I would recommend hyperdroid cm7 5.3.0 and nexushd2

Almost all non GB-Sense ROMs are 100% functional and good for daily use. GB Sense ROMs are also supposedly good for daily use but I personally find them quite glitchy and slow (try them anyway, you may be able to tolerate this). I use Typhoon CM7 as it's fast, efficient, and regularly updated with the latest features.

TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Nightly v3.7.3[2.3.7][A2SD][tytung r12.4v3]
I have been using these for my daily since around 2.4.something and love it, quick updates, fast as anything performance with pretty decent battery. I have everything turned on and am on one WiFi connection or another pretty much all day. Use it moderately for browsing, texting, phone, and gps and it lasts pretty much all day for me. Give it a shot, I bet you will be happy.
Oh yeah, I am sure you would be able to tell from the thread but there is no Sense or anything, pretty standard CM7 interface with ADWLauncher

I've tried many different ROMs over the last few weeks and finally arrived with TyphooN as well.
What I found more important is that from my experience, tytung's 12.3 (and newer) kernels are the only ones that have no or close to no audio quality issues, so I'd definitely opt for a ROM with tytung's kernel.

Check my signature. Has everything you asked for on this thread

I´m also on TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 for a long time now.
Very stable and fast, good battery live time

I am using Hd2 Ndt ginger ginger rom , its very fast and stable with go launcher
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013852
After first boot
All task killed free ram 240 - 260 mb
And quadrant benchmark score 1265
Antutu benchmark score 2561
And very good battery life
I can play 3d games .
I like it may you try

Hyperdroid is tha bomb.

Thanks for answers
Will see what i land on finally.. I can see i have a few more to test =))

I have used TyphooN_CM7 and Desire HD Ace, these two roms on my hd2.
one is original android and one is with sense...
I think you can try these two roms,

Any flavor of Hyperdroid is tight. My best recommendation is try a few different roms out and seeing if you like one. If using it intensively is a big issue for you I would suggest that you don't install system heavy apps, i.e. Live wallpapers, crazy widgets that use system resources like weather or GPS. Keeping GPS and WIFI off until you need to access those services and changing the display brightness down a tad. There are plenty of threads on these issues and keep in mind that Android itself is a huge battery abuser, but it's so worth it. I use the above mentioned apps and still get a full day out of my phone as long as I don't spend hours at a time accessing them. Keeping a charger on hand at work also helps as well.

I´m using AmericanAndroid nand since first release and it´s very fast, good battery life 2mA in standby.

HTC Evo Roms....your favorites and why...

ok so I am somewhat new to roms on the HTC Evo. I have only now rooted my phone and am currently running Cyanogenmod 6.0.0. So far I have no complaints, and I do like how much faster/smoother it runs due to not having a ton of sense applications running and using all of the memory. It is the only rom I have really used other than stock. so I am wanting to know what are some good rom's to try out (and which one is the best out there) and why do you use it or like them. I am also looking to get better battery life and as far as I know I have turned off/done all of the fixes to get the maximum battery life. Thanks again, and I will be looking forward to hearing from you guys. thanks again.
Fresh ROM, because it works flawlessly, stable, and lightweight. Excellent battery life. Relatively frequent updates. 2nd choice is CianogenMod, but it is a little restrictive, and I had a few small problems with it.
wow over 100 views and no one wants to add anything lol. I may have come to the wrong forums.....I am looking for roms, the good, the bad and the ugly. I am currently using Cyanogenmod 6.0.0 and have used fresh 3.3. Other than, that, only used stock. Which roms are good for battery life.....which ones are good for smoothness and speed lol. come on I know there are a bunch of guys with Evo's out there. help out a newbie.
CM6 for my main ! its simple fast stable
AVA9 for a sense rom its pretty flawless ! great battery life !
Fresh ROM ... Hey its fresh what more is there to say
Fresh roms are great, I am currently running Calkulin's 1.4 with riptide theme and love it.

I've never used AVA9 but you say the battery life is great, is it better or equal to CM6 or fresh?
My personal favorite is Fresh as well, but AVA is a close second and my current ROM.
I want to like cyanogen a lot but without 4G it's pretty useless to me.

ok very cool. I really like CM6 due to it's simplicity but battery life could be better on my end. I seem to get better battery life on Fresh but then again, I am using whatever kernel's come with CM6 and fresh.
I was running Fresh 3.3 from and the previous Fresh 3.xx. I like the sense UI so I tried out AVA 9. Both have been great, super fast compared to stock and battery life has been far better than stock.
Awesome devs and awesome roms I'll just may end up trying them all

Virus has the best ROMs out there so far. He makes two ROMs, Sense and Senseless, and both have remarkable battery life. Also, everything on his ROMs work. Try him out, you will not be dissapointed.

