Bricked Droid 2 - Droid 2 General

I was rooted and flashed the MIUI rom. Was not working and I turned off my Droid 2. It went directly to
Bootloader
D2.37
Err:A5,70,70,00,1F
MEM_MAP Blank
Service Req'd
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Now I'm stuck in bootloader and that's as far as I can get my phone. I've flashed the droid 2 sbf .621 and had no luck. How can I get it back up and running? I've looked up everything!
Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED

try ezSBF and root for 621

I'm not sure I understand...
I tried ezSBF but that is how I rooted my phone in the first place.
I'm stuck in bootloader with the errors I showed above. I can only turn it off and on to bootloader.

read how to use rsd lite
http://droid.koumakan.jp/wiki/Welcome
use 2.3.4 .sbf at 1kds.tk
moto drivers and rsd lite, in my list
phone will not charge in that state, if battery gets too low, you can't do anything
edit: the ezSBF has 2 options
recovery/sbf and rooting
if you don't have those 2, you don't have
2.3.4 ezSBF, you have 2.3.4 root only

I'm sorry I'm noob, but please bare with me...
Is this the right place? droidforums.net /forum/droid-2 -hacks/161849-tool-ezsbf .html
Also, how do I get the version of 2.3.4 ezSBF that isn't root only? Is that the iso that I burn to the disk?
Thank you, sir.
Sorry about the link by the way, I can't post links yet.

Alright, Thank you. That worked! :good:
Would there happen to be one of those for droid r2d2?
That's what my phone actually is, it was just rooted as droid 2.
It says my battery is invalid and I need an original Motorola battery, but I'm using the original.

did you use stripped usb wires, to charge or bypass battery,
if so you likely damaged battery and/or phone
if you didn't, battery may not be connected correct
turn off phone, pull battery, putt back, check connections, for corrosion or other matter
or battery may be bad, get a new one

if you want r2d2 theme, you will have to use

Yeah, I have a warranty, so once I put droid r2d2 back on it, I'm going to get a new one.
Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.

Do you know of a D2G ezsbf and root for .629 that isn't from Rapidshare? Rapidshare is down and I cannot download it from there...
Thank you.

629 is for d2g, do you have one of those too? will not work on r2d2
rapid share only link i have could upload to google drive if you need, will take a bit, let me know

Milestone X - C-Spire - ClockworkMod & rooted 2.3.5?

Which implementation for "Flash ClockworkModRecovery" should I use with rooted GB 2.3.5, Milestone X, C-Spire (Cellular South)?
Droid X or Droid 2?
Thanks.
pretty sure that it is droid 2 droid x
Nothing (none of the options w/ uninstall and wiping of the Clockwork Folder) worked, then I got "DROID X Bootstrapper" from a MegaDownload or something similar
and
made my first backup. Great!
Now to tackle Custom ROMS and pitfalls. I still need to efficiently get to SBF my phone back to FROYO for security.
Definitely DROID X Bootstrapper from market......worth the money impo..
on gingerbread with the x... droid 2 bootstrap actually works better... so when ya buy one to support the dev... get droid 2 bootstrap... so you can keep usb debugging enabled...
Good to know Nemo.... Wait a minute, hell, I'm using debugging right now with the first 1.....???? What's up with that?

[Q] Need Help: Failed SBF Bootloader D2.37 Err:A5,70,70,00,1F

Hi everyone,
Please bear with me here but here is the full error I get when I tried to SBF back to 2.3.20 using RSD Lite 4.8 and the SBF file name is 955_2.3.20_1FF_01.sbf

I have tried multiple RSD versions, 4.7+patch, 4.8, 5.4, 5.6 and have had no luck getting past this message at all. I am out of places to look for help, any kind of insight would be wonderful! I was running stock GB trying to go back to Froyo prior to going to CM7.
I have read the forum post close to mine but it has the D2.35 BL and I can't seem to find any other info other than "wait till SBF is found" and with Droid2 not being sold/supported much I don't see much hope in this.
What can be done to fix?
I have tried:

Help! After a rollback to the stock firmware 2.2 through 2.3.4 RDS Lite, Motorola Droid 2 has stopped working, but you can bootloader on, it gives error:

