Alright, so who will sell the cheapest Xooms on release day?

I'm hearing Costco will sell them $100 lower than Best Buy. What about the official Verizon stores?

The costco thing isn't garunteed its just assumed. I asked a costco phone guys and that's what he expected the price to be since they sell the galaxy tab for $100 less than everyone else.

Today I have confirmed costco will have it for 699 and it will requirea one month activation.

Costco doesn't do preorders.

I just talked to my costco guy again and he said they expected $600-$700 so yea I would expect $699.

Imagine if it was $599 at Costco. Lol.

I just called my Costco and they had nothing in their inventory about the Motorola Xoom, strange. It's stuff like this that makes me iffy that EVERY Costco will have it on release day, especially if it's not even on their website.

True, but as i said i actually read the first email myself. It said "as soon as the 22 they would have a live demo, as soon as the 24 they would have the sell units." I think the key is AS SOON AS. This means depending on previous sells and the area the costco is in, it may be different. It may be they are holding out info too. Let me see if i can get the item number real quick. <Not in the system yet> Also make sure you are asking for the phone kiosk, not the main store.

Best Buy will not be carrying the phone. Tmobile is selling it but I heard they won't sell it off contract and that the device may be locked. Online retailers are going to be your best bet if you can't get one from Play Store

It won't be locked, Google wouldn't allow that.

I am a Tmobile customer. Would I be able to buy my phone from them, as an upgrande since I already have a contract with them?

Depends if your contract is up for renewal or not. If it is, yeah! If it isn't, you'll most likely have to pay an upgrade fee.

Last week a gentleman at best buy told me they would carry the phone most likely the week after launch and It would be locked to specific carriers. Who knows if that holds any truth since this whole phone release/launch has been filled with misinformation.

I was at best buy today and the sales lady said she heard not until next year but that seems crazy to wait that long since all the other carriers already have it.

I'm a bestbuy employee and I can't tell you the exacts but I can tell you to "expect" them to be released tomorrow. These are not verizon exclusive phones like the DNA, meaning only Verizon can sell the DNA for a few weeks, best buy and other third party retailers to follow. The note should launch in line at best buy with Verizon. Honestly it makes me sick to know we have people in the company like this lady who don't do their research, when it is their job. If she would look in our inventory system that every employee has access to and look at the advance details of the note II for verizon, she should see that her store has them on order with a provided street date.
Provide me with your stores location Equalizir and I'd be happy to check for you since she didn't.

I don't want to bash the salesperson because she was super nice and answered my other questions. I get very little help at this particular location. One year I came in to buy a new tv. I asked a girl to help me and she said she'd be right back. 5 minutes later she was talking to someone else. I had to get someone from a different department. It really sucked.

Yes, the Verizon Note 2 has been available to preorder for a couple weeks now. You basically purchase a $50 gift card from them for the right to have one reserved. The are only taking reservations for the white ones.

^^ This. Most stores don't realize we are doing pre sales on them. As far as only the white ones I cant confirm that - but all your store "should" have them in stock tomorrow - as far as how many I can't say .... just go camp the door @ 9/10am.

Thanks again. Does Best Buy price match Verizon Wireless if I'm buying off-contract? I know theirs will be $100 more expensive, but I have $400 in gift cards burning a hole through my pocket (of course, they won't know that until I walk up to the register).

You don't want them to price match Verizon. You want them to price match ATT or Wal-Mart. I think I've read Wal-Mart was cheaper too.

Yes, best buy will price match off contract prices for the exact same model as long as verizon has it in stock and it is a corporate verizon store, not a third party verizon store.

Lol...what??? Best Buy WILL NOT price match a verizon galaxy note II for an ATT Galaxy note II. Two different products despite the same name. Wal-Mart though will suffice, again as long as it is the SAME CARRIER, and they have it in stock.
Don't forget to get bestbuys monthly protection plan on your phone. Unlimited claims , no deductibles, 9.99 a month, can cancel at anytime. Covers water, accidental damage, screen breaks, etc. etc.

The Verizon Galaxy Note 2 is on WWW.BESTBUY.COM now!!! Check your store via zip code and see if they have it in stock (most stores "should")! Both white and titanium grey!!!!

I went to my local best buy this morning and the salesperson said they haven't gotten them in yet. She said probably sometime next week.

Just called best buy, they will hold one for me, but I can't find any add (for price match) lower than $699.99 from Verizon web page. I did some searching, but can't find anything. Best buy just outright refused to price match off contract, and told me that they aren't even supposed to be selling them off contract. I bought the white one, but I'll use it for 3 weeks, return it for my money back, and then force them to price match whatever price Verizon is selling theirs at. I was pissed, but bent over a barrel since I wanted the phone.

That's weird that my local best buy doesn't even have them.kinda pisses me off.

That's odd, although I did notice a few big box stores that did not get them. You can always order it on dot.com and have it shipped to store free in 3-5 days.

Did you ask to speak to a mobile manager or a general manager? That's absurd that they wouldn't price match it. We are ALWAYS willing to sell phones off contract. This goes back to my original post about poor workers in this company. We are currently in the season for price matching, it is even on the new we are price matching AMAZON.

If the in store date is the 23d that seems reasonable.

Best Buy is going to have it on the 17th and you get the $200 instant gift card when you pick it up. Win-win. Get it before Verizon store and get the $200 right then without waiting on check from Samsung.

Mine also said the 23rd. But I can't see BB releasing on the 17 th and verizon not doing the same thing.
We all know Big V would rather ship early then change the date and end up being late.

Sorry if there was a misunderstanding on my part, but this is after trading in a working smartphone. This is the order I was told I should do it:
1. Preorder(get's you a $50 giftcard as well) the Note 4 within the specific time range(9/19/14-10/16/14)
2. On release day, bring in your trade-in and go through the process of getting the gift card for it.
3. Use both giftcards to buy the Note 4(of course you pay the difference if there's anything left over which there should be)

Since mine was ordered at Verizon, I had to spend $50 on a droid razr on Swappa, which is worth $15 trade in, so I will net $150, not ideal, but gets me half off.

Isn't the AT&T one only free because Amazon only supports upgrades through the next program? Unless something changed from when the thread started it says 2 year upgrade not available, and has a monthly Next fee just like AT&T does.

Just wanted to stop by and thank the OP for this post cause you saved me $200......well $199.99!
Due to me being on SERO-P I haven't been able to jump on these types of deals since I switched to SERO-P on the Evo 4G. I found out from someone on Slickdeals that Discover's price protection worked on cell phones so I figured I'd try it this time. When I preordered the G4 I made sure I used Discover. I waited until my 14 day return period passed before submitting my claim with Discover. It took a little over a week after resubmitting my claim and it is now approved.
So now I get the best of both worlds...SERO-P and super cheap phones!

I only see this phone on Amazon for $99. I'm assuming this deal is over?

And the $99 is only since Sunday, before that it was $199. (free is long since over)

How was the amazon 99 cent/ free deal good on AT&T?
Cause you'd end up paying $600 for it in the end anyway. Cause if your under contract your bill is $25 higher.