He makes damn fine roms I wouldn't say they are the best. But they are dam good
From the fade
So far my favorite is Ava. I am getting great battery life(I have my own thread reporting my battery life) and I actually like sense. I used CM6 but I got kind of bored. I probably didn't use it the way it should, but still. I was not impressed with the battery life either.
am i only one who actually like MIUI rom? there are some problems but i actually like it
EViO by Caulkin is the best, by far.
Currently using CM6 just because I like AOSP android more than sense but out of all the sense roms my favorite would have to be Fresh.
Myn's twopointwo is just sex on wheels, err, evo. More than enough said.

BEST COMBINATION-Effective perfomance

Hi Guys
I would like to inform you guys I have found best perfomace build+kernal
I have tried various builds with various kernals for last couple of weeks.either I had battery drainage or stoppage or data corruption or laggy problems
Finally best one I tried is
MDJ_FroYo_HD_v._4.6_MDJ_S78.0 with update.kernel.hastarin.16.12.2010.Works perfect. battery usage is great to be honest with you better than window ROM and less laggy. no corrupted data or sudden stoppages.
Try guys.I bet this will be the best combination built I have ever tried.
Thanx Mdeejay and hasterin
what about RAM based built mdjay....?
And what's up with radio, sd-card, wm rom and such stuff?
Pretty subjective post and not really helpfull.
My radio 2.15
windows version 3.14
latest window version from HTC
first downloaded mdeejays and then extracted
then downloaded latest kernal from hasterin then copied into andriod .
thats it.best performance
imho its a useless post.
Best performance is very subjective
Besides , speaking of performance , ram version roms are on top , and thats not subjective
Spb TV does not work though. Have you tried it?

I am heavy user with lots of wiget running plus data is always on .Having fully charged in the morning,it lasted all day without single charge. But other builds lasted only couple of hours.forget about SPB TV. you will always find some app will not work on any builts even in native android.but What i am saying is about good perfomance. try it feel it.just small piece of advice try before say something.

how long did you try the build until you reached your conclusion. 30min? 1hr? day? all builds work different for some people than others depending on winrom, radio, kernel, sdcard, apps installed, etc...
So what is it? whats the best build combo?Cause it seems to me that nothing is complete? Don't get me wrong their are some talented people here doing putting some incredible builds together and Ive tested a lot of them, but still cant seem to find that one build that could be used for long term daily use.Has any one else?
Ive searched a lot of threads and tried a lot of suggestion and not any real luck
what im using now seems to be pretty good but at times i have location and data drops and no mms.
I am using mccm 3.4 for weeks now without any problem. Other builds would crap out on me after few days of use. Just saying.

