Hi guys, i decided to flash JellyBlast rom, but i'm using merruk pre finaç 2.0 kernel, and JellyBlast needs to be stock to flash. Well, i did not found how to flash back to stock kernel. I want to do it via CWM, because odin always does wrong with my phone...So, i tried to find how to extract the kernel or someting but i didnt figout out how to. My baseband version is UTLG1, so if you guys could help me providing the kernel and a little tutorial reaching me how to flash it, it would be just amazing !! Thanks

I followed this tutorial but i still don't know how to flash the kernel via CWM
Another question: Could i remove the .md5 extension, so it will be .tar, and then extract the boot.img with winrar and flash it?

i replied to your PM

Flash the stock kernel Via odin , put the File in the PDA , then start flashing
G.L

Is it possible to flash via CWM? Odin usually doesn't work for me...

i had never seen a stock kernel .zip !
sorry

Theres a new methoed by mai77, which is explained in the second post of this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1550065 . But i dont know how to flash the stock kernel using it

Well before installing savie kernel i googled how to backup kernel nd i guess it did backuped the stock kernel nd i have still got the backup and the flashable .zip file which can help u but..

miui
I recommend that you go to http://miuiandroid.com/community/
from there just select the type of miui you want and there should be instructions. You can also google "MIUI <country name>" for more country/language oriented versions of it. Installations of MIUI will usually root your device by default so you don't have to mess around with it.
Hope that helps.
Can any one give me detatiled instruction ??
How do i root...cwm nd do i need to upgrade latest firware ???

Flash stock ginger bread rom through odin. Then flash a kernel (cf-root for example) through odin. Now you have cwm recovery. Copy the zip file of ics rom (I recommend aokp rom by bhuvan) to the phone. Go into recovery and do full wipe and flash the rom.zip. If you end up into bootloops then open recovery again, do full wipe and flash the zip file again.
Really, 'HI'?.....go to Facebook dude, xda is for nOObs and trolls only and yeah also those weird people......mhmmmm......mhhhmmmm...me . ≈_≈

Once you flash the cf-root kernel the cwm is installed automatically. For links, go to android development section and find the threads for each particular thing.
every thing is avalable...you just need to search

Root I9100 XXLSJ JB Firmware on International Galaxy S II

Helo guys,
Most of you might have eagerly downloaded the leaked firmware and anxiously flashed the rom last night. But might have been stuck at getting root.
CAUTION: Flashing CF root or Some other version of Siyah Kerne will soft brick the device ending up at Boot screen.
Ok now.!! Root is now avaiable through PhilZ CWM v3.1 kernel.
This is a just a guide to those searching for root and ending up in bricks flashing old cf roots and siyah kernels.
1) Download the zip fie from the link given at the end of post.
2) Put it on to the SD Card
3) Switch off ur Phone.
4) Enter Stock Recovery by pressing Power+Home+Vol.up buttons at once and hold.
5)Now flash the zip by selecting Install zip from SDCard.
6) Reboot and Enjoy the Rooted Awesome Jellybean firmware on galaxy s2

Good to know. Could you please provide step-by-step detail. I have JB 4.1.2 XXLSJ installed on the GT-I9100. I tried ODIN v1.85 and 3.04 but it does not take the Philz CWM 3.1 zip file. It looks for tar, smd, md5, gz, tgz. What steps do I need to take to make this file work with ODIN?

Is it possible to unroot this firmware? I have Philz Kernel installed. Reason for wanting unroot is I want to use the Pingit app which requires an unrooted phone. I plan to re root after using it.

I'm trying to root the XXLSJ with Philz kernel, but it seems that I won't succeed...I copied the file on my SD card, entered the stock recovery mode but there's no such line as 'Install zip from sd card'. So, I'm not able to install the kernel thru stock recovery. What should I do? Thx!!!

If you already rooted the phone then you can install ROM Manager which can be used to flash the latest CWM recovery image.

you are providing wrong information,
ROM manager does not work with some kernels and could potentially result in a software malfunction,
@op and everyone else having the same question:
please just read the original instructions from the kernel developer to ensure success of the installation

Kernel change

Can I change kernels without changing the roms I wanna keep stock Rom and maybe change kernel to maybe the gs4 more snappy and maybe add the lag free stuff but in order do this I need to change kernels how do I do this ? Is there and app or do I do with clockworkmod recovery ?
Sent from my SCH-I510 using xda app-developers app
yes u can change kernels without changing the Rom but as u can see there is no CWM yet
You would do it with CWM or you could use odin.
If the kernal you want comes in a zip file use CWM.
If the kernal you want comes in a tar file use odin.
