Agreed. I can't understand why there aren't more pentaband phones out there. Its hard to give up that convienence when traveling of always knowing that any random SIM card will give you data.
This is only 16GB. They need to offer 32GB and 64GB.
I'm really tempted to order this from Newegg right now, but I'm wondering if I should hold out longer and see what the pricing of the AT&T off contract note will be. If it would be roughly the same as what Newegg's price is I'd order this second. I'm so pumped for a Note II.

I'm on AT&T. I'll just wait till it becomes available. I want the LTE capabilities if I'm spending the much money. I'm guessing it'll be $650-700 off contract with AT&T besides I don't travel overseas.

This will work on ATT out of the box and will use 2G EDGE out of the box on T Mobile. T Mobile is refarming their network so buy the end of this year it will be working on the 4G HSPA+.
Since I'm on Straight Talk with no plans to jump to AT&T anytime soon LTE doesn't really matter to me, but you never know.

The cheapest N2 in the UK is going for £499 online and that site doesn't even have stock. While more reputable sites are selling for £528 next day delivery.
A carrier aka ThreeUK are selling it off contract for £499. But it's SIM locked of course.
I have never lived in the US and have no idea on off contract phone prices. But if you're excited for the phone, even paying a little extra for early use can be considered a worthy premium.

Was just going through my account and decided to check how much phones are at retail price, so I clicked my line for a upgrade knowing I'm not due for one, scrolled all the way to the bottom and noticed the Galaxy Note. Now here's the interesting part. I'm not due for an upgrade till December of this year. The Galaxy Note still says $299 if you preorder even if I'm not eligible for an upgrade.
I checked with an agent and she says that it's correct, even though I'm not eligible it's still available for $299. I think that is AWESOME.

Yeah, I wonder if it's a loyalty sort of thing. Round up a few AT&T mates who aren't upgrade eligible and see what the verdict is. This could spell awesome things for Note development if it's AT&T-wide. At that price you'd be silly not to at least give it a whirl.

By the time it ships it will be <$400.
Plus delivery times after that, I've had weird shipping time total from deal places like that and 1sale ect, almost a month after purchased.

For anyone who cares I had about as good of an experience as I could have had with my purchase from Negri. Expansys.ca lists the phone for more than Negri, so for anyone in Canada who wants a Galaxy S3 I definitely recommend Negri.

The only reason I didn't wait for the Canadian model to be released is that I don't think development on XDA will be as good. Although, if the same model is released across North America development will be pretty solid. We'll see if I start kicking myself when the first reviews for the North American variant start pouring in next week.

On-contract, AT&T will probably get you the best speed. Off-contract? Probably StraightTalk. Look into T-Mobile and see if they have refarmed your area for the 1900MHz frequency (try airportal.de). It's likely though that they haven't, making StraightTalk your best bet for HSPA+ speed off-contract. Check the provider forums and coverage maps for your area.
According to the new egg listing for those note 2's they are 3g and not 4g.

The international Note 2 doesn't have LTE.
It's on my invoice also, the warranty that is. I contacted Newegg to confirm if the are extending the return policy on the phones. The 'confirmed' with there manager and was told that it is still a 15 day return unopened, which is there standard policy for unlocked cell phones. They would still allow for an exchange up to 1/31/13 and price match as well.
This is a 3g phone for AT&T...no LTE, which is fine with me. LTE will not be in my area for sometime, and I am always on wi-fi...
I pulled the trigger on the grey model tonight! I also promptly ordered the Samsung official hard/bumper case from the Samsung site, a screen protector and an AT&T Straight Talk micro sim.
Time to retire the Galaxy Nexus and the T-Mo prepaid. I'm honestly a little bit excited to get onto AT&T's network. Out west the T-Mo service gets a bit sketchy outside of the I-15 cooridor. Every time i'm in Montana, Wyoming and even parts of Idaho its a total crap shoot if I'll even be able to get voice roaming (usually on AT&T's network). And building penetration in my office in Salt Lake is horrible.

When you put in your apn for Straight Talk, don't put in the first port or proxy that it says to. It'll help so that you may not get throttled as aggressively or kicked off the network.
Thanks for the info. I also bought a note 2 tonight. Also straight talk att micro sim card. I was holding out for the 32gb but the $90 off pushed me over the edge.

There have been some horror stories of people getting kicked off an throttle for all different things. Read the terms and conditions. It's really shady. The unlimited they claim is FAR from it.

Best Buy Rep here in Houston Texas area . promised me that I can pick up the Note 3 sept .27 ....yes in 4 days . She had to promise me over n over again cuz I didn't believe her. She told me " I've been dying to get this phone and been looking at our updates when will receive it in the system everyday .I promise you it will be here ! They pushed the date up because of the iPhone 5s ." She sounded very excited and giddy when she told me . I was just told the same thing by a Samsung-shirted employee in the Samsung Experience area of a Best Buy in Tualatin, Oregon. I specifically asked about availability for AT&T, and the employee answered "September 27th."
Still don't believe it. These people won't know anything until a higher up gets word from another higher up like a day before.

Which location is it? I'm also in the Houston area. Unfortunately I have T-Mobile but if they have it at the store before I get it I'd like to use it for a bit to see how it is.

Just called my local best buy in Buffalo NY. I was told the phone would be available for purchase on the 27th. That was the date in the computer.
This is where the sales representative got the 27th from.

I don't trust Best Buy since the Thunderbolt debacle they had. I pre-ordered it and was told by the sales reps week after week it was coming next week. They even had it listed in their weekly flyer as coming next week, 3 weeks in a row!

Best Buy shouldn't receive before att ships out its orders, So if they are releasing on the 27th, I expect att to be shipping mine soon...
Yeah, I'm thinking Best Buy might be making a mistake. In this screenshot from Bestbuy.com you can see release dates show as September 27th, but it also shows White one has Android 4.3, and Black one is Android 4.2.2?

Don't get your hopes up. According to what I see they don't have inventory and the street date in preorder systems still says to be determined.

Oh and att store told me that some preorders might be getting it between sept 27 - Oct 1st . Reason why I'm going thru best buy n didn't preorder is I'm selling my note 2 to them .

Any word on the date of the unlocked version? I may buy through best buy if it's available on Friday, but I would only buy the t-mo or international version... Basically, any GSM based note 3 with an unlocked bootloader.