I have CR192 DESIRE HD as winmo rom, radio 2.15.50 and I'm running motoman evo carbon remix .06 and I have a great performing setup, I usually unplug my phone around 3am to go to work and by the time I go to bed around 8pm I usually still have around 15% on moderate use. I've been using this setup with a couple of different motoman builds as a daily driver for 5 weeks without using winmo at all. Honestly is all on phone to phone basis. No matter how much you try the same setup might not work the same for two different phones. The hardware is not 100% identical on every phone, that's why it never behaves the same, that's why there's always people saying they're having an issue while others aren't.
So pretty much I'm saying that while you think your setup is the best, others might not have the same result as you.
what a horrible thread, lol
anyways, i dont have the crazy amount of times to test multiple builds and you probably got your findings wrong
i am using MDJ 4.6 Desire HD and its good, but not great
it has its flaws and issues
today I just got a corrupted SD card with many files with weird names in them
i have tested the Darkstone RAM build, didnt like anything without Sense
i have tested MIUI , its blazing fast but the fact that it looks like iphone, bleh
your statements are subjective and totally unmeasurable
Why is this in the dev section?
Sent from my HTC bravo using XDA App
Well the intention behind the thread is alright..Anyways, I am testing Gingerbread RAM V1.0 by MDJ and am getting less than 1% battery drain/hour which is the best I have experienced in 3months of trying various builds and it's rooted so SetCPU works. However, lots of other apps including Facebook are not working..I guess in time MDJ will show the way..
And I have 2.15 Radio, HTC latest ROM and HSPL
Mccm3.4 and mdj4.6 with non-newest-hastarin kernels are two build I will vouch for as daily drivers.
But no build is as reliable as a build with a .zip backup of itself on internal memory for speedy unzipping to sdcard.
I am running darkstones superram 1.5 now and loving it, and am looking forward to mdj's ram gingerbread rc5 when it comes out tonight or tomorrow.
On all these builds I named I see '6-9ma' standby battery drain a lot, 19ma sometimes.
i am using Motoman234_Desire_PCB_Sense_V1.0 work perfect all software work and installed fast and stable good back up
Anougher opinionated thread, this might work for you but might not be so good for someone else, its mostly down to personal preffrence but if you want a good Desire HD build then yeah its a good combo
Fishing for the best build
to begin with i have used radio 2.15.50 with wwe 3.14 original rom htc update, battery drainage was too high on windows and also android build,80% was the ram usage.so i have downgraded to wwe 1.66 and only upgraded the radio 2.15.50.i have been using MDJ REVOLUTION HD WITH HASTARIN 8.5.3 and its brilliant for daily usage.with moderate use, battery life is excellent.to me this is the best combination.i have also tried all other builds but i remained with this one.because its brilliant with animations and the lot.
one of our member has started this thread just to find out what he can use for his phone without trying other builds, because its easier for him to find out this way rather than doing himself.its not that he managed to find the best combination,HIS FISHING FOR THE BEST COMBINATION FROM THE OTHER MEMBERS.he will probably say he has tried all the other builds)
Not too be pee'ing you guys against the leggs.. but i'm using the same config now. for about 5 days and omfg.. this one really works! battery stands for a whole day while data always on. ( with gps always on about 14 hours before its drained )
no dropouts, no bull**** with ppp. no legs en a pretty good bench points.

Smoothest Rom + Battery Drainage Very Low

Sorry guys to open the classic topic about roms, but I've tried a lot of them without finding one able to achieve a good place in my top 3. Can you suggest me a very smooth rom (like iOS) with a very low battery usage? Thank you

Well simply put;
Compaired to the MDJ CM7 and Cotulla's Stock Rom all roms I've tested this month(about 5) are laggy, slow, have errors(applications stop working and that kind of stuff) and some don't even start. Therefor I was also thinking about creating a topic like this one, simply because it is a pain to find a good one out here these days...
No disrespect on the cooks,.. Your all hero's!

the only rom ive personally got running as smooth as my mother's ipad, dads iphone 3gs, or brothers iphone 4, is hyperdroid gbx. it runs actually fastER than both iphones in side by side comparisons (angering my family), and about the same as the ipad in overall smoothness. battery is phenominal, the only rom ive gotten to last all day with my heavy usage i like to play with my phone a lot (for standby 3-5ma depending on apps running)
3 mA in standby on desireZ 3.5
I think that's the winner
also I wouldnt dare to say it is not smooth or smth
I've also tried few ROMs and for me the best one is Rafdroid HD 3.1 Lite edition (without ext partition on SD). Everything works smooth out of the box.

The best ROM for NAND I've come across. HyperDroid GBX
It is extremely light. only 60MB installation zip
It is extremely fast and responsive
It has great battery life.
I used the phone extensively for about 16 hours (all day) with about an hour of calls, around 30 SMS' some EDGE usage, a lot of wifi usage at home. It was still at 70% by the end of the day! If that isn't amazing, I don't know what is
Manages around 2-5mA in standby.
Oh and any way I can get AmeriCanDroid on NAND? :O
I miss cyanogenmod
Thanks for your support! What a great community!

Moto-Mytouch4G. I've been using it for a month and its beautiful. The only one I've tried where the battery last the day for me. Very smooth very well laid out. Great nand!!!
My choice is Rafdroid 3.1 with ext4 partition. In stand by mode I have 2-4 mAh...
I think, best ROM is MDJ Cyanogenmod 7,smooth and most battery saver ROM what I have tested with lot of settings.
IMO, this is by FAR the best/smoothest build out. I've tried many, and this ROM is the baddest of all. The battery consumption is better, and all around functionality is good.

[Q] Where is Pongster?

