Hi,
Very silly question, but dont know the answer, please help!
Recently installed Tytung's Jelly Bean rom ad and at the end of installation tells me the aroma installer
not to forget to et my sd boot folder to nativeSD.
I chose the sd-ext installation during setup so this step is essential.
Tried option 10 in CWM but don't know which directory to select.
I also have ext4 2Gb and fat32 partition on SD card.
Thank you for your help

Choose option 10, then 1, then 3 - a list of all the directories on your card appears, choose nativesd. Then set your boot preference to android sd.

When I select option 3 and see all the directories there is no nativesd folder therefore I can't select it.
Any idea?
usually when you flash a NativeSD to EXT4 partition it will create a Folder in SD called "Native Folder", try the link below it might help
Sorry to hijack but the problem I have is that nativesd folder has been created, but when I attempt to set the directory in magldr it just blinks back to the first menu. I've read that this can be due to the type of sd card, but I've tried two different ones with the same result.
I partitioned the card on my sensation, using 4ext, the fat32 and ext4 partitions are primary and according to the instructions, but still no success - any ideas?
how about trying to format the card via PC?
give the link below a try it might help
Formatting on the pc got an unnamed brand 2 gb and very slow sd card to work, magldr recognised the folder structure and I was able to set the boot directory - but the ROM runs very slowly, as I would expect.
I next tried a 16gb x6 card, Kingston brand in exactly the same way but magldr still refuses to view the folders - is there a problem with Kingston cards?

It's at the AD SD Dir - NATIVESD stage where magldr simply jumps back to the main menu, I don't even get to see the folders on the card so can't choose the boot location.
On a non-brand 2gb card it works okay, but a Kingston brand gives this problem.

Try to install new CWM recovery
I have no idea if this problem is solved in the meantime, but when I try to select boot folder same thing happens. It's only with one of my SD Cards (Samsung 8GB 4).
The problem occurs after starting the phone or after rebooting it. Magldr does not find the SD Card and therefore can not select a directory. When in Magldr the SD Card is released and then pushed back into the slot, everything works fine - until next reboot or start of phone. I repeated this several times and behaving of Magldr everytime was the same. I use Magldr V 1. 13, there ist nothing else installed on the phone (no CWM). With a different SD Card everything works fine. I tried to check this on a different phone, because I thought that maybe the card slot is damaged, but my second HD2 behaved the same way. The problem SD Card made the same kind of problems, other cards worked well....
Hi, I have the same problem, and instructions in this thread doesn't help since I'm using CLK instead of MAGLDR.
How can I do this in CLK?
Felt 100 installations later I would think, there are MicroSD-Cards that simply do not work. There are lot of phenomena I even don't think about describing here. My Conclusio: Don't to use SD-Cards that have issues.

Hello guys.
I have a HTC HD2 running Windows Phone 7 (on MagLdr 1.2).
I want to DualBoot Android AND WPH. Ive watched a tut on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTHRAUHZHlo
I did exactly the same and after that i took this Android DesireHD Built: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881937
It worked fine but android said, that there isnt a sd card in the device. Of course it is, cuz android boots from the sd card. When i remove my sd card, android freezes (of course). I tried to restart and i put the 512 MB data.img in the folder but there was the same problem again..
I tried it with an other card and i pushed the button "mount sd card"
and than it said "u can take out the sd card now" (or something like that)
Plz help me!
I am having the exact same problem. Have you found the problem/solution to it.
thanks.
you both update you magldr that should fix your issues.
so get newest radio, than flsh magldr 1.3
before you update make a complete backup!!
hope you both have the right partition layout on sd card.
(first partition must be fat32 second ext3 or ext4)
hope this helps.
for tut look at forums or pm me!!
Can someone describe the exact steps that are required to mount the SD card when the Android build is being run off the SD card using MAGLDR.

This will not help them at all, MAGLDR just serves as the bootloader for Android not the OS.
Allso you can not remove your SD card will booted into Android if you are using a SD card build it is running of the SD card not NAND.

