Never enjoyed a phone as much as the note2, I have a couple of minor issues which keep annoying me and for the life of me I cant find a solution with an app.
Issue 1. Ringer volume and notifiation volume not linked. Just spent my entire lunch break, installing various audio/volume apps, to try and link the two together, none can do it. Is this an issue with Jelly Bean?
Issue 2. Vol down button, stops at vibrate...this one is not a major issue as I can simply swipe down the notification bar and unpress vibrate, but not ideal.
If anyone can provide any help, I would be grateful.

The second issue is what other people are experiencing. I think that's true of JellyBean as my nexus 7 does that too. I don't have a note 2 but on my nexus 7 when I hit volume up/down, the volume bar pops up and on the right hand side there's also a settings icon I can press to change the other volumes

Same goes for the Note 2. I have the Settings icon on the right end of the volume bar when I press either volume key.

Hi all,
I've had my touch hd for a few days now and overall im very hapy with it but the volume button on the side is driving me mad. It's very large and very sensitive so im constantly pressing it. Can it be disabled any way?
On another note im having a minor issue with sms alerts in touchflo. sometimes when I get a new message and have read it in touchflo the green '1' will stay indicating that I have an unread message until I go into my actual inbox and have opened it in there. Again, any advice appreciated

Yes. Install AEBplus. Then, configure the single press of volume buttons to something like Up and Down Arrow Key, and Double Press to Volume Up and Down.
It this way, when you touch the rocker, it meanly send an up arrow signal, which for most situation is not going to do anything. When you really want to change volume, double press it. Alternatively, you could configure long press to change volume.
With this setting, you will be able to change your music track and radio channel too, as the Up Down arrow keys are those players use to change track/channel.
Yes, the volumn buttons are very sensitive, so AEB+ is a must to install!
I use D810 for over 2 years, and scroll wheel is very handy to me, so I just config volumn buttons in HD to be up & down button. It can help some, but not all.......
Aside from the rocker volume being touched accidentally, the green phone button can also be touched accidentally. If you do it twice, it makes a call without you even knowing.
So, I do the same. Single press will start my AgePhone, double press for normal phone. In this way, the phone does not dial out unless I want it do.
Yep, AEB plus will be your answer. You can also configure this to do nothing on single press and then volume up/down on double, triple or long press.
Hi,
When I press the volume rocker, the volume increased by a large percentage each time I press it.
I realise that some music players have the ability to change the volume by smaller increment, but wonder if there is a cab file somewhere that enables this capability system wide. Or is there a hidden tweaks somewhere?
I like the cool music player in TF3D and do not wish to use a third party software to play music.
Can anybody help?
Thanks in advance.
i hope to change lesser too
yes i remember coming across some 3rd party applications that can tweak the volume, but i honestly forgot where.... if i find anything i will get back to you.
meanwhile, after prompting the volume menu by pressing the rocker buttons, you can select a smaller increment in sound level, by simply taping of the meter using the stylus.
volume increments
I thought super, i can adjust volume lower! Not, mine moves the same by tapping or using rocker.? unless I'm doing something wrong? Help
This is a really annoying issue... Luckily, you can adjust the volume in smaller increments using the buttons whenever the screen is turned off!
volume
Sorry, i'm new, but when i turn my screen off, my music stops? then when i touch vol. rocker it lites up, & plays. sorry for newbie problem,

Have you found the cab yet?
When the sound volume screen appear, how do you adjust by a smaller increment? I thought whether you use the volume rocker or the screen the degree of change is exactly the same?

The music only keeps playing when headphones are plugged in! (Atleast it should... if it doesn't, what ROM are you using?)
i'm sorry couldn't find the cab, ur best bet is changing the volume from within a music player, i hear corplayer is good....
on my device i tap the volume bar using the stylus and that gives me the smaller increments in sound level.
Try tapping the screen instead of using the pysical buttons on the side. You can change the volume by one bar instead of the 4/5 bars everytime you press the button.
hi guys,
in the last day or so, when on the home screen when i press the volume side rocker it is adjusting the media volume NOT the ringer volume.
usually in a media related app, if i press the side rocker buttons it will say media volume and the bar will change as a i press it but if i go to the home screen and press it, it would say ringer volume.
- i have turned off the phone and turned it back on
- using a task killer i have made sure no apps are running
but still no go. any help with this would be great cause i used to use this every day by pressing volume up i would go from vibrate to silence to volume for the ringer. i used this every day so i miss it heaps.
thanks in advance.
I have the same problem. This happens only in Sense. When using LauncherPro or ADW everything is fine.

