Hello. I'll probably get shouted at for missing some FAQ somewhere, however, I am trying to flash my ROM on my phone.
I have rooted it, and I have downloaded the ROM, however, the instructions tell me I should use ClockWorkROM to install it, but on Google Play it tells me it is incompatible with my phone. Its a Gen1 San Francisco.
Can someone point me in the direction of a ROM installer that I can use?
Thanks, Chris
Having just posted that, I installed TFT software and that managed to download and install a new ROM (I think)

The wiki, under recovery, tells you how to install ClockworkMod Recovery. And has other useful info, worth a look
This is the development section. Please post all questions in the general section. Thanks! Thread moved.

I have made this thread exclusively for Q and A on Galaxy 3. If you have some doubts, questions or need some help just mention it in this thread. I think this will be better than posting a new thread in the Development Section or General Section and you shall also get more attention if most of you co-operate to visit and share your questions and solve others problems.
Hope this Thread will be used for asking questions and searching answers.
So how many of you think this is the right thing. If you support me kindly start asking your questions (if any) here from the moment.
Good job, we missed this in general section i think

Please see that Cyanogen Mod is currently in Alpha stage and some modules are not working.
If you want to install it any way for testing purpose follow the link below then you download the ZIP File. After download completes extract the zip to obtain a TAR file. Fire up ODIN and Select the OPS as you and Flash as one package with the TAR image. After phone flashes up and boot. Wipe Data and Cache from the Recovery and reboot. You would be able to use CM7 Alpha5 Fix1.
Please See- You cant install CM7 without flashing and also see that you have a backup of your whole phone. Use titanium backup from market.
CM7 Download link- http://www.multiupload.com/Y3GTH2QN56
If you dont know how to flash please inform i will help you with the links.
If your problem is still not solved. Kindly quote my answer and tell me.

I think it is not available on Samfirmware. I think we have to obtain from ROM Image of XXJPS.
I will help you out after searching.
I have one more problem with G3. It's vibration is very soft/gentle.
My old Samsung SGH-E900 had vibration like PlayStation's controller (very strong).
I know that using more battery but I want more power in vibration. Is it possible?
Vibration pattern doesn't help me.
Sorry for my poor english

You can t until you disable data2sd. And how do your widgets disappear?? The app or the widget will be in SD-ext partition. Which is not detected by windows.

edit: problem solved i was on go launcher ex and i put him to internal right now..(ext)

Quote Wikipedia, "BusyBox provides several stripped-down Unix tools in a single executable. It runs on top of the Linux kernel just as does Gnu/Linux. It is ideally suited to run in embedded devices. It has been self-dubbed "The Swiss Army Knife of Embedded Linux".".
Basically it is a tool which allows you to perform certain functions.
Eg : - Changing permissions.

Well Cyanogen Mod is still in alpha stage as the title suggests. And the camera driver is still not functional. It will be fuctional in the final build.

Hi,
I have CWM 5.0.0.6 on my pad, which works ok. However, I'd like to have the latest version and I've even donated for the touch version. Now, I've tried installing the recovery through terminal and through Rom Manager. Both says everything's fine, but the recovery still 5.5.0.4. Rom Manager, however, tells me it's 5.8.2.1 . I'd be inclined to think the recovery console just states the wrong version, but the lack of touch support is a dead giveaway.
An other indication is that "reboot into recovery" just reboots my tablet, but does not start the recovery.
Anyone seen this before? Know a way around it?
I think I used RecoveryInstaller to install the recovery when I first installed it. This was before it had official TF101 support. The recovery console, when entered manually, seems to work fine, though, as my ICS was installed and then upgraded through it.

How difficult would it be to try to be nice in the post? I was conflicted on whether to post in the QA section of the development section as it very well could be a bug more than a user question.
But...since I ended up with this section, it'd be great if a mod could move the post if it is in fact in the wrong one.

It's difficult to be nice about it because it's incredibly frustrating. If you're starting a thread in development to ask a question, it's in the wrong place. Period. The only place you should be discussing bugs in the development section is a thread for a specific ROM, kernel, etc.
As far as your problem goes, if you looked around any of the ROM of recovery threads you would see that ROM Manager is nothing but trouble for the TF. That's probably what screwed you up in the first place. If you want the latest recovery for your Transformer you need to use one of these:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1213723
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577929
I've been using the JvS CoRp one, and have been very happy with it.

Thanks for the links - I'll look into that. Regarding the frustration, I hear you. I'm a mod at some forums, and I know the feeling when someone's posting all the wrong things in all the wrong places. Didn't do it on purpose Actually, I knew it would probably be answered quicker in the QA section, but as I thought it might have a pinch of bug in it I opted for the slower way
Cheers, and have a good day
Hi,
I bought this phone and and liked it. But now I would like to upgrade from Froyo.
As I was looking in the dev section Aurora seams to the good choice (any input?).
In the installation instruction is written that for installing Aurora you have to have GB beforehand and here is where I have the problem. I have search the forum and googled all around and everywhere is a broken link for the GB.
Does anyone have it or know here to find it; if possible with the installation instructions.
Thank you

Which phone do you have. There are several flavors of this model and they are INCOMPATIBLE with each other!!!
Hi all,
This is probably my first post so before I go ahead I'd like to thank all developers on this site. It's got a wealth of information that helped me a lot.
Unfortunatey I haven't found a way to do this yet, so I'm posting and asking for help with this issue I'm having...
I used to run CM10.1 on my Nexus 4, I always patched that rom with autopatcher to apply openpdroid so I could set privacy stuff using the Pdroid Manager app.
I decided to go back to the stock rom due to issues I was having (my phone actually got bricked and I managed to fix it following excellent instructions that I found here).
Now I can't apply the openpdroid patch to the stock ROM because autopatcher only accepts zip files and I'm sure that it needs the structure of the ROM.zip to work. The Google factory image is a ROM.tgz file and upon extracting a zip and the factory image, I noticed that the structure is completely different. I have no idea how to create a zip file out of the stock rom.
I'm wondering if anybody could do this? I'm not sure if autopatcher requires deodexing... All I need is a stock 4.3 mako image in the form of a zip file that works like the CM roms, so I can patch it with openpdroid via autopatcher.
Is this possible? Could someone here do it, please?
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.
Thanks all for reading!
Welcome to the great xda-developers forums
Well you should search the Forum with the forum search for a tutorial to zipalign your stock rom, there are many out there i think.
I think i even saw a rom kitchen for that.
That thread belongs to Q&A by the way

Just my opinion but I think it would be better to find a stock, 4.3 deodex ROM in a flashable zip. I'm dead sure there's a few floating around in android or original android development. That would make it easier to patch
Edit: this should do, stock 4.3 zip:

I'm curious as to if, anyone has tried the BAM ROM 2.0? They just uploaded the 20140101 Build and I am using PA now. I ask for feedback because I was unable to locate a thread on the LG G2 forums for them as of yet. Also, the file size is 333MB so was thinking maybe they included their own GAPPS package with it. Anyways here is the link

I just flashed and to get it to boot properly, you need to install Aysir's PAEK kernel after flashing the ROM. And don't flash GAPPS. Looking in to SuperSU at the moment. Looks like I need to flash that as well. All in all, it looks good so far.
Member, Due to this ROM being Ban from XDA, I have edited your posts; why you might ask....the maker of this ROM, felt the need NOT to comply with XDA policy on ROM's and hence his banning to include his Work....so please do not post any bam/jellybam etc.
Thread Closed and links removed. Happy New Year.