So basically I cannot mount the SD card, no matter how it is formatted ?
I totally have this same problem. Neither WP7 or Droid will read the 16 GB card I'm using to run Droid. I think I'm using the DesireHD build also, maybe its that? I can probably see if changing it makes a difference.
I have the same problem. First time i installed WP7 and android, everything was working fine. Then i had to reset WP7 because it kept freezing, i followed the same steps again to dual boot with android and it booted fine but SD CARD is not mounted for some reason. I have tried 3 different android builds with same problem. Any help or tutorials?

This happened to me too with two SD cards. What I did was I run the Partition SD Card from AD Recovery. I forgot the partition layout, just find something that works for you. I was surprised that it has successfully created a partition...this erased everything so I needed to re-copy ROM files to SD card via Card Reader on my PC.
When I did it over, It finally worked. Am now running Sensation XL ROM.

Please forgive me for reposting this but I cannot find the answer and it's driving me crazy.
I am running a dual boot HTC HD2 with Windows Mobile 7 in NAND and Android on the SD card.
Windows Mobile 7 creates a dedicated and non-standard partition on the back half of the card.
Android is booting from a FAT-32 partition on the front of the card.
The partition table looks something like this for the 16GB Class 10 card I am using:
FAT-32 Partition from 0 to approx 7.3 GB set as primary.
Type 4 Partition from 7.3GB to the end of the card.
When running Android from a dedicated SD card the SD card can be found at /mnt/sdcard and everthing is hunky dorey.
However, when the Windows 7 partition is also on the card /mnt/sdcard is empty (there is nothing mounted there). All of the applications that look for an SD card cannot find it. I did find the entire contents of the SD card in /bootsdcard.
I tried creating a soft link between from /bootsdcard to /mnt/sdcard and that did not work.
Does anybody have any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks,
Mike

That is exactly the procedure I followed to get the dual boot to work at all on 1 SD card. That is how I got the two partitions.
Android boots from the SD card and works (I am using it every day). Android just doesn't think that there is an SD card installed for A2SD or any other SD card function.
Should I reduce the size of the FAT-32 partition and create another FAT-32 or EXT partition?
Help please, this is driving me crazy.
You have to start all over. Just save your data on both OS's. You should have only 2 partitions in the end FAT 32 for android and Other for Window 7. Make sure that Window 7 partition has a larger partition size than android, otherwise you will have a lot of errors. Hope this helps you out. J
I've done that twice. Everything works in Windows 7 the only issue is for some reason Android doesn't see the SD card that it is booting from.
What SD card are you using? I am using 32g Sandisk Class2. Everything works perfect on mine with the HD2. Perhaps it's the SD Card?

The card works fine for Windows 7 with or without the Android FAT-32 partition.
If the FAT-32 partition is the only partition on the card then Android sees the card correctly.
With both partitions Android (MCCMBoxmax V8.0) boots and runs from the card just fine with the exception that Android doesn't see the SD card that is was booted from. However, the card is mounted on /bootsdcard.
I even tried splitting the FAT-32 partition into a smaller FAT-32 partition and an EXT2 partition. That also did not work.
I have tried the following cards:
Samsung 16 GB Class 2 - MMB3R16GUACA-GE (replacement supplied by HTC)
Patriot 16 GB class 10 - PSFGMCSDHD10-BC
And like I said, both OS's work except for this one android glitch.

I had exact same issue on my previous dual boot setup on various cards and various roms. Prior to this I had no problems setting up a dual boot with WP/Android.
Okay, so this is probably not helpful, since I am very limited in my understanding, but others out there chime in if you know... I may be wrong but it seems that back when we only had Windows Mobile 6.5 with the ability to run Android from the sd card, it seems that there was this same limitation. I think that it is the case, because I remember in January when the ability to run Android from NAND first was released, I was all excited because we would finally be able to use our SD cards in Android correctly. In summary, I think it is due to running Android from SD... it doesn't recognize the SD card as an sd card because it treats it like the internal memory. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to remember that.