You're going to have to wait until the 2.3.4 sbf files leak. I'm in the same boat as you and it's just a waiting game if it ever even gets released.
D2.37
hondateg91 is correct. Sounds like you took the new .621 Gingerbread 2.3.4 update and, like the rest of us, turned your phone into a paperweight by trying to downgrade. It really is a bummer, and a shame on Motorola's behalf. But don't think you're alone. All we can do at this point is hope and pray that 2.3.4 SFB is released, or someone comes up with a way to load an earlier bootloader that will allow SBF'ing the earlier firmwares.
need help to configure my Droid 2 overall by Verizon in French.
hello, I live in France, I bought a motorola Droid 2 Global by Verizon, the phone works properly, the problem is that it is set in English. and I do not know too much about English, I speak French and I'd set the phone in French, please can you help me? it is very important for me to set the phone in French. Thank you in advance for your help.
Droid 2 Fracais
jamesdmx - This thread is about bricked Droid2's (Not Droid2 Global) as a result of trying to "SBF" 2.3.4 Droid2's to an earlier firmware version. In the future, you should create a new thread, in the correct Sub-Forum, as your message is much more likely to gain attention this way, and you are for sure to get better results.
But since I'm such a nice guy, here's what you would do to change the language:
Click the menu button (the bottom right grey square that has an arrow on it)
Go to Settings. It looks like a grey circle gear.
Go to Language and Keyboard. This is 12th option from top and has an "A" icon beside it.
Go to Select Locale. It is the first option.
Unfortunately the Droid2 (at least the one I have) only gives me English and Spanish as language options. Maybe your Droid2 Global will give you the French option.
If it does not, unfortunately at this point, my suggestion would be to look into a custom ROM that has French loaded into it.
My next suggestion would be to start a new thread about this, in the right Sub-Thread "Droid 2 Global General" (URL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=903). Be sure to include what version ROM is in your phone, etc, so that the Droid2 Global people can better help you.
Whatever you do, though, don't do like me and cook a Droid2 because you didn't do your research before throwing files at your phone.
D2.37 Bootloader
And while I am on this thread, I will throw some ideas out to you guys. Who knows, maybe together we can figure out the "missing pieces" to restoring our phones without the 2.3.4 firmware.
Somewhere in my search, I was able to obtain the D2.35 bootloader in SBF Format. It flashed successfully to my phone.
The good news is, my bricked Droid2 is at D2.35 bootloader. The bad news, however, is that it still will not take the stock or 2.3.3 Gingerbread firmware.
Also, while goofing around, I discovered that the bootloader D2.37 was actually sent down as part of the Gingerbread 2.3.3 update, as the Droid2 I picked up yesterday has 2.3.3 and D2.37 as the bootloader. Since 2.3.3 and 2.3.4, theoretically, share the same bootloader, I don't know why it would refuse to accept the 2.3.3 firmware.
I think there's an "extra piece" of code that has been sent down in 2.3.4 that is superseding the bootloader from proper behavior. Then again, I don't know! But when you add all the facts together, I'm a complete Droid Noob, and I'm sure everything I have posted is stuff all of you are probably already aware of.
With this information in mind, such as successfully rolling the bootloader back to D2.35, maybe there is an "older" bootloader that can be SBF'd to the phone that will allow SBF Flash restriction to be unshackled. I don't know if there is older code than D2.35 out there, as I did not spend the time looking.
PS---The "attachment"?? Just for the LULZ. And yes, it was pretty cool! And I can't wait to do this to my "bricked" Droid2!
I know how to solve, most do not know much about software to achieve
: (

That method worked great, but it doesn't seem to have recovery installed. Is that done separately? I found that you are supposed to get to recovery by following these instructions but I am still stuck on the triangle:
1. Turn Droid 2 Off
2. Press 'X' on the physical keyboard and then Press and HOLD Power button until the Exclamation Point/Android picture shows(after motorola symbol).
3. To access menu options Press the "Search" button depicted by the Magnifying glass on the Keyboard and the menu items will show up.
4. Browse options with the Volume Up and Volume Down keys and select option with the Camera button all on side.
5. Select first option of "Reboot phone" or risk messing up your brand new Droid 2!

The OMG I DID IT Droid X .621 Seemingly Impossible Unbrick/SBF - With Solution!

Ok, I know I'm not known around here, but I just had to share my experience with you folks as a huge THANK YOU not just to XDA, but every damn Android Moto user out there.
I was given a DROID X that failed during the 621 update about a year from today. I followed every tutorial, every nuance, every little GD EFFING possible thing I could find and think of. There is A TON of talk about what I was trying to accomplish. Some guys just gave up and took the phone back to Verizon. I didn't have that option! I also had to do the stripped USB cable mod because the battery was dead AND fried.
What I discovered was that NEITHER 64bit OS I tried would flash the phone correctly.
Ubuntu 64bit? No go, even though the sbf_flash script reported no problems.
Windows 7 64bit? No go. RSD Lite kept giving me the "Error sending RAM download for bootloader. Device API Error 0xBLAHBLAHEXADECIMAL (they were different HEX errors every time).
Motorola cable? Probably helped in the end, but wasn't the magic solution.
I couldn't find a 1KDS .621 bootable Linux Live flasher (does one even exist?), so I just went with the manual method using 1FF-p3a_shadow_cdma_shadow-user-2.3.4-4.5.1_57_DX8-51-120111-test-keys-signed-Verizon-US.sbf on native Ubuntu as well as in a virtual machine. NO DICE.
FINALLY, after what must have been over two dozen attempts, with the DX booting straight into the 30.04 bootloader (with no errors, mind you), I decide to break out my ancient Dell Inspiron from 2003, still running XP. Installed RSD Lite 4.8 and the Motorola_End_User_Driver_Installation_5.2.0_32bit driver. Used the exact same methods as before on the other systems and IT WORKED!
Additionally, I did have the SBF in the root of C:\, whether that helped or not I dunno.
Fire away with any questions and I will answer to the best of my ability.
Again, thank you thank you thank you to everyone out there who unknowingly helped me along the way. Keep up the superb unpaid work!
glad you got it working

Came here to post this.
Actually, sd_shadow, that's what I ended up using for rooting AFTER I got 621 flashed using my OP method.
I can't remember how many times I've researched something to death, only to do that thing, then discover afterward that there's a new and improved way of doing it. Google just isn't that smart, but then again, that's not saying much for me either lol.
I had to reflash 621 after an unsuccessful attempt at just rooting using the ezSBF root-only ISO. I believe it was because I forgot to clear my cache beforehand. The root process hung at 18.8% while flashing CG66. I was able to repeat the process described in my OP then wipe data/cache, then root using the ezSBF method.
I must say that ezSBF is pretty dang slick! It was the 2nd most easy rooting process after Jailbreaking an iDevice, which I barely consider "tech bonerworthy". lol
@Superdefcon5: WTF? Go figure!
EDIT: Supplement to my OP. I forgot to mention that I used 3 different PCs running Win7 64bit or Ubuntu 12.10 64bit. Two desktops (Win7 and Ubuntu) and one laptop (Win7). I also tried Windows XP in a VM (Win7 64bit host) using RSD Lite.
I have also used rsd lite many times with win 7 64bit, and I worked fine
but not all pc all equal, and I'm not saying better, just different hardware and software
that's why 1kds created ezSBF
