I found a Viewpad 10S, nearly new, for very low price on Ebay. I had to Buy it!
I've tried using two different Bluetooth Keyboards, with ViewComb 3.2 and JellyBean Rom.
When WIFI is turned on together with a connected bluetooth keyboard, keys are working for a while, then
it beginns, in every aplication, that one key gets locked, and so it is not possible to use
bluetooth keyboard f.e. with surfing in a browser.
exsample:
---> google-search for xda developers
i tipe ---> xda devvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv...
---> endles "v" until i turn wifi off, or wait for a while.
can also be a number, another letter, even commands, "back" f.e.
the keyboard work, with wifi off perfect. or on other devices. my xperia mini pro f.e.
is there a chance for a solution?
P.S.
I post the Question in this forum, becuase i think, this has to do with WIFI, Bluetooth Drivers in the custom Roms

This forum is not that active. The most action is going on at the tabletroms forum.
The only reason that you have this problem could be that wifi and bluetooth together is not a good combination. This is because of the way the tablet is constructed. It is using the same antenna for both wifi and bluetooth and there is just not enough bandwith to serve both. You will see that when you connect an bluetooth stereo headset and listen to streaming music.... It is just not possible. So i think that with your keyboard it is the same problem..

ok...
that is an answer. i will have a look on the board next days...
maybe i can find the point, where the wires of BT and WIFI come together. if so, i could try to seperate both lines and
set a second antenna, f.e from an old BT-Stick. i will have a look, if this problem is hardware-hackable...
but there is still my opinion, this problem can also be solved, by software.
the stock-rom of the pad, doesn't have this problem. i've tried it some days before. there were no problem to use
BT and WIFI, in different constulations, together.

That software is in place (abtfilter)

Its a problem with frequency of Bluetooth and WiFi. They are both 2.4ghz and cause interference, not much can be done really. If Vega supports 5ghz WiFi that might be worth a shot, would require you to probably change router.
Its common issue with most devices (my nexus 7 and Vega too).

sounds interresting!
at the moment i use viewcomb...last version...
sometimes i try the one ore the other tweak...but am not so familiar with linux. so i have to wait, if a pro
will have a serious look on this problem.
not beeing able to use BT and WIFI together takes many options of device away

Beta available with BT/WiFi possibly fixed
Moving to General forum as this is a question thread.

Guess I must be missing something, but I can't see what all the A2DP dramas are about.
I have a new Jasjam and BlueAnt X5 stereo bluetooth headset and I got the skiping problem the first time I tried it. I soon discovered switching off WiFi completely fixed this and then I read about the reg hack to get stereo working.
Now my setup works perfectly.
Is there something wrong with me?
No, join the club. Worked right out of the box for me too.

"Completely"? How? Just keep it off in Connection Manager? Or something else/more? I've never used WiFi on my JASJAM and I still have skipping, even with the WIDCOMM stack.
Its all headset based. I'll add the ?BlueAnt X5 to the rather short list that works out of the box. The other ones I know of are the Nokia HS012W and the I-tech clips.

Shame. Looks like I need to find a replacement for my SE HBH-DS970.
Where can I find your list? Is it "Internal Use Only. For Sleuth255's eyes only." ?

Ahh, no there was meant to be a comma in there... switching off WiFi, (comma) completely fixed it.
Yes just in Comm Manager.
Thanks esseff. What excitement a single comma can cause . . .
I guess I'll wait for AKU3.3 before deciding for a replacement for the DS970.
I can also confirm that the Nokia HS-12W works right out of the box.

I don't have any problems with my I-Tech R35, but there are reports from other people who do. I always try to keep the number of simultaneous tasks down to a minimum, and close apps as I go along. Being tidy, and not loading the device, I intuitively believe helps reduce problems.
I don't think it's quite as simple as just being a headset problem, although it's certainly a contributory factor (another is definitely the distance - inversely proportional to distance squared - the headset unit is from the phone unit when using a2dp over bluetooth).
Hi,
This thread might be ELF specific related as on other devices the problem with the same GPS receivers is not happening!
I own 2 Elf's one running plain original rom and one running Touch Surface and 2 different Bluetooth GPS receivers one is an Adapt AD850 and an el cheapo one GPS20C orso both of them are using passkey's of 4 digits.
I have now for an huge time problems with TomTom connecting to the GPS. It connects sometimes but looses the connection direct after an few seconds. Then it takes ages to get an reconnection or sometimes it won't connect even. But when it has an connection it seems to work fine and i can navigate for hours.
If i switch off orso and want to reconnect the same problems but sometimes it connect directly and works perfect.
When i have connection problems some things might seem to help to get an connection: Switch GPS off and on, Setup in TomTom the GPS again, Disable and enable Bluetooth.
I have tried to pair different times with the GPS but this makes no difference and it also make no difference which GPS i use or wich Elf i use.
The most strange in the whole story is that i previously had an GPS that needed no pass key for pairing and never had these problems. Also the TomTom version makes no differens. Offcourse i tried on one elf various roms and radio versions but this makes no difference.
Oh well maybe santa is bringing me an real navi system
Thanx,
Jerome
This may be obvious but its worth me saying - have you got the phone enabled?
Reason is I often turn my phone off and use my Touch as a mp3 player / video etc and when i fire up the tomtom and GPS reciever if the phone is in an off state then totmtom never gets a proper connection. I spent ages trying to figure out why it only worked sometimes and the realised it was due to the phone connection. Why tomtom needs the phone on I dont know but it wont work otherwise.
Sorry double posted

