Hi everyone!
I just want start of by saying how grateful I am to this community. I've had my HD2 for 2 years now with no plans to change all thanks to the dedication and hard work and support I've received here.
Here's the problem: I installed Android nearly a year ago, ICS 4.0.3, CyanogenMod version 9.0. It initially ran beautifully, but now it slow as molasses, and a little infuriating. In fact, sometimes it makes me want to go back to WinMob 6.5 (yeah, THAT bad).
It seems to be draining the battery really quickly even though I can't seem to figure out what it causing the drain (I've tried changing the battery already). What I'm tempted to do is simply load a new ROM on it and start from scratch.
I'd really like an up-to-date ROM, but one which is stable and reliable (I don't need anything too experimental). I'd love your recommendations. Links would be appreciated as well, but I'm sure I can find them if I know what to look for.
Thanks in advance

It ran beautifully? I find that incredibly hard to believe, since at that time the only ICS ROMs you would find would be ROMs built from the SDK. Anyway, just try any newer ICS or below ROM, they all work fine.
For you...Xylos cyanmobilex leo 1.0 rom either on nand or native sd..

Try this or this ROM. Fast, lite, speed and smooth.
Typhoon ROM is the king. Fast, Rich and stable.
But thread is dying, because development stopped.

I second this but untill ICS or JB can fix netflix I'll jump ship. But for now Typhoon is best for me lasts me 2 days of regular browsing and texting. I did try WP7.8 but headphone jack in my car aux stopped me from using it as a daily.

Ok Guys, I've Seemed To Have Gotten Mixed Results When Searching For This : Is It At All Possible To Have The Stock HTC HD2 ROM, And Still Fully Use An Android Build [no robot voice] ?
Now I know you can flash the stock rom to other custom versions, which quite frankly I haven't found one rom yet that I really would use over the stock rom.
if this is a stupid question to anyone, please forgive me, I'm still learning this whole android thing !

No there is not. If you like how Android works on Android native devices you will like my rom setup. Its smooth functional. You can find it here.
http://leoandroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=212&t=168
I plan on making tutorials for other roms as well in the future.
don't think there is anything stupid in your question i personally use android (Darkstone's Froyostone Sense) with the newest stock rom (3.14). Apart from not having a flash for camera (couldn't care less), everything works pretty well, no robot voice, battery is quite good, though i don't have any automatic syncs, prefer manual, in standby the battery drain is 7-9 mA (without any registry tweaks/BsB thingy) hope that helps.
Sweet, Thanks Guys !
im going to check out both builds
I used Mdeejay's Desire Z 1.0a android build on my completely stock US HD2 without any robot voice. I even used Mattc's latest froyo build without any problems whatsoever, no SoD or robot voice. I just did not like missing the features of Mdeejay's build and switched back, however it did cause the SoD randomly and somewhat frequently. I finally broke down and put HSPL 2.08 and the latest energy (close to stock) Winmo Rom. Havent had the SoD issue since, battery life sucks (to be expected) using Android, but it's worth it.
Hi guys, I`ve just bought HTC HD2, and I`m tired of WinMobile, because my last 2 cell phones had WM. I was watching for SD android rom, but there are so many of them, I can`t pick. Maybe you can help me and give your advice. I need stable, fast android ROM, that has WORKING 3G / Data, Audio, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 720p PLAYBACK,Phone, Camera, Camcorder, GPS, USB Disk FUNCTIONS.
It would be perfect that it has Android market.
Looking forward to your advices
P.S , is there any threat of flashing Android Rom for the first time?
I am looking for the same thing, I've tried a few of the roms here on first page.
The one I liked most was the one from darkstone "darkstone SuperRAM FroYo v1.5" but it aint been updated since 18th december and is outdated and has security flaw, yet it worked perfect.
I could do all the things you said, and it was super fast, no lag, nothing bad.
All the newer ones dated march all have the SENSE thing, it sure makes it look nice and like your still in WinMo but theyr also MUCH slower and MUCH less responsive. Also many have trouble running games I could just install from market that ran with no trouble on the darkstone thing.
Of these I tried: "AmeriCanAndroid AOSP", "RAFDROID HD 4.1" and "BOYPPC")
So I will wait for responses here too ^^
(Regarding the slow sense thing, maybe its possible to disable it somewhere, beyond my knowledge how to though)
these are my favorite SD builds, all the stuff you mention seems to work for me.

