Can not install offical 6.5 from HTC

Hi
I just bought a used Diamond 2 and wanted to update it to 6.5.
But when i try it stops for at 9% and then looses connection with the PC but recovers and continues to 18% then it stops and the RUU wants to recover the installation, that resulted in the same error.
Luckely I tried the offical 6.1 installation, and that installd OK so my phone is OK.
But why can´t I install 6.5?
I checked with the guy i bought it from, and he said it has been flashed before with a dutty or tom´s rom.
Can this be why it wont load?
I check the bootloader screen (thanks to Drag-On guide) and i says SPL-1.33. OliNex MicroP-Topaz (LED) v10
Do I need 1.83 to install offical 6.5?
I am using swedish rom since I am swedish.
Can anyone help me?

Try hard spl 1.83, then try re-flashing your 6.5
If it still won't flash, try a different rom. Download a cooked rom, Tess 4.0 for instance, and see if you can flash it. If you can, there is probably an error with the original rom. Tess is close to stock anyway, but faster and better

yeah try hard spl 1.83 1st and then u'll be able to flash wm 6.5.
that's the only wayt to do it, otherwise it'll remain stuck at 18% everytime u try to flash the new rom

i have same problem now.
Please, where did you find offical 6.1 installation?

I have downloaded the energy rom for the HD2 ive don everything i was meant 2 like the radio and the hspl but im stuck on the loading screen with the nrgz logo and i cant get it workin i only installed this rom cos i was gonna put froyo on it 2 run android but now i cant can some1 plz help me and yes i am a noob

hard reset, boot into hspl, run task29, reflash
while your at it, since your having issues flashing a WM rom, take the time to format your sdcard, i predict you'll be having issues flashing android...

hi guys i have a very strange problem
after a week that i tried wp7 i decided to go back to wm + andro sd....
i already did other times and everything was going well...
i did task29 to install my usual energy rom...copied back my usual android rom backup...but...
Android dosnt load...its stuck at "htc page" for hours...i tryed different rom...tried the same build of my backup and nothing happens...
now i went back to wp7 and set for dual boot from maglar...always stucked at htc screen...
i really need andro for google maps until wp7 have his version...im going crazy!
anyone ever had the same problem?

with a fresh installation of android after 2 hours of wait (i was sleeping hehe) data.img isnt created...tried to put a fresh one from the stock rom but nothing

I had the same issue. Try loading an official WM6.5 rom. Dont task29. Then load magldr, then CWM them flash build of choice. you should be fine.

i will try this evening at pc...but im not very practice with short words...cwm stands for?
i have to task29 to go back from wp7 cos with new roms the update tool dsnt connect

Hope this is helpful.
As Nick.C has pointed out CWM = ClockWorkMod Recovery. Im assuming this is the method you are using to flash your builds.
I did not mean for u not to use task29 at all. Follow the steps below and all should be well.
1. Task29 to remove Windows Phone 7
2. Flash official WM6.5 Build (DO NOT Task29)
3. Download and use SD Formatter 3.0 to format SD Card. Set option to Full Erase and Size adjustment to ON.
4. Install MGLDR 1.13
5. Flash CWM
6. Flash your favorite android build.

just to be sure...after flash official rom...i think i need to hspl before flash maglrd
i know i should read mag installation guide...but...im stuck in highway and im too lazy to find it hehehe

If you have flashed custom roms before, then you already have HSPL installed, because u cant flash custom roms without it. HSPL is always there until you remove it, even if you flash an official or custom rom.
To flash MGLDR - Boot into the boot loader screen (Multi Color Screen) and then flash MGLDR
To flash CWM - Boot into MGLDR and select usb flasher then flash CWM. Some chefs have there own custom CWM so read there instruction so u will know if you will use the original CWM or their version.

i had installed TyphooN_CM7_v3.7.5-MAGLDR and the phone frooze then gave that error i tried to reinstall fresh rom

then when i choose AD Recovery it gives me that error

I have this problem too.
How I got it back was flashing back to WINMO 6.5 ROM, flash MAGLDR, flash AD RECOVERY and ANDROID ROM.
This however is only a temporary solution. After using Android ROM for a while, it freezes and when rebooting, the 1E Fatal Hit comes back.
I tried to look for solutions but so far no body can tell what exactly the problem is.
Some say is Over Heating and other say is bad Nand Blocks.
Even so no proper solution yet.
If anyone knows how to fix it, please reply to this thread.

I flashed the hspl succefully and then the rom I used the world wide english in the link u sent me it opens on the htc entery page and freezes what should i do

I need a rom of windows mobile 6.5 it was in english and it seemed like one of these

it had some extras like i could set musicplayer on the first screen,basicly i could set every thing on the desktop. can anyone help me?

I'm not certain, if you are looking for a custom ROM or just Cookies Home Tab CHT , which mainly is the tool to do all the setup, you mentioned.

Im trying to install one of these roms but it can not be installed. i tryed from sd card too but it says loading...
and i cant install cht too and cookies because the clock and others become to big..

Can you describe the error a little more detailed? I was able to install nsourm's ROM without problems. Did you see the tri-colored screen already?

I tryed to install nsourm_rom_0409.nbh and all of them and cant be installed, i can install roms from shipped roms and those can be installed but this can not...it stuck at 0% and the rom from http://www.filefactory.com/ can not be downloaded Ive downloaded a old one .. couse this says: "All free download slots are in use. You can download this file immediately by upgrading to FileFactory Premium. Otherwise, please feel free to try again shortly. "

You gotta try multiple times, until you get a slot to download a newer version. I tried at least for half a day
The flashing itself worked, but I remember it took more than 10 minutes to finish.
Did I understood right, that you have flashed custom ROM's before?

I've downloaded the rom and when i try to install it gives me error 262 and it does not continues to be installed stays at 0% ..yes I'have flashed before... but i did not made a backup of that rom

Just to be sure i understood your problem: Did you used SSPL with a custom ROM and it didn't work ? What OS do you have on PC ?

yes that is right...im using windows 7 ultimate .It can not be upgradet stays at 0% and then gives an error :S

EROR 262 you can solve this way
- Make shure battery is over 50%
- Soft-reset the device - Don't Skip This Step !
- If is on your PC installed Software-Firewall, Deactivate it (temporery,just to be sure, Reactivate FW later)
- Use orignal USB Kable. (usb data link cable)
- Right click on the RUU.EXE and click on Run as Administrator

- make sure, you choose ActiveSync profile upon connecting the phone to PC
- ActiveSync should be set up completely and Sync connections with Win7 PC should be working without problems before starting with a new ROM
