[Q] What is the best rom for htc hd2? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi guys, i have a question. What is the best rom for htc hd2 in this moment? I have 4.1.1 aosp and before i had ics 4.0.4 leoking 2.3.6.
This rom is quite slow but i want a rom Jelly Bean. What is the most stable rom at the moment? I tried to install the nexushd2 but when i turn on the phone, htc logo appears but then you see that the screen is on but nothing appears. I have installed for twice but nothing. I tried to install it with "NAND with DataOnEXT" because my phone is Italian. I have a FAT32 partition of 13GB and a EXT4 partition of 1.5GB but nothing ... Thanks to all..
Damy
EDIT: With the NexusHd2, here is a process that asks you to choose between the rmnet connection and the ppp connection... What is better? i have magrld

IMO, this is the best ROM as of now. Enjoy

PACman HD2 by xylo..........nand/native sd

or look thru here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=980

Waht is best for you is not the best for others, so this thread will be redundant with many opinions. My advice is that you test a few ones an make your own decision.
On that note, thread closed.

[Q] boyppc-shiftpda MIUI V12 Data2SD

Hi there
i need to ask a question with regards to the boyppc-shiftpda MIUI V12 update if any one is using it is the ASD2+ working for you am still getting the internal memory of the device even when i used the DATA2SD folder supplied by BoyPPC but still it is not working unlike the DHD Rom by BoyPPC it is working using the DATA2SD folder on root .
i really like MIUI the themes are amazing it is like using a new phon every day but also i need the space for my applications and games so unfortunately i had to stick to the DHD rom hoping to get a solution to make the MIUI use my 2GB EXT3 partition i have on my SD
i got a 8GB SD and the EXT3 created by CWM is 2GB with SWAP size 0m
awaiting your reply
why don't you try the other miui roms, langthang's and ladyboo's miui roms make data2ext quite perfectly.
thanks mutil would u kindly post the two roms threads to try them
the reason i did not try other roms is that i adore BOYPPC roms just wanted to use the MIUI with the apps he provides but am willing to try ur recommended roms
again would be thankful if you can post the two roms threads
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010498

but kept stuck on booting screen
i will give the second one a try and will let u know
have you made wipe data /factory reset, wipe dalvik cache from mgldr menu before flashing new rom

[Q] Help with roms

Hello all,
I have recently bought a HTC HD 2 on eBay with hyperdroid cm7 v2.1.0 head honey badger. ( Whatever that means, Sorry Im new to this rom stuff) It seems to be very glitchy and force closes dialer and many applications a lot. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction as to where to start. I wish to use a better and more stable rom for my phone but have no idea where to start. Thank you
1st turn off the phone and then turn it back on. does it say magldr at the top? if it does the i think a great stable ROM to start off with would be BLUETOPIA HD, you can find it here. i think its a great started ROM because a lot of the info needed to flash the rom is express in the post in a very easy to follow way. you can also check out RAFDROID HD found here which is also a great ROM.
i would also check out this thread because it will have all the info you need to know about flashing ROMs and is written for noobs to ROM development. be sure to thank mskip for his post.
BLUETOPIA HD is [LEO1024][TMOUS]
If you have EU LEO512 don't flash this rom. If not, go ahead!

[Q] Best Sense Rom for Stability and Battery Life? This is for my GF.

Hey guys. Just bought an HD2, have flashed android 4.0 alpha on it, but I wanna give this phone to my girlfriend who lives in another state. She currently has a Mytouch Slide and I want to put a sense Rom on this phone because that's what she is familiar with. However I wanted to know what the most stable Sense Rom with the best battery life is? Is prefer a Sense 3.0 Rom but any version of Sense is fine. She doesn't use mobile web , only WiFi, and she usually texts and calls with it, very light app usage, if that helps describing her habits. Appreciate the input!
Flash this CLK bootloader in the right partition layout and follow instructions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1114053
After that flash clockwork mod 5.2.0.6.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987531
Partition your Sd card with a 1024mb Ext4 partition... you can do that with clockwork mod.
And flash this rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908528
Most stable rom out there.... for daily use.
The advantage of CLK is that your HD2 boots like a native android.
So your girlfriend can't touch anything of the bootloader etc.
For any info take a look at this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1336700
good luck
As the post above said, I personally find Android 2.2 with Sense 2.0 the most stable and fastest type of ROM out there. Perfect for daily use and if your girlfriend isn't bothered about having the latest version of Android

Thanks guys ill try both Roms for a couple days and see which I like more. She doesn't care to be on the latest version, but I personally prefer sense 3.0 or 3.5 cuz that's what I have on my sensation.

Check clk partition sizes, make sure you have flashed a clk (and sense) compatible kernel. First boot can take up to 10 mins.

Completely useless unless you give us more information, and wasting space seeing as you clearly haven't searched first.

HD2 leo Rom selection

I am lookinng for anyone that might could point me in the right direction od selecting a rom to flash for the HD2 leo. I havent messed with the hd2 much and have a samsung focus that i have been hacking since they first came out. I am wanting to know if anyone may have a good suggestion for putting the ICS on the HD2, not sure if i should install with sd card or flash the rom to the device? I have been reading up on some things but am still not sure what way would be best. I am not new to flashing roms but am new to the HD2 and ICS. Anyone with any information that could help me choose the right ICS to install would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks, jason

I haven't personally used any ICS builds but I can definitely say flash a NAND Android ROM and probably choose the AOKP build judging purely by the OPs (not AOSP, really no point in that). If you want something different try MIUI ICS builds, I personally never really liked MIUI that much but give it a try.
if you want an ICS rom that is stable use Tytung's NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.3-CM9..its the best one out there.. here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860
First i want to thank both of you for replying to my post. I have downloaded the nand tool kit but cant seam to find the drivers for it, i am getting a fed anti piracy error from both the nand tool kit and also from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
I have been reading and looking all about flashing the ICS Cm9 and seams pretty good, the only thing that is confusing me is the the radio. I see that i have to run MAGLDR and then CLK, but am unsure about radio. Here are the other guids i been refering to also about doing the flash.

