how do i do that? does it erase the sd card?

The same way you flashed CWM in the first place, just with a 320MB partiton instead of the one you flashed for NexusHD2 ICS. It won't affect your SD card but everything on your NAND will be deleted. Backup your apps, contacts etc. with Titanium backup or any other app you want really. It's probably safe to create a NANDroid backup as well so that if you don't like JB you can quickly and easily return to ICS.

Yes it will. It will override the current ROM you have flashed to NAND AFAIK. So basically it will just say kernel not found or something along the lines of that when you try boot AD NAND.

It depends upon the current ROM you are using. If you are using NAND ROM(DFT method) then it will overwrite clockwork MOD. There are special types of ROMS (.zip method) for clockwork mod.

Yeah, what he said. You can easily back up your apps, homescreen layouts, settings etc. with either My Backup or Titanium backup. I personally prefer My backup as titanium wouldn't work for some odd reason for me.
You can get My Backup pro which will add the apps automatically for you too so you don't have to click install and done about a gazillion times depending on how many apps you have.

Well any size of SD card will do, as you will be installing android on NAND ROM via clockwork recovery. So your 2gb sd card will be free to be used for your data.
If you want more space than there are multiple options. either buy new sd card 8gb, 16gb or choose a ROM which is slim so that you have more space left on the phone.
Actually, it depends on your partition layout in the flash.cfg file. If you are not changing the partition layout, then it shouldn't erase anything. If the layout is different than what you had before, it will format the partitions.

That card well be used up very quickly. Backups with cwm take up alot of space. You could only put 2 backups on 2gb card.

He's using a MDJ build which are all DFT so it would wipe it.
That's another thing, do you know which CWM partition size you need? If you plan on installing basic AOSP ROM's I recommend 150.
Oh and backups aren't needed,
they just backup the entire ROM you're using so if anything goes wrong with the other ROM you can gu back to the working one, that you've backed up.

Yeah I'm sure they will both work with CWM once they're in .zip format. So download both, put them on your SD card, flash the 150M version of CWM then just partition the SD card the way you like (only if needed) and install a ROM. One thing to note, is when after you've installed a ROM, clear the cache. Just to get rid of anything left behind.

[Q] Backing up my Rom

Guys,
Sorry for this noob question, I have flashed Tytung's NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.7 Rom to my HD2 and need to back it up but I have all my apps linked to an ext2 partition on my SD card using Link2sd, I plan to use ClockworkMod Recovery for the backup, the question is will I need to unlink all the apps before making the backup or will the SD card need to be backed up as well. I have done a search on the forum but can't seem to find any reference to my question.

1. Create FAT32 partition and EXT4 in SD card all primary
2. put the rom in SD and starts with clk
3. Reset factory/cache/dalvik
4. Install the rom
The HTC HD2 starts and shows the blue screen but remains here and don't init the SO
I'm conscient that i had forgotten some steps but don't know what exactly.
I'm sorry i'm newly,
What's exactly wrong???
I searched in the forum a step by step guide but hadn't find this, :crying::crying::crying::crying:

What is the cwm partition size? The cwm partition is rom dependent. E.g for sense romantic it requires to be around 400 MB,for GB it's around 150. Check the rom original post regarding minimum cwm partition size.

What are you refering to??? The ext4 partition is 1GB What's the cwm partition and where find it??
Thanks a lot,

It all depends on your installation choice.
Did you choose NativeSD, DataOnExt or NAND?
If it's nativesd, there are some other things you must do (look them up).
If you're on DataOnExt or NAND you must have the right system partition size.
You can find those by going into cLK's Settings > Repartition. You must set those partitions according to the rom's cook.
One last thing, you didn't search well, if at all.
Ok i like to do it by nativeSD
What steps have i forgotten?? or give me the post where i can found it... Fool searching in this big forum...
Just say me the steps i must do with native sd before install the rom (or after if there are)
Thanks and apologizes

[Q] New Rom for HTC HD2, NexusHD2-JellyBean-CM10.1 V2.1 [NativeSD]

Hi,
I am currently using Rom from tyween: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951 and I would like to install a new one from Tytung http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224469 .
My questions:
1. in description of tytungs Rom is stated that NAND version is for USA T-mobile so I assume that with my international version I have to use the other two versions and if so then the only way to install it is using aurora installer?
2. Nevertheless I tried NAND version installed it using CWM but then it got stuck on loading screen, could this problem be solved by this patch? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40623956&postcount=821
3. Is it possible to use Rom Manager to install this Rom? I have only tried CWM method and this one seems also really easy to use.
Thank you for your answers!!!

