So I abandoned Android to go to IOS. I enjoyed the 7 months, but missed the freedom of Android. So I just purchase a Nexus 7 tablet, and use it more than my iPad 2, so thought I might as well get the whole package. Tomorrow my SIII will arrive and Ill be jailbreaking.....err rooting after it's activated.!

Yes, as a matter of fact I do. Omega 27.1.
There are many ROM's based on the latest Samsung Jellybean firmware, though, but Omega is the one that has really gotten to me.
Pity! Your going to miss out of some of the amazing ios 6 apps and features, like Apple Maps.

Have tried several roms their all great but not quite there yet .my only suggestion give the stock Rom a ride. After that we have tons of flavours of roms you can try
Personally I never liked to be told what I can and can't do on my Shi**t so that's why never even thought of buying an iSheep os
Don't know about you but I have made 4 friends sell their ipunked to get into android people hide their phones ones I pop this badboy out :thumbup:

No I am not kidding (again, sarcasm in case your wondering). I'm thinking of buying an iphone 5 and a boat to go along with it, for when Apple maps navigation routes include a river or sea crossing.
I got rid of my Ipad and bought a Galaxy tab 10.1. Maybe not as smooth but much more functional. Barely even touch my laptop anymore, unless Odin is required.

sorry just vanilla android, which is what you have before all the manufacturers put the unneeded skin and fiddle with the frame works to make their phones different from one another(these same modification also hinder the speed up that their phones can be updated from each android release)
Its funny actually all these great developers here can get the source code the day its out make a almost fully functioning rom/port while these big name companies stumble around for god knows how long to make an update when they have full access to the drivers and such
While I will admit from froyo to gingerbread was nothing monumental in way of adding lots functionality but security updates those were needed(still waiting to use my nfc to buy sodas from teh coke machines in the mall though)

welcome, and you have definitely made a good choice, it will last you forever, or until some accident happens
this is the best phone you can get at the moment, with the most development going on around it
however the only shortcoming of this phone is the missing MicroSD support.
i keep constantly running out of space, it's driving me mad
A good place to hang out, talk about tech related things mostly or what ever comes up.

my question about the tectiles is do regular NFC chips work with it also? i bought a bunch of them when i had my ummm nexus s 4g? yeah i think that had the NFC and used the NFC chips in my car to activate car mode and change some settings...
i still have those somewhere so if tectiles are just standard NFC chips i should be good to go...

Edit: So I activate my ET4G on my brothers number and activate my og epic for myself, just to set up for next week. I wanted to go ahead and set him up with cm9a5 (which is flawless in my eyes, thanks TeamEpic) and get that over with before my sgs3 shows next week.
I was already running cm9b5 on the og epic, and loving it. Now its activated and I'm using it more (before it was just a media player/app tester) and I can't help but miss my sgs2, but what that really says is,,, I'm going to LOVE the sgs3 even more when I have it

It's just not "officially" supported for AOSP builds directly from them. Doesn't mean they aren't built or perfectly stable like the one I'm on now.

Actually they still resell Epics as pre-owned refurbished devices for customers without insurance that need replacement devices.

Normally when I see a thread given 1 star I always give it a 5 star out of habit, but I gave this one a 1 star. I am tired of these threads of people comparing the two against each other. I hate how people are comparing a 200 dollar tablet to a 500 dollar tablet and they expect them to be on par with each other.
It may seem like nonsense but it is a legit question. Best answer is use a different browser. There are tons. Find one with the features you want and get used to it. There are lots of threads about this. Also look into Ad Block app from the market. It really helps in cut down the crap your having to load up and render.

Just to lend my advice, dolphin browser is pretty awesome. I'd give it and Firefoxa try and see if you get any better results. Chrome was just a bit... off to me.
And also, this is not an ipad, and it never will be. While the two play similar roles in our daily lives, they will never be the same. ios is a different os completely and its made out of spare parts of apples LOL. Android tablets aren't going to do everything the same as the iPad. I've personally used the newest iPad and must say I like this nexus 7 much better. Size and weight and screen clarity... nexus for the win

I'll have to agree with just lou on this. I have not experienced any of the problems expressed on the forums. As far as speed goes, my Nexus 7 simply flies. Absolute best $250 I have ever spent in my life, hands down.

Yeah your one of my best friends on XDA as well, but i wont be leaving xda just N1 community, but i will remain active in Off-Topic/Lumia 800 forums. I actually considered the Sensation, but fell in love with windows phone
