, two 1800s, and one 3500 all the time and have no problems.
Thanks for the info. What does wiping battery stats do then? Is that specific to the rom rather than battery?
Not a heckofa lot. It actually has little to do with battery calibration. Your battery goes from 4.2v which is 100% to 3.7v which is basically 0%.

you shouldn't have a problem downloading a 1 or 2gig movie within 30 minutes to an hr, it'll drain your battery half way regardless of kernel though.
If you're worried, you should stop pirating or Johnny Law will be on your rear. jkjk
To answer your question, just use it without connecting to the charger. Also, calibrating the battery is not necessary either.

So draining the battery regularly doesn't hurt it?
So in conclusion connecting the charger hurts the battery?

Keeping your battery at 100% all the time (letting your phone plugged into the charger) is literally the worst thing you could possibly do to the battery besides overheating it.
If you want to get the longest lifespan out of the battery, keep it between 40 and 80% and under 40°C (which is why the N4 starts throttling itself at 38°C)

Of course it will. It's a battery. They only have so many charge cycles. You can always buy another. With a little effort the battery can be swapped out.
That's right anyway I just wanted to know the least way I can damage the battery while downloading. ..do u have a suggestion

I can't give you advice on how to make piracy less damaging to your phone. That's against the rules.

I just had my lawyer answer a ~1800 euro claim for some song that had magically found its way into my torrent downloading software. He charged me 208€.
Don't download pirated media..
He never said he was downloading copyrighted material... plenty of legal Ubuntu torrents available and last time I checked that's not piracy

So in conclusion
I should download until the battery drops to 40% and then recharge it
2- never leave the device connected all day

I dont use wifi at all. So heavy use drains battery rather quickly. I dont like wall changers either.

Haven't used wifi on this phone due to T-Mobile's 40mbps LTE, It's literally impossible to blow through the whole battery in a day unless the screen is on for 12 hours. Generally it's around 60% battery when I go to bed after being off the charger for 14ish hours after a heavy use day.
Its worth acquiring the Korean model. F320K. It comes with 2 x 2600 mAh batteries and a docking station that allows the batter which is not in the phone to charge independently. It also has a microSD slot supoorting up to 64GB!

What networks can it run on?
http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g2-5543.php and all versions of the phone have all these bands I believe, the Korean versions have LTE A as a bonus.