the second one is a chinese port of a great ROM with an iPhone feel to it, it's quite fast and awesome.
No, there is no harm in flashing an Android ROM to NAND, it actually flashes over MAGLDR which is a bootloader than flashes over HSPL, this basically means no matter what you flash Android-wise can be undone very easily with no risk.

See my comparison chart: http://bit.ly/hUCNww for SD builds. Suggest Darkstone SuperRAM (v1.5 or Sense v0.1). I have not found one build that beats these - please speak up if any of you found a better one - SD or NAND.
I find coredroid (nand for all leo versions), to be very stable and fast with a good battery life, Over the past 2 weeks no lock ups everything works, the odd tweak is required but its well worth looking into
Haven't seen anything new since Hyperdroid CM7 2.1.0, which was released going on 2 months ago now, and GBX V12 before that. Just wondering if he's moved on to something else, and if we should be expecting anything new anytime soon. I don't want to give up on Hyperdroid, but if Pongster's gone, I guess it will be time to move on to something new
I guess you didn't realize he has a new baby either on the way or already here and a regular job to contend with. Pongster's build is pretty stable if you ask me. Just uses more battery than other ROMs that I have used on my phone.

Mine just work fine. Medium-heavy use gives me max of 15hrs.
Sent from my Calculator with Android.
low and heavy usage are different for every person. mAh are more informative and on this side the battery was worse for me than on other builds.
Hyperdroid cm7 works no problems for me. 15 - 18hrs is OK for me

No, I didnt realize that, and after searching through his ROM forums, didnt see anything about it and gave up searching. His ROM is more than stable though and I love it. I get up to 18 hr's a day of battery on normal usage, with a couple tweaks too though. Its the only ROM I've been using since I first tried his GBX V2.0, but if he's taking time off to handle personal stuff then I'm gonna go flash crazy trying other ROM's now. Just wondering if we could expect anything new from him is all. Thanks for the info though.
Dorimanx High End
Switch to Dorimanx High End Rom, best Rom imo, has best support by far, smooth, fast, and updated constantly.

No problem. Like you because there hasn't been a recent update, I have been trying other ROMs. So far, Tytung's Nexus HD2 v2.8 build the last couple of weeks has been very stable for me, similar to Pongsters but with even less battery drain. 3% battery loss vs. 5% battery loss on overnight standby. Also, actual app use, Tytung's build on my phone is about on average 50mA less than Pongsters. Though I do somewhat miss the CM configurations possible on Pongster's build. Both are great builds, but it again boils down to what you want on your phone. For me, solid GPS and Bluetooth are what I need and that is what Tytung brings to me. But Pongster's build is slightly more responsive and more configurable. Good luck flashing other ROMs. Let us know what you find out.
Right now I'm using D4RK MIUI V 4.0.1 by Zx The Ripper xZ. I hadn't tried a MIUI ROM before but I gotta say, I'm very impressed. I love the customization it offers, along the with overall look and feel. I had to go with ADW Launcher though, just because that's what I'm used to with HyperDroid. I get a full days worth of battery after calibration, and the integrated AGPS libs is a plus too. Tytung really knocked it outta the park with that one, and put our HD2's one step closer to becoming an almost full fledged native device. I'm gonna use it for a few days, and then I think I'll try Dorimanx High End Rom, and probably Tytung's Nexus HD2 after that, just because I know Tytung's stuff is always top notch. Theres so many choices, I'm just gonna have fun with it, and maybe try em all Thanks guys.
i read on a rom thread that the high battery drain for cm7 roms is related to the lockscreen and email.apk. if you delete email.apk and chose another lockscreen than default the battery drain should be gone. but i didn't try cause i'm on miui.
think this was written in the dorimax rom thread.

