Trust me I seen many tutorials. And can't even understand what they talking about. Is there any easy tutorial? And believe me, the nine patch image which I have used in my breaking blue theme for status bar close and on is not exactly a nine patch image. I did some play around with it.

Well nine patch image is a stretchable image. It is used in the place where we can't use a fixed image. For example, pop up boxes. The pop up boxes are differ from place to places. So we are using a nine patch in there. The nine patch image file name should look like this Filename.9.png . We can't edit this image like we normally do for other pictures. For more you can google it.

Use optimize-images option in apk multi-tool,
Also convert the file to RGB or GR in photoshop or whatever image processing software you use, since some 9.png's are indexed by default,
Dont forget to reoptimize after editing

For that indexed image problem, first use paint.net to open the indexed image And save it as normal png. Now you can open the image like normal one. Just now i read this trick, didnt tried it yet. Will try and report.

The purpose of optimization is used to reduce the size of the image files in output. A well optimized images in apk leads to faater loading of the apk. Low size (optimized) = faster loading. Due to the optimization of images, we get indexing pro lem in images.

Nope. I let it update itself.
Pretty simple... Post up ONLY photos taken in photosphere and ONLY if they were taken with either a Nexus S or Nexus S 4G... If possible, include links to them on G+ so we can see them in full 360... You can also post up any "tiny planet" photos if they came out good!!
I'll start first with one i took outside my apartment when i was first learning the 4.2 camera... No G+ link for this one because i don't know how to share the link from my phone... Someone else with a computer can look me up on there and post the link since its a public image!! Enough chatter on with the pics...

I wish the box would show the current image to help with lining up the photo, so until/if that happens, what are your tips for making everything line up properly? Do you try to pivot while keeping the lens in a static position?

I try to hold the phone in the exact same spot and just move like i am the tripod lol... Takes a few tries to get good at it... Start by doing just a few pics left/right and up/down... You don't have to practice with a full 360 photo...
Here's one i took yesterday at church... Its not a full 360... But maybe about 120 degrees of that space... There was obviously movement because of people an lights... But i think it came out good!

The settings are actually in the app itself, what we need are librarys for the app to work.
It crashes looking for "rateconv" library.
EDIT: rateconv is in /lib/ of the dump, its "librateconv.so". Pushing this to /lib/ on my HTC One gplay lets the settings open but it immediately closes itself.
Ok, now it's crashing cause it doesn't have the motorola settings app, so you were right I guess.

Has anyone else has trouble changing the wallpaper and then having the status bar and the soft keys lose their transparency?
Or better yet, has anyone been successful in changing their wallpaper and keeping they're transparency settings? I'm having trouble pinpointing the cause, because it doesn't always happen right away...
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks!

And transparency doesn't work with Apex, etc. (along with some other things which Apex does not get right.)
Yeah I solved part of the problem, I think.. Because even the preloaded ones were having issues. I had a wallpaper app (great wallpapers, just doesn't seem compatible) that seemed to mess everything up with the build prop I suppose. I love how expansive the screen looks - so I rather just choose from the preloaded ones and still have the transparency on the top and bottom.
By the way, I have the T-Mobile one (got it online). I also downloaded the Verizon wallpapers and they work fine.

Thanks!

Ok, that s***s right. This feature is borrowed from the S4's i guess. I like it all transparent too. I don't have the phone yet but if your phone is rooted using file explorer go to system-->customize-->resource there you should see the stock wallpapers. Try replacing one of the wallpaers with yours and see if that keeps the transparency. Not sure about the process but give it try if you like.

Try searching under system-->customize-->resource using es file explorer. If they are not there simply search for the stock wallpaper names and look up their properties for the location.

Yeah, I think I'm getting more into the bottom of this. For starters, the main reason I had the issue before was due to the wallpaper app. Using the native wallpaper adjuster, I've been able to at least keep the transparency when using stock wallpapers (from other models, like I mentioned). Additionally, I just noticed that it will also keep the transparency if you use a photo taken with the camera.
After I deleted the wallpaper app though it's been working better.
Nahh.. Just kidding. Setting my own photos keeps my transparency for the soft keys (arguably the most important part, since it's the larger of the two), but leaves the transparency of the status bar at about 50%.
I can live with that. I'm guessing that with root and a decent ROM this "bug" could be taken care of. Thanks with the help this far though.

Ok now i downloaded the stock wallpapers from the theme section and looked up for their names. In the picture below look for the stock image names. Try searching one of the names using softwares like "ES File explorer". It should locate the wallpaper, if it does look for the properties.
Let me know if it works.

Here is a little trick I ran across. The lock screen wallpaper inherits the transparency attributes from the main screen. So if I put my own pic on lock screen, it will have transparency if home page is transparent. There may be more to it, but that is all I have seen to date.

That's what I wanted to do. So it's not possible? Is there a location for the icons that I can access with root to replace it?
LG G2
U can. U have to find the icon image and change it. I used to change the stock icons of different roms using number of tools myself when i had nexus and s3. But it's too much work.

I downloaded CleanRom to my pc and used 7zip to find the file (its in "LGHome_Theme_Optimus.apk"). Look in the "drawable-xxhdpi" folder for the png labeled "lg_dockmenu_ic_allapps.png" Then replace it with whichever png you like. You should name it whatever the original png in the app was named.

Can I just copy the lghome_theme*******.apk to my pc, make changes(png, name), then copy paste it to the phone in the proper location, change permissions, and good? Do I need to unzip, make changes, re-zip? Just looking for a little clarification, as this would be my first time doing this kind of mod.
Thanks for any help.

Yes, icon themer works great, but it doesn't change the App drawer icon on the Verizon phone, stock launcher.

So i found these files on my AT&T version with Solid Explorer and want to try to replace the LG Optimus theme with one of the downloaded ones I've found by renaming and overwriting, but I don't know how the accompanying odex file works and if I need to change that also. I really just need the aosp app drawer icon changed. Any ideas?

Or doesn't change the app drawer icon though, which is the goal of this whole post. Check out your app drawer icon in the picture, its still gray with the white squares. So is mine, plus changing my dpi changes up its size.
And has anyone found how to remove icon labels from the home screen on stock launcher? It looks a lot cleaner without them.
