And for those kidding themselves about the s3 having enough ram, my note 2 uses up to 1.3gb or ram sometimes treating it the same way as I did my s3.
However it is DDR2 RAM not DDR3, so it is not as fast.
No phone has DDR 3 ...
huhhhh....

Doesn't the note 2 stock rom run more stuff in the background than an s3? Should explain the higher mem usage

It does to be fair but s3 was a hog too. It just needed more ram. I want note 3 to have 3gb. S4 doesn't excite me anymore, I'm happy till the n7300 arrives
after reboot:
This is the only reason of why I am going to change note 1 for 2.

I've found it to be anything but sluggish. I updated straight away to 2.3.3 and found the phone to be quite fast, but even running 2.3.2 which I've currently got installed I've found it to be quite fast also.
Paul O Brien rates it as one of the best phones on the market today.. so you clearly don't know how to use your phone properly.
I have a galaxy SII (apparently the fastest phone out there) and the arc as well...I dont know what lag u r talking abt...they are as fast as the other..
the only diff is in web browsing...where the GSII is much smoother in rendering and moving around the page...otherwise no diff at all..
and oh yeah...please dont say my SGII is running slow..its OC to 1.5ghz n all...so...
the arc being a single core device..is currently on par with double core devices in general day use...
You can wait for a Quadcore processor with 4 GB RAM coming soon ...

Seriously Arc is anything but sluggish!
Seriously what's the point of this thread?
You kept it in one side? Don't bother to use? Ok, fine. You don't have to let us know!! It's your phone after all .
Lol wow. I must have a bad arc then lol. I'm the only one with a slow arc right ! ...

wow
eh??
I might be acting dense but to me that reads:
"Galaxy Note 2, two quarter gigabytes of RAM"
Samsung seems to be getting very good with Memory Management
Doesn't seem like they have any real clue. Guessing that it will have either two or for GB isn't very far fetched. Most people would probably guess that.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
2/4 GB of RAM hmmm It probably means Note 2 would be packed with 2 or 4 GB of RAM.
Yesterday Samsung announced the kick off of production of 4GB LPDDR2 RAM already!
Whatever it is, I am getting it most probably. But I won't be an early adopter. They are always screwed!

I got it the very first week was released in oct last year. I did not get screwed by the phone as are many many others.
What did u even mean?
@Galaxy Note™…
I mean the firmware build is not all that smooth, the price is higher, and after a few months, at times weeks, you start getting better deals. Might not be true in your part of the world, sure is here.

Try v6_Supercharger. There's a flush command which really frees RAM.

It all depends on individual settings people have configured and the background process that are running.
You cannot differentiate the speed between sd600 and octa on real life usage

Try downloading the 'AVG tune up' I find this great for clearing caches, running apps, history cleaner, message and call cleaner and it seems to run perfectly, do you have a lot of apps downloaded because even though you might not have opened the app they can discreetly run without you being aware, also go to you settings and applications tab and scroll sideways til you come to processes and this is where you see everything running.
i upgraded to custom rom cm11m9. %25 diffirence and phone is good now. no stuck anymore

Hello,
RAM should be always free from running application because running application makes devise slow and hence it create bad performance.