Well no solution .. still drops GPS connections and take ages before getting an connection.
Have overclocked the Elf to 273 Mhz now and seems an bit more stable so might be an TomTom Issue with high cpu usage ?
I have searched the Desire hd section for any Bluetooth problems, but seems that im the only one with a problem????!!!
My Bluetooth conectivty SUCKS with any headsets!
i have tried 4 diffrent headsets! and all "god" ones.
But i get the same result, as soon as i move i get lots of bad sound (Donw know how to explane, but like a Tv sound without a signal)
and i have to have the phone at a maximum of 5-10 cm so i can get a "good" listning sound.
The person who talkes with me have no problems.
I tested with 3 diffrent Nokia BT
one of them is bh-606
Jabra Bt as well.
I have the latest firmware. But lots of apps in my phone? can that cause a problem?
Try settings/energy saving function/ deactivate bluetooth. (Turn off)

Hmm Thanks but that only says that it will close Bt connection while there are no calls active?!
I can alsaw add that my Wifi Connection sucks aswell. tried it with 3 routers. and if im not in the same room so the connection is not even detected! But if im in the same room i came upp to 18 mb download with a speed test app. So the Range seems to be a problem both for the BT and Wifi.
Update your radio. Find how to by reaching.

isnt that the latest radio?
The settings/energy saving function/ deactivate bluetooth. (Turn off)
Didnt help
And i really dont wanna make a hard reset and reinstall all my apps and settings! and i dont have root so i can make a backup of all that.
1,72.405.3 is rom, not radio
look in the development forums, in one of the stickys there are the radios listed
but u'll need root + other things to flash a new radio

Thanks for the advice, but cant have root with the new firmware!
Have even tested more on the BT part and discovered that whenever im nearby any Electrical eqwipment like Pc or Tv it gets even worst!
At best its when i have it in 10 cm distance and with no electrical things around! and not moving at all. then its Near Okej.

Plz Any help here?
Need to use BT units while driving + at work and i cant!
Edit:
i did a little test today with a Stereo Bt unit!
then bt connection works well!
so it seems that the problem is a software issue and its only with mono bt units!!!
Yet a nother sieries of tests!
I have now concloded that its the Mono Bt units i have problems with, and that its a software issue!
I used the BT in my car, and the sound works without any problems..
And i tested with a Nokia Stereo Bt, and same there, even upp to 10 m i have a clear sound..
SO it seems to be only with regular mono Bt units i have this problem!
Any tips?
I encountered unstable Wifi tethering with my macbook air since I started using misc. ICS ROMs. The IP communication is lost and I need to disable and re-enable wifi on the macbook to continue communication.
After fighting this bug for months, I believe I have found the cause and a workaround solution:
I believe the problem is caused by putting the Android phone too close to the macbook air. Apparently the transmit level is too high.
Putting the phone at least 1 meter away from the macbook seems to solve the problem.
I travel 2 hours/day on the train with tethering on. I need to put the phone behind my back to have a stable connections.
Personally, I've never had an issue tethering my Macbook Air to my Note.
Then again, I'm using Bluetooth tethering anyway.....
Why not try that instead?
Regards,
Dave

Thanks,
I used bluetooth for some time but this had some other disadvantages (I cant remember - slower? interruptions in the music on my bluetooth headset? - more battery use ? )

I've not had a speed issue myself, and I believe that BT tethering should always use less battery than WiFi.
Whilst I do frequently used BT headphones, I never do so whilst tethered.

Dave

This is exactly what happens with my Verizon Galaxy S3 with CM10 and my MacBook Air.
I will try your solution and see if it helps...
Thanks for posting your findings!
I also found by setting the MTU size to 1453 seemed to help.

Have a stock unrooted N4 running the new 4,4,3.
Updated to 4,4,3 solely in the hope it would solve the bluetooth disconnects experienced. Note I did not have 'stuttering' or the like, just solid disconnects which would then auto reconnect in 30-60 sec unfortunately stopping my music app which would then need to be restarted and since I primarily use the BT on my bike or motorcycle it is obviously a pain ....
!!!!!!!!!!!! the update not only has not stopped the disconnects it has now introduced stuttering on occasion (not all the time) ....
Here's where I am at:
1. Live with it until Google finally realizes IT'S A PHONE not a camera or whatever and solves the BT problem or gets the BT folks to do it. (really can't believe they can't solve this or is it just an N4 problem?)
2. Root the phone, install TiBU, backup, wipe and install 4.4.3 factory images, reroot and recover stuff from TiBU ... all this in the hope the BT problem goes away ... chances of this?????
3. Give up and install CM which people say does not have this BT problem ... true??????
Thanks in advance to all for your help and opinions ..........
Could it be
Could it be the BT device itself? Does it work like a charm with other devices?

That's a great question and I am sorry I did not include the info in my original post ... the problem is evident with several different BT devices and these same BT devices work fine connected to other things ..... but not with the N4

Has it always been stock? Perhaps your BT adapter in the device is faulty itself. I've ran two different headsets off of mine in the past year as well as connected to my PC and other phones with no issues at all. I've been rooted running beanstock right from day 1 though..

Yup ... always stock ... when new on whatever version was current then (can't remember) did not have this problem and BT worked fine ........ when they went to the 'low power' BT solution it started.
Was really hoping this update would solve the disconnect problem.