However, the SD card works properly if there isn't a Windows Mobile 7 partition even when booting from the SD card.
Something about the Windows partition is messing up with the mounting of the SD card. I just don't know enough to figure it out.

I installed WM7 on NAND, and Android 2.3.4 on SD Card. I followed the original steps as mentioned in this thread above, and have run into the same issue. That is, android is not able to recognize the SD Card. Now, my question is that can I just format (and delete) the first half of the sd card (the one that has android) .. and then create one Fat-32 and one ext-2 partition on that .. Will that work? I am trying to understand if I need to upset my windows installation at all ..
Also, I need to understand the role of Partition 1 and partition 2 above. I was of the understanding that the "Android" folder (ROM Files) should be loaded to the Fat32 partition. However, in this case it seems that the ROM files are kept in ext2 partition instead?
Thanks in advance, for your help
Can't get WP7 partitions created on reset
I have the US T-mobile HD2 loaded with WP7 7592 Green Mango with market place ROM and it runs fine on a 2GB Samsung card. I also have a class 4 Adata 32 GB card that I have a 14.4 GB FAT32 partition created for Android, and that runs without issue. I have tried a bunch of different ways to get it to dual boot but have had no success. I tried lots of ways including these:

and
http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/24/h...roid-promises/
and

The main issue is that when I have tried doing the phone reset on WP7 NAND it doesn't seem to create the necessary partitions on the 32 GB card any way I try, and I've tried loading WP7 ROM with the 32GB card in the phone. But whenever I boot up WP7 with the 32GB card in the phone it says: storage card not working, so I boot up with 2GB card in phone, select reset and right before I click the the last confirmation I switch the cards, but after going into Magldr on boot up and putting card into PC the new partitions haven't been created. I also tried splitting the last part of the drive into a 203 MB Fat 16 drive located just right of FAT32 partition and then creating unformatted partition with remaining space. I have 2 card readers and 2 2GB cards and the 32GB card. Please tell me what I should try next. Thanks so much!

It may be your card is not compatible with WP7
32 GB WP7 Compatible Cards
I guess that's right, but I have looked through posts and not found any list of 32GB class 4 or higher cards that are compatible. It seems that a lot of people are recommending sandisk cards. If that is the brand I need to go with I can. Thanks for the correction.
Hey everyone,
I keep getting the same error while copying the Typhoon zip-file to my SDcard (empty, and 8GB is available).
It seems to be loading it onto the SD card, but it gets stuck (see 1st photo), then I get this error saying the card is no longer connected (which it is). I've turned off my phone several times and tried again and again, but I can't get it to work.
I hope someone can help me.
If not, how do I get back to windows 6.5 ?
Use an sd card reader. They are normally really cheap.
Otherwise format the card with sd formatter (program) and retry.
Before that you can try to copy the files via clockwork mod :
Mounts and storage and the mount usb or try to mount just sd.
Hope this helps you.

Hi Y'all
Im having the same problem trying to Install NAND Android with ClockWorkMod Recovery. At the last step,
7. Open your favorite ROM (ex. JawsMIUIrec1.0.7z) with 7-Zip.
8. Copy .data folder and ex. JawsNandRec1.1.zip to SD card root level.
I encounter exactly the same thing the OP is saying. Its not copying over. Im using a Kingston 8 GB microSDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card SDC4 and my PC is running 7.
Any other suggestions?

hi really did try searching for this couldn't find any help.
i successfully had WP7 on my hd2 with a 4GB card, had it activated via chat and everything. I wanted to put in my 16GB card and try setting up a dual boot with android.
WP7 gives me an error now "memory card not working" and my only option is to turn off phone (or make emergency call).
it gives me that error with the 4GB card and the 16GB card.
i have tried reflashing it with the 16GB in it and that doesn't work.
I have tried reflashing it with no card in it and that doesn't work.
pretty sure i tried with the 4GB card too.
i know both cards work. the 4GB still has the small partition and the larger unknown from the wp7 install.
any help please?

