Hi, is it possible to stream the audio output through the usb port like on other devices (i.e. droid razr)
It would be very nice to implement it, if it's possible at hardware level.
Defy / Defy+ TV Out
I think it's possible look that : http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-TV-Out-Video-audio-AV-Cable-4-MOTOROLA-Defy-MB525-SKN6261A-/260894518704
Excuse me but this not what I asked for! I'm talking about audio out trough USB port. In your link there's a video out trough 3,5 headphone port cable....

With the locked bl, there isn't much hope.
Even with the new quarx kernels?

Any news on the hdmi video out feature? Also why cant we use the 3.5mm plug ? will we be able to after roms are availible?
Check "real HDMI" in the market.
Allows use of HDMI out, just not dual display as I believe the processor is not capable.

Nope others too work(nokia/sony tested)
Topic is not about which brand cable works I think a app for this would work...and who told you hardware not there earlier we don't have flash because "hardware was not supporting"now we have modded app for it and it works please guys n devs think if some app

Having flash supported hasn't got anything to do with this.
Forget it. Ditch the idea. It's technically impossible - our phone doesn't support tv out. This is a budget phone made for consumers, you can't put TV out hardware in something this cheap.
Your best bet is to do as the guy somewhere above me - stream pictures over wifi.

Hi, I was just wondering if you guys think sony will release software to enable us to use a microusb to hdmi lead or maybe even a devoloper on xda could make a program.
Also would it even be possible?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a hardware limitation. Is it not?

The USB port is not capable of video output on the Xperia Play from everything I have seen and read which is a hardware limitation.
Thats sad news, was really hoping to be able to connect to my tv. kinda wish I bought a Samsung gs2 now, not that im disappointed with my play I love it lol

Apparently there's a dock out/coming out that gives it a hdmi port.
If theres a dock that includes HDMI support, I dont see why you couldent just use a microUSB to HDMI adapter.
Apparently the dock is for the other xperias and not the play. Besides the dock would be ok for watching stuff but hopeless if you wanted to play games.

The dock itself doesn't support hdmi.

Hey guys, just curious since I know the BT in the device is a bust would it be possible to get BT unning through an OTG cable and adapter. I was only thinking about this because i was going to try playing with an emulator and thought it would be neat to be able to use a real game controller.
Not possible, you'd need driver support in the ROM for specific hardware.

FYI
Why do we need this when our phone has a hdmi cable already?

Because HDMI is ALL it has. no composite video on ring2 of the headphone jack, no other way to get video out of the phone onto a bigger screen.
you plug this into your phone, then you can plug your phone into a monitor or projector that doesn't have an HDMI input but has VGA or RGBHV (with appropriate cables)
Many conference rooms/presentation rooms/auditoriums still don't have HDMI/DVI on podiums but use RGB video distribution systems,
and it looks great.
That's why we need this!
Cool! Thanks for this! I have a monitor and speakers I use with my netbook. Now when my netbook is being used for couponing by my roommate I can watch stuff without dragging my roku to my bedroom!