New guy here!
I'm from holland and I have a 2009 hd2 which is currently running AOKP Milestone 5 SE
So this is my first guide and i'll start with something simple.
Eliminating those frustrating pocket unlocks and the screen turning on in your pocket which drains your battery.
The easiest option is to start using your volume rocker as a unlock button and removing all the front button mappings for waking your phone.
Your power button is still your lock button though.
1. Find out if your rom has any special rom options (e.g. rom control, some toolbox, cynogen mod options etc)
2. Go through those options and try to find something with volume wake, it's probably under lockscreen options.
3. If you have found the option enable it, if not you have to download WidgetLocker in the market it comes with the option in it.
4. Once you've tested it we can begin with disabling the front keys by downloading ButtonRemapper in the market.
5. Now when you're in the app, you are seeing a list of key numbers with their name and function behind it. key number 116 is the only one you need to keep on its original state, it is for the power button when the phone is unlocked.
6. Start by clicking a key and putting its state in NONE and press ok, now do this for the remaining keys, EXCLUDING 116.
7. Hit the apply button and see your hd2 hot rebooting
8. When the phone comes to its senses again, try it out!
Lock with your power button
Unlock with your volume rocker.
It almost feels like a modern android phone with the lock/unlock button on the top or side.
I hope you like it, because I really do!

Nice guide! Very similiar to my original mod here but you make it a bit more simplified xD
After removing WAKE and WAKE_DROPPED from the keys, clicking buttons doesn't wake the screen (as expected), but lights the buttons, and they stay lit forever (i.e. until the next unlock/lock).
Do you also experience the same thing? Any solution?

Yes this is normal, caused by a gpio wake lock from the kernel. No solution yet, I personally don't care as it drains a lot less battery than having your screen come on

gpio don't need wakelocks in kernel, when interrupt is raised, cpu exits suspend and services the raised gpio interrupt. This is problem with bad coding logic of the key's backlight driver, i will see what can be done in some days (really busy atm).

This is still kernel related though right? as it deals with the driver? And you really dont have to work on it its not that big of a deal, put it on lowwwww priority you do amazing work here so as it is
the most important thing is to not keep anything else metal and/or hard, in your pocket with the hd2. Items like batteries or keys

This idea is awesome, thank you!
I've customized it a little bit to save my power button (and so my touchscreen connector).
I've set all my hardware buttons to power, but without wake property.
Now, I can:
Lock with any hardware button
Unlock with volume rocker.
thanks a lots aha
I am using D802 version, and I am facing a huge problem on my phone, that' s I cannot use the screenshot function, when I press home and vol down botton together, it only shows the vol slider on the screen.
As I have rooted and delete some system apps already, so I wonder am I delete the wrong system apps to make the screenshot function gone, can anyone help me? Or tell me which system apps is related to the screenshot function? Thanks.
Lol you just might be not pressing fast enough.
When in doubt, use Qmemo.
Hi,I have already tried way and speed to press the power and volume button, but it still fail.....
Can anyone help me please?
Try to hold it little longer. Got this problem too at first and now it's working. Lol, I don't know what really the problem. But try it many times and eventually it will work. GL
slide up from the home button to the right... from there on the top you can choose to save your screen or directly share it you can also draw on it... pressing the vol down and power can get awkward on the g2 Qmemo is the way to go
Put your fingers on both buttons. Hit volume down first and then quickly after hit power. "Bah-dum" is how it will sound. Wait 1-2 seconds and screenshot captured.
I do have to try QMemo.

One word: QuickMemo. Did you not get the memo?
Thought I had this problem as well, but I also didn't press long enough. Though it's much more convenient as mentioned before to use QuickMemo.
Press them down at the same time and hold until you hear or see the screenshot. Works perfectly for me the key is holding it down long enough.