Almost all non GB-Sense ROMs are 100% functional and good for daily use. GB Sense ROMs are also supposedly good for daily use but I personally find them quite glitchy and slow (try them anyway, you may be able to tolerate this). I use Typhoon CM7 as it's fast, efficient, and regularly updated with the latest features.
TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Nightly v3.7.3[2.3.7][A2SD][tytung r12.4v3]
I have been using these for my daily since around 2.4.something and love it, quick updates, fast as anything performance with pretty decent battery. I have everything turned on and am on one WiFi connection or another pretty much all day. Use it moderately for browsing, texting, phone, and gps and it lasts pretty much all day for me. Give it a shot, I bet you will be happy.
Oh yeah, I am sure you would be able to tell from the thread but there is no Sense or anything, pretty standard CM7 interface with ADWLauncher
I've tried many different ROMs over the last few weeks and finally arrived with TyphooN as well.
What I found more important is that from my experience, tytung's 12.3 (and newer) kernels are the only ones that have no or close to no audio quality issues, so I'd definitely opt for a ROM with tytung's kernel.
Check my signature. Has everything you asked for on this thread
I´m also on TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 for a long time now.
Very stable and fast, good battery live time
I am using Hd2 Ndt ginger ginger rom , its very fast and stable with go launcher
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013852
After first boot
All task killed free ram 240 - 260 mb
And quadrant benchmark score 1265
Antutu benchmark score 2561
And very good battery life
I can play 3d games .
I like it may you try

Hyperdroid is tha bomb.
Thanks for answers
Will see what i land on finally.. I can see i have a few more to test =))
I have used TyphooN_CM7 and Desire HD Ace, these two roms on my hd2.
one is original android and one is with sense...
I think you can try these two roms,
Any flavor of Hyperdroid is tight. My best recommendation is try a few different roms out and seeing if you like one. If using it intensively is a big issue for you I would suggest that you don't install system heavy apps, i.e. Live wallpapers, crazy widgets that use system resources like weather or GPS. Keeping GPS and WIFI off until you need to access those services and changing the display brightness down a tad. There are plenty of threads on these issues and keep in mind that Android itself is a huge battery abuser, but it's so worth it. I use the above mentioned apps and still get a full day out of my phone as long as I don't spend hours at a time accessing them. Keeping a charger on hand at work also helps as well.
I´m using AmericanAndroid nand since first release and it´s very fast, good battery life 2mA in standby.
Hey Guys!
I am pretty new to the world of flashing ROMs, and am trying to experiment as much as I can! I recently rooted my phone (myTouch 4g) to escape the HTC Sense bloatware and kind of escape the gingerbread environment and use custom ROMs that people have developed. Of course, I've had my phone since 2010, and its been working great since. Not looking forward to getting a new phone anytime soon (it does what I want it to do well).
That being said, I currently am experimenting out CM7.2, was curious to hear what ROMs people who use the myTouch 4G as their daily drivers use. I am considering trying out one of the ported CM10.1 ROMs later tonight.
Looking forward to hearing from all of you guys!

Last Cyanogenmod 7 nightly.
I might also recommend Coderzs 4.2.2 Slimbean, Team Inferno's ShenduOS 4.2.1, or my AoCP 4.2.2 lol.
For ICS I recommend Synthetic Nightmare's AOSPx. Also I'm porting a CyanogenMod7 Type of rom, but with more features
Whatever I tried to install on it (including few JB-based ROMs) I always go back to CM7. Anything else is either less stable or uses battery or something is not working well (like camera on JB).

