Hi all just thought id share, and let everyone know that the app in the market made by gokhanmoral does work on the note2, mine being the N7100 so all credits go to him for his work :good:
no need to change build.prop if your unsure how, his app does work on the note 2
here is his full explanation guide on this site:

And to the app:

More stable data connection and better battery life.
Just a note for those having the sqlite write error. You are likely using the perseus kernel. For some reason the database has a different group when using perseus. You can just add r/w to 'other' to get around the issue (the permissions reset on reboot).
Another note, the program specified above doesn't always detect the correct current network (aka, mine is 31000 and it detected 31100), and so the sqlite rows entered don't always work.
Final note: Disabling FD isn't usually a good thing. Be very sure the network you are on doesn't support FD, in any of its forms, else you will get slow connect times and much worse battery life by having it disabled.

Same to me...stock rom root and cwm added...i don t know i can work this app...
Please someone provide the contents in screenshot of nwk_info.db dormpolicy table for unmodified international version. I don't think that disable dormancy in this program reverts all changes.
Thank you.

Andy clue how to make it work in Perseus Kernel?
Not work with RedPill kernel.
Sent from my GT-N7100
The first thing everyone should be doing is checking if their networks supports FD or not, and if they do then you should leave it alone.
I know O2 in the UK do not support it, which is why I wanted to disable it.
This is how I got it working:
-Flash ROM / kernel via recovery
-Open Galaxy Note Toolbox (link in Dev section)
-Choose option to root and install busybox
-Run FD app
For me this worked on Perseus and RedPill, tested with ARHD, however others users have reported that it didn't work for them.
I'm actually on Omega at the moment and had forgotten to do this so my FD app is currently giving me the SQL error. I'll fix it later though, at work right now

Only worked for me when I used Galaxy Note 2 Toolbox to reinstall, as I described above.
I flashed new NEAK kernel last night and it didn't break the FD app... loaded it up and no SQL error
Didn't there use to be a special code you could type into your phone to enable a secret menu that would then let you switch fast dormancy off? I remember doing this to an old smartphone a couple of years ago.

Hey all, I tried using multiple versions of the Wifi tether apk on google source and none of them worked. I had my tablet out and tried to connect on stock ssid and it wouldn't recognize it. However, with the same apk on my Nexus, the tablet would recognize it. Got any help?

open garden will work on your fascinate long as your using a touch wiz rom or any mtd rom other than ICS.
Google wifi tether will also work but you need to set as gsm galaxy nexus.
Ok, I just tired open garden and various google versions to tether. None worked when I tried to connect from my tablet.

Tether apps from the market will not work with your tablet, you need an infrastructure mode tether. Use WiFi Tether, then set the profile to Nexus One I believe...

In that case go to Droidstyle's guide in general section. Find section 2 for tw roms, and follow the instructons to the letter for nitsuj's superclean rom. Its pretty much stock, then after that, find my guide on installing kernels, read through and pick one you like. I explained them a little in my first post, instructions are in the second post. After that, download open garden and you should have 0 issues.

Forget about what the date says, I check it every day and it used to come up with "Your device is not compatible" at the top, this morning that was gone so I downloaded it and it works perfectly on my SGS3. Anytime + and all, happy days.
EDIT. I've just seen now that they have changed the description in the app and have clearly put there that it is now supported on the SGS3
Date is still the 2nd of July so that obviously means nothing.
I love Sky Go and have decided, on balance, that I'd rather have it than a rooted phone. Annoying, but I've gone back to stock to get it.
I don't think the temporary unroot/hiding root apps work here, unfortunately.

I updated to the latest version and it stopped working so i went and changed to stock ics same issue i eventually got it working today after i realised super user was still installed after removing the app it now works.
From this i guess you might determine that by having super user installed sky deem you as being a rooted device.
Cheers

rooting it and custom rom will do nothing for you and getting caugth tethering, thats an untruth that gets spread around. tmobile sees your device on their network regardless, or you wouldnt be able to use tmobiles network. its just a matter of tmobile actively stopping you or ignoring you to a point. you can always try changing your browsers user agent, that helps sometimes, but they eventually catch on. to get to the apn settings, you dont need root. its in the main phone settings, more, mobile network, access point names..

When you say 3g doesn't work, do you mean that you're phone's status bar never shows 3g service or does it show 3g with a signal bar or two and you can't pull any data services over it. If it shows 3g with no actual data services run the ookla speedtest.net app and let us know what the results of that are.
