Hey so I was wondering what people think of the available roms and which is best for performance. I have always run hydro Rom but i have seen a few others including clean Rom etc. Opinions please?

the best rom?

I currently have darky's rom 3 installed and right now im kinda disappointed as the only real difference i've noticed is loss of battery life its dropped around 25% for no apparent reason. So i was wondering what kind of roms you guys have installed and what benefits are you getting from them? im thinking of taking away darkys and replacing it with new one, failing that i will just remove it altogether.
They all the best to each person who uses that Rom as every rom usage will be different from person to person.
the question is Which Rom is BEST FOR YOU??
try them all and choose whats best for you... we have different taste and preference... Enjoy your Journey
Depends on whether you still want Samsung features or just pure ics like cm9. I'm currently using slim ics debloated and 450mb of free ram.
I love checkrom since the galaxy s 2, it's awesome on the galaxy s 3. Very fluid with awesome battery life.

There's no "best ROM". If there where everybody would use it. It's all about taste. Same with that damn battery life whining. Try them all out and chose what fits your preferences.

"Best" rom threads are not welcome on XDA, as there is no such thing and the thread inevitably lead to hot headed comments from people trying to "big up" their favorite dev.

Best kernal for my ROM?

I'm running the newest pacman ROM and was wondering if I could get some recommendations on a good compatible kernal that supports over clocking. I'm dying to see how much speed I can get out of this tablet. Right now my stock huawei dual core phone gets higher quadrant scores,lol...

I'm on the same ROM, although i'd like someone to prove me wrong, i dont think that there is a compatible OC kernel

Best suitable ROM's and kernels for my nexus 4

Just a simple question which I would like everyone's opinion on.
Through your experience what has been the best ROM and kernel used on your nexus 4 that provided the best performance, battery life, fluidity, great customizations etc...?!?

these threads are nit allowed on xda. to find your best rom and kernel you have to try them out. our phones all react differently, and all our needs differ, so the only way to get your best rom and kernel you personally have to try them out. you device will let you know which rom/kernel it likes best, and only you have your needs/wants.
Oh really? I didnt know. Thanks for that

Please - do not compare ROMS on here. I know that you have good intentions but it's against the spirit of XDA. Every dev here is doing their best for free and for learning.
The thing is, that how good ROMS are is a subjective matter. I think you should open the original Android subforum and check the various ROMS. There you can also see if a ROM has bugs or if it's stable and draw your very own conclusion!
I hope this helps!

I know "stable" and "best" when it comes to ROM's are always subjective, but I think it's still fair to ask to get a quick general consensus.
To the OP, I'd go with Madhi or SlimKat personally.

Hello

There is no such thing as a "best/most stable/... ROM". Just head over to the dev sections, test a few and then decide for yourself