I use Albinoman's 8/24 build of AOSP 4.3 / CM 10.2. It has a few very minor issues but in daily use I find it's very stable...
too stubborn
Too stubborn to use CM7 I fought installing it and keep working with SlimBean 4.3 even though it is still buggy, well mostly for me. I should just back down to 4.22, but hmm here comes that stubborn issue.
I was on a small vacation, and now am about ~7 days till I move into my college dorm and start my college life. Here are few things I figured I should mention:
I am currently using the CM10.1 AOSP JellyBean ROM by albinoman887 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40665477), so far, its been awesome!
Though, there are few concerns about this ROM as a daily driver:
1. The battery life, it really does die out way too fast. It obviously is a concern for me, being in college, I would like to have something mobile and something that can last me an entire day without having to plug my phone into a charging unit. Of course, I was not expecting a perfect ROM for battery life that would be capable of running the latest Android, so all in all, the battery issue evens out, and should not be a shocker to anyone trying out the ROM.
2. I currently am running everything off of a 8GB Micro SD card, which is now full (I am waiting for my 32GB card to come in within the next few days), but when I do use apps such as SnapChat, or Instagram, it prevents me from using my camera with various errors every time. I suspect this to be the full SD memory card, I will make sure to post an update on this issue.
3. The ROM itself is FAST. I mean FAST. It really sets a definition of "multi-tasking" on the myTouch 4G.
There is a new September update for this ROM (I am going to install this update once I get my new SD card) and will also touch on how the update is, and what was resolved. As of right now, this ROM is beautiful, does require a bit of elbow geese to configure the settings to your likings, but that is the payoff.
I have tried CM7 briefly, escaped the ROM, its the most stable ROM anyone can ask for, but I personally don't want to go back to Gingerbread.
Thanks a lot XDA forums for allowing the opportunity to mess with our phones!
I bought myTouch 4g about 2 years ago. Sense Rom was installed for most of its lifetime; mysense (stock), Sense 3, then Sense 3.5, and now sense 4.1. Currently using ViperTouch 2.1.4 sense rom it is the most stable sense rom I found where all the hardware are functional. Battery life has not bad when keeping in 2G mode. I switch it to 3G with I need to browse something. Before ViperTouch I used CM 10.1 from albinoman887 for about 3 month to try out JB, it was really smooth and clean lightweight. I decided to go back to Sense after headphone heatup, camera and mic not working properly. I tried out CM 10.2 Android 4.3 albinoman887, it was smooth for the most part, but i couldn't use it as daily driver same 10.1 issues were resolved. So Sense 4.1 ICS is my current daily driver.

3. Signal drop after a missing call.
4. Camera flash delay.

Yes, but it's a little bit annoying so I'd go back to a bug-free version
And somehow the game I'm playing (Rage of Bahamut) doesn't display right in some screen.
Tried ShenduOS and everything looks great. Until I find the 'phone' is not working, lol.
Hey guys!
So, I have been rocking this current ROM for a while now! I must admit, I've had few problems recently, but so far it works and gets the job done. I am now in the process of debating if I should revert down to one of the most stable ROMs for this phone (CM7.2) or to continue rocking this current ROM and try to see if I can help in terms of fixing current issues.
My classes start tomorrow! I will post an in-depth update on my issues this weekend!

I was referring to how you are trying to fix the headset issue overall, not how you have any bugs in your roms.
Now I've been using PACman_GLACIER 19.3 for 2 weeks. Very stable, fast and no bug (except sometimes when it boots up, Link2SD notifies me to hot reboot to make SD partition mount)
You should check out the links in this thread.

Especially those of you who like ViperTouch. They are from a Chinese forum so you'll need to translate but the ROMs can be set to English on setup.
I might call it an end with my current ROM... it is currently becoming way too unstable for my abilities as a daily driver. Current issues include:
1. Battery life - I literally drop from 100% to 60% in a matter of 2 hours only using Wi-Fi for browsing the New York Times.
2. Phone screen flickers when locked (may be linked to battery life)
3. Certain apps that require a camera just do not cooperate
4. Green like in all pictures + picture quality not the same versus when the ROM was installed freash
5. Crashes and freezes a lot
Overall, this ROM was good, but as time progressed, its performance decreased as well.
Currently about to try Albinomans latest Jelly Bean ROM, or even try out the AoCP rom!