I used a PNY 16GB c4 SD card for dual boot, no problem. WP7 is picky though.
4GB is cutting it WAY too close for any kind of functional dual boot. Each OS takes about 1GB. That doesn't leave you much room for anything else.
that's interesting that my pny 16GB doesn't work while yours does.
I tried to setup dual boot but i didn't do something right cause i get a load error when i try to do from the SD rom.
when setting the card up for dual boot, i was watching a youtube video of a person here doing it, at one point the partition they are working on goes from fat 16 to fat 32 but he doesn't describe doing it.
youtube.com/watch?v=jhuR59UXw_4&feature=player_embedded
i'm not sure if that is the prob or what. I ended up converting the partition to fat 32
i got the dual boot figured out using this guide instead:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYL1M40Ntzo&feature=player_embedded
there was some editing i was not doing.
this was with the 4GB. i'll try to find another bigger card that works.

Hello there,
I have a HD2 with NAND Android up and running over MAGLDR.
I've noticed that Ubuntu can now be booted over MAGLDR and I have decided to give it a shoot, since it's easy enough to try.
I have done everything that has to be done, but the problem is when trying to boot over MAGLDR I get this message:
"k: zimage sd kernel open failed"
I do have the zImage and the initrd.gz in the root, also the linux folder.
I've tried going to Services > Boot options > AD SD to choose from where to boot, but it jumps back to main menu.
That's the problem and I'm guessing that MAGLDR doesn't recognize my SD card.
Btw, it's a Kingston 8gb formatted to FAT32 Primary.
I hope you guys can help a fellow HD2 owner out!
Is your recognising SD Card otherwise, other than MAGLDR?
I have faced a similar problem where neither WM6.5 or WP7 or MAGLDR or CLK detect the SD Card however it is detected by bootloader.. See link below

Hello,
it recognizes the SD card everywhere except in MAGLDR.
In the mean time I found a exact same thread like my problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1315808
Basically it tells me that my SD card just doesn't work with MAGLDR.
So, has anyone found a solution that doesn't involve buying a new SD card?

Unfortunately that thread is right, your SD isn't compatible with MAGLDR. I have the same problem with my Kingston 16GB class 4, so it appears to be something to do with Kingston cards. You should have received a Sandisk with your phone, which is enough if you want to use SD builds only to try ROMs out, but there isn't much you can do to sort it out I'm afraid.

Alright,
well that's kinda sad, tho I still thank you both for the info.
I'm having a similar issue with my 32gb Sandisk class 4 card. It used to work fine, but then Magldr stopped seeing the file structure for sd boot. With trial and error I used gparted to recreate a ms-dos partition table. Just now magldr sees the file structure again.

Found a solution, thanks for trying to help guys! :victory:

Was it this? If not, then would you be able to explain how you did it, please? I have the same issue so it would help. To be fair, I haven't really tried to resolve it properly yet, so it's probably an obvious solution which I missed.
It doesn't work once again...
Tho what I did to make it work is using "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition":
1.Delete the partition
2.Create Partition: set Primary, set Fat32, set allocation table to 32K
3.Apply
That's basically it, I copied all my files excluding the linux ubuntu I wanted to try over MAGLDR...
Next day I tried to select AD SD dir and it OPENED it up, I was amazed!
I then booted android, selected to copy over usb, copied over Linux(around 3.2GB).
I rebooted back in to MAGLDR, tried to select AD SD dir and the same problem occurred... :silly:
I have no clue what else can be the problem, I tried then deleting the Linux, because it worked without it, and again same problem...
So basically it stopped working after I connected the sd card over usb while on android to copy linux... from that moment I couldn't select AD SD dir any more, just jumps back to main menu.
I would like suggestions if anyone knows what might happen?
Was I lucky to just make AD SD dir working? Or was it the allocation table I mentioned that I changed to 32K?
EDIT:
I've been thinking...
Since my goal is to have an android NAND and a Ubuntu over SD, is that all possible if I switch the bootloader from MAGLDR to CLK?
I've never tried CLK, but I'm sure it boots Android NAND's just fine, but what about Ubuntu over SD? Does it have problems recognizing SD on CLK?
