I was just wondering is there any ROMS for the Droid x .621 I have tryed multiple ones from Rom Manager and I always get bricked. I cannot seem to find any one this site specifically for .621. Can anyone help me?
did you install d2 bootstrap first, and run it then update cwm with dx 2nd init from rom manager
edit: any gb rom should work on 621

I have a Droid 2 with 2.3.20. I am new to installing roms on my device. I downloaded one to try, and it specifically said that is was for devices with 2.3.320/340. I thought maybe I was imagining some kind of type or something. However, when I installed the rom, I got stuck in a bootloop and had to flash an sbf to restore my phone. My question is....is 2.3.20 different from 2.3.320/340? I definitely want to try out some different roms, but most of them say they are for 320 or 340 and I don't want to have to sbf again. If my version of 2.3.20 is different, how do I get 2.3.320/340? Thanks ahead for your help.
2.3.320/340 is the Droid X. A lot of devs build roms for the DX then port them to the D2. 2.3.20 should be fine for any current roms for the D2. I can verify that Fission, GummyJAR and Liberty will work with 2.3.20 as I've flashed them.

If its on froyo you can root with z4 if you on the OTA for gingerbread there is not one click root yet. Use Droid 2 bootstrap it works on froyo and gingerbread where as Droid x bootstrap only works on froyo

Ok, I need to stop you right there. I've seen TONS of people post wrong information on the whole Droid 2 / Droid X bootstrap and what works with what, so don't feel singled out.
Droid X bootstrap works perfectly fine on GB. You just need to disable USB Debugging in Settings first. If you don't, it won't boot into recovery. Droid 2 bootstrap works as well, but if he already has Droid X bootstrap, there's no reason to make him search for Droid 2.

Why, oh why, would you want your recovery to be crippled in any way when you could replace it in 2.2 seconds? http://www.mediafire.com/?g8l7vy0futbc4g5
@op
If on Froyo:
-Start at step two of GB instructions
If on GB:
-SBF back to Froyo (google)
-Root with really any method, nothing special
-Install d2 bootstrapper as I posted above
-Install rooted OTA from TeamBlackHat aka mydroidworld.com
-???
-profit

Crippled? Your recovery isn't crippled in any way whatsoever if you use DX bootstrap. What are you talking about??
People can use whatever they want, I don't care, just hate to see wrong information spread around.
Ok
So I am gonna have to root the old school way, she is on gb. I am mainly looking to get rid of all the bull**** bloatcrap that Verizon loads, she doesn't care about custom roms. She actually likes the new blur. (whatever floats her boat).
You can also sbf back to froyo, use z4 root, then flah a pre-rooted gb leak. Personally that's what I would do

Hi. I want to download a ROM of Bumblebee 2.4 onto my newly rooted Droid X, but I can't find anything on any website. The closest I came to getting it was this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053842
The trouble is, I can't understand it, because I'm new to rooting, and I don't even know if it'll work on the Droid X. Can someone help me out here?
That is not a Droid X rom.
You can find roms made for the Droid X in the Development section over on Rootzwiki.

I have dx2 but my daughter just got a DX. Cm7 wiki says to downgrade is their a way to do this, from what I'm reading it's not possible on 621

Unofficial cm builds are for gingerbread kernels.(your phone)
Official cm builds are for froyo builds.
Rootzwiki has them.
If u need to root, look in the droid x development forum on xda.
Yes, it's possible. Do a light SBF (Google: 1KDS Linux SBF Method) to .604 while keeping .15p radio band. After that, root .604, install Droid 2 Bootstrap, bootstrap recovery, then install CM7.
Hope that helps.

Hi all,
Just wondering if someone could help me out or at least link me to somewhere that will. I haven't been able to find anything.
I just want to downgrade from ICS to a good Gingerbread ROM. I've always owned HTC phones before so doing anything to this droid scares me.
When I bought the phone it was on stock .621
I have the latest CWM flashed.
Let me know if any other info is needed.
621 is gingerbread
you need d2 bootstrap first
read how to install and use bootstrap
