according to the latest news of Ivan Autumn, “u+年后由drt团队更新。目前仅限于4.1,我准备跳过4.2,等5.0。 @pikachukaki4 @ax918” --- quoted from Ivan's Sina Weibo (a chinese mini blog like twitter), which means U8800pro's devs are gonna be updated by the drt team (a branch of Shendu team) after Chinese lunar new year, but only supporting 4.1 so far. He himself will skip 4.2, and wait for 5.0.
so as we can happily see 4.2 is NOT the END of U8800pro!!!
everybody hooray!!!

people always want their devices to keep up2date, and new stuffs are always being welcomed. if there really is KLP, that will make everyone of us feel Upro is quite a legend!!! and awesome still, 4.1 is surely to be fixed soon!
like Huawei is going to release u8800pro base for KLP..lets have a working 4.2.1 for a start.KLP won't be out till late summer 2013..
Great thread ...
Hooooraaayyyyy android 5 is coming ...
Great , great , great , we don't even have a stable GB rom yet , and we are ready for android 5 ...
Please when android 6 and 7 or maybe 10 will be released , pleeeeeaaaase inform us immediately ....

I haven't yet figured out what you want to do with your phone. I with ics do not have stock and b928 I never had any problems. Reflect
Shouldnt ppl try to make stable ICS rom first? JB is buggy as hell, and now they talk about 5 already?
And maybe someone could point out most stable ICS rom which is most stable right now?

i guess official KLP is nearly impossible, and let's not hope 4.2.1 to be perfect, all i wish is that 4.1's bugs can be fixed, and have a KLP to have a taste of.

the official b928 works very well to me, after rooting it, unlocking fps and altering the kernal with geno's overclock one, it is running super smooth and stable with a perfect touch screen. i think this is the most stable ics. if you need any help or there is any questions, just email me. Good joke
That's good news but I think that a stable 4.1 or 4.2.1 would be better. Now about drt team. I'm quite sure that pika has already said that. Ivan stopped working on U+ and gave his work to drt team to continue. Now about KLP is STILL just a rumor. Nothing released yet. Remember that Huawei has completely abandoned this phone (oldest rom by Huawei for U+ is ICS)

i'm using the one i attached below, i get this directly from a Chinese forum, so i'm not sure if it is the same one as Pika have posted (but i guess so). so far for like 2 weeks i have not yet come across any random reboots..... not once it's working stable to me.
Good News
We can try the new features on our phone is a good thing, If someone need stability can go 2.2 ROMs, And someone need good features can try the new version. I don’t think that everyone updating their phone is for stability. Waiting for it…………………
Oh no ... 2 weeks, it will write sh1t here in this thread. There is nothing new but still a new topic. Someone has to clean up. Please!

Because bbqlinux its hard to install some updates. Compiling gives alot of errors. I'm switching my OS on Ubuntu 13.04 by this friday

@Hashy what happened to your old Kernel and ROM that you would start from scratch ?? I mean any reason for that ?? y not continue dev. cuz that would be easier and faster isn't it.. did the old ROM boot ? did you boot into 4.3 yet I mean through any means ?

And that's the reason why we don't have 3.4 kernel and 4.3 ROM yet. It's because nobody wants to share work with others or work together on one kernel and one ROM. Anyway i wish you all luck.
hmmm.. unity is strength.. Xperia play is no more about Cosmic Dans Turbo Kernel.. or Lupus's Kernel.. or AOKP or CyanagenMod.. (I mean all this in a good way) we need a "ROM" 4.2/4.3 for Xperia Play and a "Kernel" for Xperia Play.. the brand, the dev, no matters no more.. and the way things are,, I really think dev's should team up to make one Good Rom.. and One Good Kernel.. cuz I don't think Xperia Play would last till Android 6.0 .. so just this device one good last push.. and see how things work out. Split work will only increase/duplicate work.. delay the ROM/Kernel and maybe the ROM would never get rid of bugs.
Guys I don't think teaming up is going to happen, the old thread got deleted so I can't show you any of the stuff that happened. But it got pretty nasty so lets not bring working together up and just focus on getting a stable 4.3 build for our Xperia Play's

Actually yes that seems like a good idea, as 4.3 is only a minor update of 4.2 and people have had success on the play before building 4.2 (without wifi though). But my main concern is being ready for 4.4, which if it is as ram light as everyone says and runs just as fast as gingerbread as everyone is saying, would be perfect for our Xperia Play's. But beggars can't be choosers as I always say

Probably you haven't understand the problem: the problem wasn't you using some of the lxp's commits, the problem was you not asking permissions like everyone else; now probably mike want let you use his work as a base, but it isn't because he is selfish and didn't allow the other people to use his work, it is because you go against the common rule

Hello friends,
Android 4.4 has been released yoday along woth nexus 5.
As per Google , they said that android 4.4 wil support lower end devices as well.
Any hopes of our G3 getting a stable version of official touchwizz kitkat or at least a CM11 version?
What's your though?

Well now google says that it is optimised for devices with 512mb of ram but g3 only has 256mb and also we would need a newer kernel such as 3.10 or at least 3.4 to get it fully working, so sadly I think that g3 won't have fully working kitkat The only person which could make it working is marcellusbe I think but now he is gone

Well you're right kitkat is running in kernel 3.8 so we need newer kernel hillbeast has left the project 3.4.x cause he was working from scratch and it was to much work but on the otherhand it is still possible if marcellusbe and hillbeast and few other devs return and continue tge project then it could be running our g3 cause jb and ics where running on our 256mb ram and they where not build to run with 512mb but kitkat is so our only hope are our devs
Edit: look at it this way I have xperia arc s it's a 2011 phone and devs made from scratch 3.0.8 kernel then updated it to 3.4 so it possible to build a newer kernel we just a few good devs but all of them have left

That could be true but then kitkat will not run as good as with kernel 3.4 cause the newer kernels got better memory optimisation than the old kernel 2.6.x
Also when we use 2.6.x kernel the drivers would be old and crappy so making it compactible was allready a horrible job with ICS and JB and making it compactible with KK is going to be a nightmare getting a proper working KK will be something to dream of let's try to finish JB first don't get to hasty

Android 4.4 is sure a delicious treats for GT-S5360 Galaxy Y.
I tried searching the forum and the web but I don't seem any Android 4.4 custom ROM is going on for this lil'phone, and I don't think Samsung will update it any sooner.
May I have some news for that???
Or SGY is too old for 4.4?
Buddy 4.4 is for 512ram at least phone I think that's the minimal requirements. Our SGY doesn't even taste the ICS. We should start switching phone I guess. That's why I switched to nexus 4.

Before posting at least have some search done. The device which doesn't even have ICS and you are asking for kitkat., I mean like is this for serious? Please throw that SGY or bury it deep, it's not getting any update, nor any further CM either. R.I.P
Well the main reason for Android 4.4 to build was to upgrade those who are still stuck with Gingerbread. Most of the people accounting to 33% of total population still use Gingerbread. Google's main motive was to upgrade them. But it all depends upon the manufacturer. In our case , it is Samsung who are not going to upgrade Samsung Galaxy Y, as the phone is obsolete with older hardware and good for nothing camera. But surprisingly , it is still in production. And there's a confusion with many people, let me clear it..... Android 4.4 update is not you Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 , it is for Samsung Galaxy Young S6312