Haven't seen anything new since Hyperdroid CM7 2.1.0, which was released going on 2 months ago now, and GBX V12 before that. Just wondering if he's moved on to something else, and if we should be expecting anything new anytime soon. I don't want to give up on Hyperdroid, but if Pongster's gone, I guess it will be time to move on to something new
I guess you didn't realize he has a new baby either on the way or already here and a regular job to contend with. Pongster's build is pretty stable if you ask me. Just uses more battery than other ROMs that I have used on my phone.

No, I didnt realize that, and after searching through his ROM forums, didnt see anything about it and gave up searching. His ROM is more than stable though and I love it. I get up to 18 hr's a day of battery on normal usage, with a couple tweaks too though. Its the only ROM I've been using since I first tried his GBX V2.0, but if he's taking time off to handle personal stuff then I'm gonna go flash crazy trying other ROM's now. Just wondering if we could expect anything new from him is all. Thanks for the info though.
Dorimanx High End
Switch to Dorimanx High End Rom, best Rom imo, has best support by far, smooth, fast, and updated constantly.

No problem. Like you because there hasn't been a recent update, I have been trying other ROMs. So far, Tytung's Nexus HD2 v2.8 build the last couple of weeks has been very stable for me, similar to Pongsters but with even less battery drain. 3% battery loss vs. 5% battery loss on overnight standby. Also, actual app use, Tytung's build on my phone is about on average 50mA less than Pongsters. Though I do somewhat miss the CM configurations possible on Pongster's build. Both are great builds, but it again boils down to what you want on your phone. For me, solid GPS and Bluetooth are what I need and that is what Tytung brings to me. But Pongster's build is slightly more responsive and more configurable. Good luck flashing other ROMs. Let us know what you find out.
Right now I'm using D4RK MIUI V 4.0.1 by Zx The Ripper xZ. I hadn't tried a MIUI ROM before but I gotta say, I'm very impressed. I love the customization it offers, along the with overall look and feel. I had to go with ADW Launcher though, just because that's what I'm used to with HyperDroid. I get a full days worth of battery after calibration, and the integrated AGPS libs is a plus too. Tytung really knocked it outta the park with that one, and put our HD2's one step closer to becoming an almost full fledged native device. I'm gonna use it for a few days, and then I think I'll try Dorimanx High End Rom, and probably Tytung's Nexus HD2 after that, just because I know Tytung's stuff is always top notch. Theres so many choices, I'm just gonna have fun with it, and maybe try em all Thanks guys.
i read on a rom thread that the high battery drain for cm7 roms is related to the lockscreen and email.apk. if you delete email.apk and chose another lockscreen than default the battery drain should be gone. but i didn't try cause i'm on miui.
think this was written in the dorimax rom thread.

What ROM do you recommend?

Hey guys,
Im looking for a ROM for my HTC HD2.
(Android of course)
It should run pretty stable, have as few glitches as possible, preferably not drain my battery but still run powerful.
I know there are overclocked ones and the battery saving ones.
Apart from that it should definately look nice.
I like the UI of this one but oddly enough this won´t work on my HD2, no idea why.

gingerbread roms like hyperdroid, nexushd2 and typhoon is what I would recommend. They are fast and smooth, but to decide which one, you will have to try them all It takes time to decide.. I have been flashing since 2009 ^^

Really? You've limited yourself to CM7 ROMs (e.g. Typhoon, Hyperdroid), MIUI ROMs (e.g. NDT) and Android 4.0 ICS. I think you mean it must be Gingerbread, not 2.3.7. Also, have you tried the search button or tried out ROMs? Hundreds of threads exactly the same as this exist and the only way to find a ROM you like is to try it out for yourself. If you wanted to see which ROM is most popular, just look at the number of views the thread has.
My personal recommendation? Typhoon CM7, runs perfectly and is everything you're looking for
i ran RafDroid HD for the longest time and it's my fall back if the other ROMS i'm running give me trouble, it's fast and silky smooth and works great for me.

Try any of the MIUI stable builds, they are rock solid and light on the battery.
like those by NDT, JW or the one called PATs MIUI sense like.
here's a link for a start

Hmm in my experience MIUI roms are more battery draining usually than straight cm7 based ones.
MIUI is nice for sure but a matter of taste.
most ROMs are stable and don't drain battery. Miui, CM7, or Froyo Sense ROMs. I had killer battery life on Miui ROMs.
don't know much about 2.3 Sense, 4.0 sucks now
