Is there any today plugins for windows media player

Does anyone know of any today plugins for windows media player so that track information and controlling play/pause, next track etc can be done from the today screen.
I often find i start WMP, then while doing other things suddenly want to stop a tune playing etc, and have to go back into media player.
I know there's other programs like mort player that allow this, but is there any plugins for WMP.
I've tried PHM's pocket plus - http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/Plus/#PHMtWMP, but that doesn't seem to work with WMP10.

been on a business trip and it's only now that i saw this post. here you go then; nice little app / today plugin that allows you to use your media player and control it from the today screen. it also gives you an extra option of displaying both battery and memory bars/indicators. the website is:

scroll down and you'll "today player". clicking on it will give you this site:

just copy the cab file and execute it through your unit. from there; go to today settings and click on the box to allow the plug in to appear on your screen. it gives you a play button, stop, previous and next songs, etc. the note icon on the left gives you a bunch of options; best of all it gives you an option of "lights off" meaning the media player will continue to play even if the screen is off. the 3-bar icon on the right gives you the options of loading playlists which you make through your media player. it also allows you to load folders for songs and such. it also shows you the song currently being played.
the only drawback i see is that it's limited to playing mp3 and ogg only. i have a bunch of wma files somewhere and i had to convert them to mp3. but other than that; i like it.

This is a stand alone player and it's very nice (had it on my iPAQ) tried this on my i-mate JAM before and had some display issues were in the player would not refresh properly... I don't think it has been fixed as dev't on this application has been stopped.

Thanks, I did take a look at this, but was hoping for one that was actually integrated into WMP and not standalone.

Creating a simple app for WM6.5 for media browsing

I would like to know where I would start if I wanted to create a simple app to browse through a collection of media present on the WM6.5 device - to give me the ability to sort my music through either a list or album art view I could flick left/right on, feeding the pivots from the id3 tags on the file, or possibly from xml files I create on the system for video files. Can I get this done with a widget, or would I need to do something a little heavier?
I'd appreciate some help/guidance to get this started.

If I'm looking at music, I would see onscreen:
Start Bar
---------
Library>Music (Movies, TV, Podcast, Music Videos, Pictures) (tap+hold to expand out a list to switch music to the other options to view those types of media)
under music:
Library>Music>Artist (or Album, Song, Genre, Year, Language, Playlist)
Within an artist, say Rammstein, I would see their albums in album art going left to right:
[Herzeleid] [[Sehnsucht]] [Mutter]......
If I flick left or right, I go left or right through their albums. Flick up or down to switch artists. Click the album to view tracks; tap+hold to get play options to add to default media player, or add to a playlist.
under TV:
Library>TV>Title (Year, Genre, Rating, Channel, Language, Country)
viewing a show:
Library>TV>Star Trek: a list of 3 DVD covers I can flick left or right on to view the 3 seasons of the show; tap to see the episodes, get synopsis, view trailer, or add to a video playlist; flick up or down to view the previous or next TV Show in the library
Library>TV>Star Trek>Season 1: a list of episodes thereafter
flick left/right to scroll through episodes, getting a thumbnail of the episode, synopsis, trailer button. flick up/down to switch seasons

XML data example:

Car-view with only 3/4 BIG buttons and huge album cover background.
High-quality file format support (FLAC, APE, ...).
Speed-based volume control (the faster you go, the louder it gets).

HUD-like mode to have the screen reflected in windshield, maybe with actual speed and time indication... I mostly need that for car use, could you imagine? XD

I'm probably alone here, but the main thing I miss using my phone instead of my ipod as a car media player is that I can't have music videos and normal tracks in the same playlist. So if you could include support for music vids in the same playlists as other media, that'd be fantastic
Other than that - what teorouge said. Add gesture support to, so I can swipe to change tracks, and I'm sold

Would also like to see a day/night switch to automatically change skin or at least color set from light to dark, based on actual time or luminosity or both (you decide!) also for car usage improvement.

I would love to be able to stream internet streams (over wifi)
like .m3u streams. The stock app doesn't recognise ones I have tried

Biggest issues for me would be the ability to add only specific folders to the library, a media player that scans the whole SD card and loads crap like ringtones into the list is unusable. And secondly very robust tag and album art support. I have many songs that display titles and artist fine in Foobar on my PC and all my tracks have the album art imbedded but many of these do not display correctly on my HTC Desire media player.

The feature I most need is to sort my music by "album artist" and not only by artists.

Album art not displayed on lock screen

Ok, this may well be my fault as made a lot of changes at once but wondered if I could get some advice on this.
I've changed to Revolution 2.0.5 with non-sense patch installed and normal music app. Also changed to media monkey to sync music to my phone which is so much easier than messing with double twist and winamp which screwed up all my compilation albums or made blank playlists.
So when I play a song in the player all artwork shows as expected artwork is saved in the tag and m4a files play fine.
When I use lock screen widget now though it just displays a big green music symbol when previously it displayed the album art.
Does anyone know if there is a setting or anything extra required for this or is there any limitation in the non-sense roms, player still seems to be the htc player?

MyMP3 Player v0.65

I have been trying to find a music player for some time, but I couldnot find a suitable for me. So I made mine and I am posting so you can use it if you like. This is a mp3 player which has these feautures:
- search (using the search button)
- can navigate to folders and see the songs (mp3, wav for now)
- add them to the playlist by clicking the icon on the left
- add the entire folder and subfolders by clicking the folder icon
- play songs by clicking the rest of the song
- view the playlist (the third button on top)
- choose random play or one song after the previous (from the playlist) (random is the default)
- choose non-stop music (when the playlist is over, restarts the playlist)
- save playlists and load them anytime
- delete from plalist by long clicking the song from the playlist
- a bar to navigate to any time in the current song
- View the songs by filename as in your PC.
- no ads
You can change from playlist to browser view by clicking the third button on top.
The default folder is /sdcard/Music/ so I suggest move the songs there within their folder
You can go up one folder by clicking back on your device.
It is created for 320x240 resolution.

can you also add functionality that when you play random and the music player is closed, the next time you start the app the previously random played songs arent played again until all the songs in the playlist are played? Closing the app in that way does not make him start fresh. It is to prevent playing the same song much more often than other songs.

This plays the songs just once. I think you mean to remember the last playlist when you start the app? (and the songs that already been played?)

Yeah, but then you need to be able to randomize the list. Besides that, when a list is very very long, it is no fun to scroll to the right song.

uploaded v0.4 which includes your nice idea of remembering playlist and played songs.

nice one, works very good with samsung wave and android 2.2. i needed another player since original samsung player isnt working yet in android port

If anyone is willing to design a nice icon for the app let me know.
Also any new ideas are welcome.

I just fixed the bug not playing songs with a capital letter in their path when restoring from last playlist.

fixed a major bug

way better interface. Althought it appears a bug when I press to clear the playluist and it moves to the next song

Can you like add a feature to it so that it can read lyrics embedded in the song's id3 tag? I don't find any that does that on the market.
