I plan on undergoing this process. As the title says. I believe the XPRT deserves ICS. And I wish to prove it. Anyone interested in helping or following please let me know!
Whoa thanks man! I wish I could help, but I know nothing about these things. Good luck! I would love to see ICS on this thing!

Do keep in mind though that I'm only 17 and still in high school and very frequently busy. I don't have tons of time.

Also. I believe I shall first do CM7. This is my first rom port after all.

The first task I am currently facing is the kernel. I need to get it from the stock rom. It's the only kernel for this phone and it is needed to run anything.

If anyone wants to join in. I'm no pro and I'm currently suffering from serious allergies or something. Either way I feel like death. This link is a base of what I'm doing somewhat http://apcmag.com/port-roms-to-your-android-device.htm
And I was using a official CM7 7.2.0 rom for a droid x as the secondary. It doesn't seem like the hardest task in the world honestly. Rongsang I think you should take this up. You probably have the skills to do so.
Sent from my MB612 using xda app-developers app
Sure. i'll download the cm7 for droid x and look into it,
I've decided to port CM7.2 rom from Defy as it has similar hardware as XPRT and it was previously successfully ported to Droid Pro. But I'm still unable to boot. Need some help.
Why are you unable to boot?

You have the kernel right? You cannot mix two different kernels. It will only work one device. So since no one has developed a kernel for the xprt you have 2 choices. Build your own. Or extract it from the stock.

This...actually doesn't look hard to do at all.
Sent from my MB612 using xda premium
It looks easier than it is. I'm still not able to make it boot. Its a bit harder with locked bootloader and 2nd-init. Can't seem to find a guide to port locked bootloaders with 2nd-init. Need somebody with experience to start off this project.

Maybe we should post this on the CyanogenMod forums to see if someone more experienced can help.

Has P3Droid obtained full access to the X? Or was the GB leak only allowed because it was a leak of the official. Will CM7 be possible one day?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
The only real progress I know of is the team working with kexec(sp). They bypassed the bootloader, but need drivers. Dev is pretty still...
As for P3, I was sure he had a dev phone that wasn't locked down at all. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
No p3 has dev phones. I think they got the wifi driver and are waiting on bluetooth. Although I haven't seen any new posts on the official bluetpoth thread for a while.

Wasn't there something a few weeks ago where someone 'discovered' the bootloader keys and told Motorola to release them or he would? Or is my brain playing tricks again?

There are other dev that have done it for other phones maybe a few might have a couple of hints for you. CMB on 3vo might be be helpful.

I ported 'er. She ain't too pretty, but she runs.
This may be a bit of a challenge PA is now closed source so removing paranoid preferences will have to be done. It'll still have everything to work for paranoid, but the app will need to be installed after flash. We are getting closer ladies and gents..

Hi! Im a noob and I dont mean to spam or anything like that but does anyone know if there is or if there will be unbuntu for the tmobile Gs4.Is it possible that there might be a zipfile that you could just flash ubuntu through recovery onto the Gs4. Thanks in advance.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
Once there is a AOSP (or, more widely, primary used by Ubuntu, CyanogenMod) ROM/source code, your good to go to port it yourself, easily.

Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
Yes I live in the u.s. I cant port it Im not a dev..
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
It's not too hard to port, with some googling and help from the community it should be possible.
If you live in the U.S. you have to think about CDMA and your phone carrier would have to do that. You could port it but it would be a waste of time.

Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 just got staple for the S4. I would be interested in having Ubuntu Touch on my S4 (international lte, jfltexx).
Lets see if I can do this even though I have never use C++ or done anything else on a OS.

It being unlocked has no reference to running it on AT&T.
Tmk there was a boot loader issue. Maybe it was w the Note 3 though

I don't even know what cornerstone is, maybe asking in a thread where it's actually used.
A normal person would look it up. Don't be an ass.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I think I remember reading in other threads here that cornerstone hasn't been updated to function with current versions of android and porting it would be incredibly difficult... Unless I'm thinking of a different mod...

I don't think it's out of line to expect the OP to include relevant information in a request thread.

The last that I saw on it was that it was not exactly playing well with 4.2.2. It has a nasty habit of breaking other apps, causing users to give them poor reviews in the play store. As such, the Android team has justifiably threatened to ban roms that use Cornerstone from the play store.

they are going to offer the same rom, they want to make a pc installer too!
As long as it stays android I would say it's great, but it almost reads as it may be a new os. Really found it interesting more than anything
