I've read about this problem in other threads to, but without any answer. I'm using CM10 on my Defy, since a week, but the VPN is not functioning. I think is a general problem of the CM10. Please if anyone has a solution to this, i need to connect to my office network.
thx

Hello everyone
I am desperately looking on the forums and everywhere on the web to have the PPTP VPN setup on my samsung captivate. I have a hideip vpn account and it works fine on my win pc and iphone/ipods which ive tested. The onle reason for me to get samsung captivate is for the adobe flash support Coming to the matter, when I confiure the VPN PPTP with my credentilas it connects just fine and is very stable. But there seems to be no data transfer when I browse and I always end up with page not available error. someone please help me with fixing this issue.
I would greatly appreciate the work. thank you all for considering my issue. Also i have to let you know that i have 2.2 installed on the device. thanks
I just found this via google and I have the same problem. I thought it was my ROM. I am on Cog5 beta 2. Which is Android 2.3.3 and I can get VPN to work at all and I couldn't remember if it worked before.
Any luck?
After reading this post http://androidforums.com/captivate-support-troubleshooting/227657-hi-looking-some-captivate-vpn-help.html
I tired pinging the internel network and it worked. So its something with the browser or routing internet traffic?
My hd2 is running TyphooN CyanogenMod 7. I attend the University of Arizona and can't connect to their network. What happens is it scans, connects, authenticates, then disconnects? I have spent the last 2 weeks looking for a solution such as editing my wpa_supplicant and either my wifi gets an error or it still does not connect.
Also, I went down to my university's tech center and they told me I SHOULD be able to if the EAP is PEAP and the phase 2 is MSCHAPV2 but everytime i change it, it goes back to "none".
I have even tried switching to other roms in hope that it will work and still no luck.
please help me!
i had the same problem. i believe most ROMS have had this issue until recently. There are a few kernels that have been released that i believe address this issue. I'm using HyperDroid and it has this fix. if you insists on sticking with the ROM you have then just find a kernel with the fix.

Hello everybody!
I'm sorry, that I post here, but as I'm pretty new, I'm not allowed to write anything in the developers forum. I successfully enabled wifi in android and the phone finds my wlan network. When I enter the wlan-key the phone first connects and also establishes the connection. Unfortunately after it has connected it tells me, that it's out of range an tries to reconnect. Thus I never have a stable network, although the signal strength is at maximum. Has anybody also encountered this problem? Any hints? Router is Fritz!Box 7113 and wlan is wpa2 secured.
Already thanks for your replies!
get a better router(Linksys)..this has NOTHING to do with Android WiFi!
I know that my router is not the best, but I have several devices which have access to the router (two notebooks, one pc, xbox 360, windows mobile on HD Mini) and there the connection has always been stable and reliable. I NEVER had any disconnects now in the last three years. Therefore I'd suggest it's a software problem. Also somebody else has posted in the developers thread for wifi on android, that he has the same problem.
Okay now, I solved the problem preliminary.
First I used Android 2.2, where the problem occured. Now I switched back to 2.1 and patched the files in order to enable wlan. In 2.1 I can establish a stable connection to my router. Strange! Maybe someone could also mention that in the developers thread to help people who also had that problem.

Hi there
Maybe this question has been asked before but I only found matching problem descriptions related to other devices so far.
I am using the typhoon nightlies for quite a while and I am very happy with them. There is just one major problem I experience day by day. When I connect to my wireless router (WPA/WPA2 TKIP/AES doesn't matter) I have Internet for a few seconds or minutes but than there is suddenly no more connectivity. WLAN Status still claims to be connected but I can't either reach any local music sources nor any websites or the market.
When I use WEP or no security at all it works just fine. Are there a lot of people with this problem or is there allready a patch for this issue which I missed.
Edit: I have several different router models at home and I tried it with all of them. Same result
Thank you so much for your help

I allow myself to push this thread for one more time. I am a little confused about being the only one with this problem. :S if its really a known bug and the only workaround is to use the mobile connection instead, I could live with it but had to buy another phone for going abroad.
Thx

I have the same Issue. How did you solve it?
Hi,
Has anyone successfully gotten native VPN to work in CM9 on the NC? I've been trying for a couple of days and think everything is ok, but it will not connect. Just trying to see if it is me or if VPN in CM9 is not working yet.
Thanks!
Any ideas?
Doesnt work for me
Either CM7 or CM9...
I can run DroidVPN with no problem, it's a free app with fast servers. But I know people need their own networks to work, and have seen a lot of folks say that VPN is pretty much not working through the Cyanogen structure, 7 and 9.
But if you just need to bypass a work , school, or national (read: Chinese) firewall, DroidVPN has worked great for me,