So when i flash this rom do i have to use the nand tool kit to flash or can i flash just using DLMODE and MAGLDR? Thats the way i flashed my samsung focus rom.
Again thanks for your reply!!

[Q] Suggestion for dual boot

Hi guys! I need an advice both from Windows and Android users.
I used to run Gingerbread on my Leo (NexusHD2 by Tytung) with nativeSD, and I didn't update to ICS or JB because I didn't want it to become laggy (I suppose they are heavier than GB).
Yesterday, my sdcard got broken (actually it became write-protected for no reason on earth, and I couldn't find any way to unlock it or format it, even though I tried with every solution I found on the internet), so I just bought a new one, which will arrive tomorrow; I've read on xda that class4 Sandisk cards are the best ones for smartphones, because they have a higher random speed, whereas class6 and class10 have higher sequential speed but lower random speed. So I bought a 32GB Sandisk class4.
ANDROID PART
1) Now, given that card, do you think I will be able to run smoothly Jellybean (if I find a good stable ROM)? Or do you think it is just too heavy? (If I'm not mistaken ICS, JB, Kitkat are all optimized for multi-core CPUs, and we have a single core with relatively low ram...)
2) If you think I can update to JB without having lags as soon as I install a few apps, would you recommend me a good, stable and fast nativeSD ROM? I'm looking for something very basic, without built-in apps or other crap, I just want the simple, original OS and I will install apps that I need later.
WINDOWS PHONE PART
Since I'll have plenty of space now, with 32GB, I thought to give Windows Phone a shot, since I use Windows 8 on my laptop and I've been told that WP is a very light and not power-demanding OS.
So my idea is a dual boot through nativeSD with Android as favourite OS (since it's the one I'm used to) and WP as second OS, to see if it can fit my needs.
Could you recommend me a good, stable and fast nativeSD ROM? I'm looking for something very basic, without built-in apps or other crap, I just want the simple, original OS and I will install apps that I need later. Besides, is there a stable WP8 for HD2 or just WP7?
Thank you very much for any help. I hope to come to a decision today because tomorrow I'll get the new sdcard and I want to do ll the flashing in one time, without having to repartition the sdcard later
hi
i dual booted my hd2 a while ago.
if u want my opinion, windows phone will not come in use.
but! i still have it on my phone.
i use hd2o as winphone and tytung's nexusHD2 v2.7 (android 4.2.2) as nativeSD android. (i have a 16gb toshiba class 4 microsd card)
there is no winphone 8 available so far, and since DFT and a lot of developers are no longer supporting HD2, i dont think it will be available ever!
A lot of people use pedijamas winphone and say its awesome, but i haven't, and i have no time to switch.
kitkat is still beta, and some features do not work. A few days ago I installed nexusHD2 v3.3 (android 4.3) on my friends phone (nand, CLK sandisk 8gb class 10) and it was great.
but!!!!
my android is not that good. its slow and laggy.
conclusion:
1. Do not install winphone and magldr. instead install CLK and android (nexusHD2 is great, i think v2.7 is still better than v3.3)
2. Install winphone, and android. (i suggest install a few androids and see which one works better, i think 2.3.3 will be better though)
3. Install winphone alone, its fast, and by fast, i mean like FAAAST! but, its not android, so apps and ui will make u sick after a while! :S

Thank you for the reply! A few questions:
1a. In Tytung's v3.3, are the WiFi and 3G/HSPDA traffic indicator arrows in the status bar still not working or did he fix them?
1b. Why not magldr? I thought it would be better since it allows to "unlock" the 576MB RAM in EU HD2s (and I see that Tytung himself uses magldr )
2. Is WinPhone available just in NAND? No nativeSD ROMs?

1a: i'm not sure, since i use nexushd2 v2.7, and it works just fine. (also i don't think its a big deal! i never noticed those arrows!)
1b: i dont know how did you find out that tytung uses magldr!!!! i my self use magldr, its great. but i believe if you just want to use android, CLK is a better option. new roms (4.2.2, 4.3, 4.4) wont fit on nand, so you have to make an ext4 partition and put your data on sd. just your system partition goes to nand, so i think it doesn't make any difference to unlock 576MB RAM. and also i don't know if CLK unlocks it or not! (sorry for my lack of info!)
2: i know this one!!!! )
nope, WinPhone is just available on nand, sadly!

Thanks again! Eventually I asked directly to Tytung and he answered me that it was just an aesthetic thing and the he wouldn't fix it because Google themself removed them in the following versions. I installed the v3.3 and so far it's GREAT (like every Tytung's work)!
I guess he's using MAGLDR from what he writes at the end of his threads, but it's just a guess. Anyway, I'm forced to use nativeSD because some time ago I had continuous crashes even after Task29 and fresh install of Tytung ROMS, so I guess I have some bad blocks in my NAND after 4 years of heavy usage. I hoped to give WP a shot because I've read it's blazing fast, but I'll be happy with my JB 4.3 CM 10.2

see, nexusHD2 is still awesome!
lucky me! i never had any problem with my nand!
if you have to use nativesd, it makes no difference if u use magldr or clk.
if you want to install WP, you have to install MAGLDR, but the problem is that it will wipe your sd and partition it to an unknown partition type. so back up your data before ding so!
have fun.
if i helped, i'm glad!