Nand is divided into two: 1- Pure Nand (EVERYTHING is on the NAND of the device) and 2- Nand with DataOnExt (as the name implies, some of the data will be stored on an EXT partition on your SD card).
Since the international version of the HD2 only has about half a gig of storage, if you fit everything into the NAND you won't have enough space left for you to install apps and whatnot. If you want it on NAND, you need to choose the second option (some data on the sdcard), but you need to make sure you have an EXT partition on your sd card first (if you don't know how to make one, search).
And "aurora" (you mean aroma*) is just a path, it IS like you said THE installer. It's got nothing to do with your installation. It is just a fancy make-up for the old installation method. Yes, you'll have to use it.

No, that patch is for something else. Your problem is different.
If you mean:
1- NAND Only, then you may have not made enough partition space for the system. (Either way, you shouldn't use this one, use NAND WITH dataonext).
but if you mean 1- NAND with DataOnExt, then it is either your partition size is too small or you do not have a proper sdcard ext partition.

It's the same thing. When you select "Install ROM" in ROM Manager, it will actually reboot your device into CWM and you will have to follow the steps of Aroma as well. Yes, you can use it if you have cLK bootloader and not magldr.
You are welcome
According to your answer, I have to download AROMA installer and use it for installing new Rom. In DataOnExt version will 1 Gb partition be enough?

No, Aroma is *included* in the .zip file of the ROM. Just download the ROM, flash from recovery normally but instead of the usual text of procedure, you'll see a fancy screen where you get to configure the ROM before it is installed.
In my opinion, yes, 1GB is more than enough.

CWM is independent from the ROM you install.
If you are talking about "boot into recovery" from within the ROM, that's a rom's feature and does not have to be included in it. You can reach the recovery by rebooting your phone into MAGLDR and then choosing the option AD. Recovery or something like that.
Just to add a little to Marvlesz's answer, reboot into recovery/bootloader on any ROM will just reboot the phone normally if you have MAGLDR. To access CWM just hold power for the MAGLDR menu then select 8. AD Recovery. If you use cLK on the other hand, reboot into recovery does work if I'm not mistaken.
I tried to install this ROM using various settings (DataOnExt / Native SD, wipe/no wipe, magldr / ppp...) but phone always ends up rebooting itself after htc loading screen. I did partition SD card to FAT 32 (primary) and 1GB EXT4 (primary).
What could be the problem and how to solve it?
Thank you!

285. To create that, go to wherever your CWM thing is stored on your PC, open the CWM folder, open the file flash.cfg (not flash.cfg.txt.) in notepad (it should open in this way automatically) then change the value next to the line beginning 'SYSTEM...' from 150 to 285, keeping everything else exactly the same.

@muftiazan i think your partitions are wrongly set up.
make sure they are set to primary, with them aligned well on the sdcard (fat32 not fat, ext4 and wp7 partition)

I have aligned my partition through MTPW. Does this make a difference ? 1st Partition is FAT32, 2nd is EXT4 (587mb), 3rd is Other (WP7).

also, what nativeSD roms were you trying?

I was trying PA 2.57 CM10, evervolv's CMTight (4.1.1) and CM9ight (ICS), MIUI-MIX 3.2.22 and miui_passion_2.2.28. My EXT4 had free space in all ROM's except MIUI-MIX. What do I do. I really need Android but on the other side I also need WP7.8. Please help.

please try this rom, i suspect lack of space. this ^ one should fit.
else, i also suspect a badly formatted partition. you should try formatting with a recovery (TWRP-EX for hd2), and inside it (<------- this Recovery) after formatting, open nativeSD manager and fix permissions for the rom you just flashed. then try booting.
@gilbert32
When I format using TWRP and then Install ROM and the fix permissions using nativeSD manager it just gets stuck on bootanim again. there is no lack of space. I checked it.
EDIT: I re-installed CMTight, this time setup wizard ran fine but the it started to give fc's again.

New Issue..
Every time I install a new rom it gets stuck at some point in the install so i have to remove the battery and format ext and then install again but second time it works but gives fc as usual (process.acore,process.gapps and alot more.)
Edit: 4EXT recovery doesnt show partition info and cannot mount e:\sdcard
if ext4 doesn't show partition info, the try another recovery (twrp-ex for hd2, bootable via sd method). format with it and install rom from it. if you still experience problems, i suggest you clean the sd port and the sd pins, for maybe you have a problem like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2319835
