Can someone recommend me a new ROM? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi all.
I have been away from my HD2 since the beginning of the year when I picked up a galaxy nexus, well I'm having issues with that and its currently at the repair centre.
I used to run American Android on the HD2, but since just looking it doesn't look like its been updated.
can someone recommend me a similar ROM? if its jelly bean or ics that is a bonus but I don't want any htc sense or other bloatware

dtokez,
You are in luck! HD2 has recently received a new lease of life with NativeSD.. If you have a good SD card, you can enjoy ROMs of your choice (GB, ICS or JB) running on the SD card with performance as good, if not better, than NAND. Check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869673 to start enjoying NativeSD ROMs.

Thanks that looks promising, I will have a read through
What ROMs do people tend to be favouring most at the moment?

Aokp jelly bean build3

Or PA 2.15 if you like to mess with dpi's (or not).

NexusHF2 cm9 with tytung's new 3.5 kernel and if you do some trick with build.prob it is stable, fast and very suitable for everyday usage.

BlueOrange Mix v1.2 ICS is tiny and very fast.

Try the nexus HD from tytung with the latest securecrt kernel or the cm9ight from xylograph

I was running this for about a year and a half: TyphooN CM7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951
This morning I switched to NexusHD2-JellyBean CM10: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1930240
The GB build is definitely solid, recommended for everyday use. The JB build is stable until now and I decided to switch to it for everyday use; I have great confidence in tytung's releases.

this rom is good, smooth, stable and flexible custom.

i recommend nexushd2 jellybean http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1930240

Which is better in your opinion the three Android4 ROM?
icecream totsi 4.0.3 v9
nexus hd2 icecream
miui icecream 4.0.1
I have used all 3 and Tosti has been the most stable and reliable.

Don't know about Tosti.
I use Nexus HD2 v1.4 - fine speed and no errors yet.
Miui is still in beta stage and I've decided not to use it.
I recommend NexusHD2 ICS as well
Stay away from ICS version as they are not stable yet...
If you still insist, then you can try MIUI version of ICS as well..
I install all of theme and i think totsi is the best one
it is faster than other for me
I would say Nexus HD2 by tytung, if you install it right, works fine and its faster and smother.
Ics tosti v.09 for me so far its the easiest to use. used it since v.01 an it gets better each update tytung does good work to but it is a bit more complicated with extra scripts an apps2sd an so on. Your choice both are awsome givem both a try I have an so far I just can't leave icst.

ICS MOD2 Beta 6.3 tested works good

ics tostidroid worked great on mine, is quite speed and light...
but if you want a really stable rom I suggest you miui GB based, is the best rom on this device....I think ICS is too heavy...

I love Unofficial AOKP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441462
Many more customization options than NexusHD2 ICS (which I find useless). And battery and speed is great.
Thx
And the stability of this ROM ?
because Nexus HD2 that I tested was a Bugged release

all ics are not stable for now because it dont'have a full hardware accelleration but only an hack.
if you like stability put an gingerbread rom
I would go with xylo's aokp unofficial build. its getting closer and closer to a final, only thing missing is full hwa, but its definetly a great daily driver.
I'm using NexusHD2 ICS V 1.6 Of course there is no ICS rom with full Hardware acceleration for the HD2. This rom is very smooth as i use it everyday. The battery life is VERY GOOD (i get about 23 hours on moderate use).
there is no best mate, just "better", if u want fast, then go for AOKP aka IceCreamTosti, if u prefer a stable want, choose Nexus ICS CM9 from tytung's thread
I'm using the AOKP rom, dont have any real problems with it.
I'm also using Xylograph's unofficial AOKP rom without stability problems.
Thanks guys for your feedback
+1 Xylograph's unofficial AOKP rom
NexusHD2 is nice.
cm9 beta1 leo with hwa. I ve been using it and its stable and fast.
Out of the Nexus v1.6 and the ice cream Toastie rom is there anything that doesnt work on each rom? ie marketplace, camera
It appears to me that these two are the most popular SD ICS Roms - i want to make a choice between the two without testing really so any input will be greatly appreciated
THANKS LOVE XDA
You really should try it!
The fastest, stablest and best battery saver is Typhoon CM7 ROM! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951
Typhoon rom is not a ICS rom.Question is for ICS.

Stable wise - I was using Team Nyx ICS RC5 and it was quite a good ICS rom. I am now trying TAJB V7.1, which is pretty good but has some annoying bugs still it seems, so my recommendation is to upgrade to ICS if you want the stability. I think the JB roms are better on battery though compared to ICS.

If you want a stable ROM, you might want to try CM9 (ICS):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592131
If you want the latest JB, you might want to try CM10 Alpha:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778526
There are specific installation guides in both threads.
You can try TiramiSlim v2.0. Probably one of the best ICS ROMs.

ICS is here !!!!
try ICS by arco, ivendor etc etc n get engulfed in the awsummness
Go with a stock ROM for your requirements. JW8 is very fluid.
Sent from my I9000 Elite's ROM JRO03L 4.1.1 Beta 9 KF1 240DPi
Try a solid ICS ROM like Slim ICS 4.2. I never had less problems and I tried a lot.
Cant really recommend cm roms..
Try cm9 with devil3 kernel. Very stable and fast. And there is a offical stable version available now! The devil-kernel increases battery live and performance.

Generally on GB Roms everything should run, because it was released official.
On the other hand ICS runs faster and I have no problems so far.
Slim ICS
Hey man definitley reccomend had absolutley no issues with it literally never encounted a problem
I think CM9 Blueberry is pretty good for daily use. :good:
remics with sgs3 launcher

[Q] Old But Fast -or- New But Slooooooow

Hi GuysI was Wondering about what we should care about most Speed Or New Roms
I know it's hard to build a new rom and make it perfect "size speed errors etc"
I tried many roms on my hd2 and some of them were good fast and suitable for daily use but this was Froyo 2.2 or gingerbread
Now When I see new roms like ics 4.0 or Jb 4.2 I want to have it but I find more errors and it's slooooooooow
So My Question to youI want to have something really fast like froyo and new as well
i am asking for your recommendations guys as i am going to collage and my hd2 should be suitable for daily use so guide me
Hello there
afaik, if you want to handle both speed, stability and newest features you should aim between 4.0.4 - 4.1.2 roms.
4.2.1/2 might at time to time crash, but its been while since they are out so most popular 4.2 roms are for daily use.
4.3 are not yet stable so i wouldnt go for them.
I use PACman 1.2a JellyBean 4.1.2 (i believe its in my sig)
I have EU ver of HD2, and have some ext partitioning problems, so i cannot use roms that requires DataOnExt <4.2/4.3>
PAC thankfully lets me install it on Nand and it runs as smooth as baby's ass, + you can switch between Tablet/Phablet/Normal dpi, which is cool for me.
I miss some 4.2.2 features but for +1month of usage i can say i didnt see any crash.
I hope that helps you a bit, cheers!

i agree with you it's good rom :good: but i wanna ask you one thing the nand partition is around 180 mb so what is there for me for apps is around 230 mb and i think it's not a big space for installing apps
so how could you install apps in the rom without getting low internal memory issues
