[Q] When to calibrate battery ? - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys :victory:
So..
When to calibrate the Defy ? I'm using Quarx's CM10, always latest version. (I have a Defy+)
So I'd like to know when I should calibrate my Defy.., after each update ?
Or only after a kernel update... etc ?
Me when I calibrate my Defy:
I discharge it fully.
I charge it to 100% (and few minutes more to be sure..), switched off.
I wipe battery states using custom recovery.
Then I reboot, I use it etc.. xD
Finally I do 2 or 3 fully discharges and charges...
Okay that's it, thanks you in advace for your replies ! :good:

I read you should calibrate after installing new roms. And I use an app called battery calibration found in the play store. Erases battery stats for you without having to go into recovery.

Battery Issue!

My Xperia arc is working fine and my battery performance is OK. But, the battery percentage is always showing at 85%, in the status settings and in numerous apps I tried. Is there anyway to fix this issue so that I can monitor my battery percentage?
I've already tried hard reset. The phone is rooted so installing a custom ROM is an option if that would work?
Also, I have the fixtool for fixing the 0% battery issue, maybe that will work?
Any help will be much appreciated and I will give thanks to a response
Thanks in advance

Oh also I am running original UK generic firmware ending in 183 and running a custom doomlord kernel, the one used to fix the 0% battery issue.

[Q] I installed your stuff and my battery % is stuck. Can you help?
[A] Make sure you dont have a task killer messing with the apk fix - it must runs ALL THE TIME to monitor peripheral usage. Also, make sure you installed the correct version of kernel and apk fix - check app version and kernel version, to make sure you have latest version. Also, you need to be on correct stock firmware version before patching the kernel. If all versions are ok, try to stop the apk fix service and clean app data. If this cannot help, flash stock firmware (watch out to match the firmware version and kernel version), wipe the data, patch the kernel, and install app fix.

Did you try this:

After installing this zip go to /data/system/ and delete batterystats.bin.
Charge your phone to 100% and then drain it to 0.

Note 3 n9005 Omega v21 Rom Battery Drain

Hello. Since I installed omega v19 rom and up until now that I use the latest v21 I have a huge battery drain from android os and android system. Here are some pics. I've tried to do everything I think that could help. I've closed location services - wi-fi - mobile data- I've installed the omega rom with full wipe and without any extra app installed. I've done a wipe data from the recovery. And still the problem doesnt go away. It's really annoying! In 9 hours without wifi and without even open the screen, I have 74% battery.... Until i write this topic with only wifi open and brightness to 20% the battery is 68%! Please help me. Thank you in advance!

I have had similar issues. [1].
At least in my case all NF4 based ROMs (including stock) drained the battery like crazy (~20+%/h when *idle*).
The problem was solved by installing the latest CM 11 nightly (CM11M8 has CPU governor issues that causes it run @2+ Ghz during idle).
Couple with some selective Google sync configuration, I'm currently averaging ~0.8%-1.5%/h when idle.

Thank you for you response my friend. Sorry although because I dont know what cm11nightly is. I suppose from this things you said that it is somekind of cpu adjuster for the phone when the screen is off or something like this. If you have some time I would be very gratefull if you explain to me some more things about CM 11. Install-use- etc..

Sorry for the stupid question I've made to you earlier. Ive searched and see that it is a different rom from mine. Thank u. But I like omega very much. My phone never freezes or reboots with this rom. Any idea for the omega rom?

Sorry for the late reply.
ROM aside, I'd suggest you install some type of CPU monitoring application (E.g. BetterBattryStatus+) and see if your CPU is locked at maximum speed (>= 2Ghz). This might cause over-heating and random reboot.
I had the exact same problem. Changing from the omega kernel to stock kernel helped solve my problem
With stock kernel you have less battery drain but you still have.

Battery wont go more or less than 1%

Goodmorning guys, i have Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo with Resurrection-Remix rom, everthing was fine untill i flashed xposed zip file, now my phone shows all the time that my battery level is 1% but it isn't, i can't figure it out why? how? and how to solve this false battery percantage stats without reinstalling rom. Im wondering can you guys help me solve the problem. Thanks.
You need to recalibrate the batterystats file since you installed a new ROM. You can do so by looking up "battery calibration [root]" in Play Store - just install the first app and follow the instructions.
