Oh my god! Looks like you got one of the rare batch of organic nexii! Features Include hair growth, facial recognition, hearing and speech.

If there is lint or dust there, please don't use compressed air to try and blow it out. That can blow it into the N7 and/or under the screen. Gentle suction or a soft brush would work better.

No I m serious... I removed them.... But some hair were stuck under the plastic back cover.

Sure its hair or could be some kind of sintetic fiber ?

[DIY][TEMP FIX][TAPE] Disable Capacitive Lights!

Was tired of using screen filter with our ridiculously bright capacitive lights so I tried somthing new, I put a thin strip of electrical tape over the buttons and they still work beautifully. I especially like the rubber feel to the buttons and I'm sure if you put more effort than I did you could probably make stickers with symbols out of electrical tape. I know this probably should go in accessories but c'mon who really checks that often plus I know a lot of ppl have been complaining about the capacitive lights lateley.

That sounds neat, good idea! My only question is does it look jankety? Like did you use an X-acto knife to cut the tape to match the curved bezel? Gotta see them pics

Case advice. Looking for a support thin case. Any ideas?

OK so I've never used a case on any phone I've every owned because I've always hated how thick they were and made it impossible to fit in a belt style holster. Now however I definitely need one since the speaker is on the back making the phone impossible to watch videos or do anything with audio while laying the phone down. So I'm looking for something that's as thin add possible while also having a kick stand of some sort... Any ideas?

I heard the seidio case cases scratches on the bezel so u would have to put tape on the bezel to prevent the scratching. It also scratched their screen.

Has anyone provided pictures to support this? I only saw one person mention this in the Seidio thread but after people asked for more info and pictures he disappeared.

I didn't disappear. I threw the case in the trash before taking any pictures, mea culpa. I do have the holster which is nice. If you don't believe me please go for it, but it. will. scratch. your. phone. Just wait till the active case comes out. It looks nice and seems the inner layer is all silicone which is much more friendly on your phone than the plastic. The problem is, you just aren't going to find a hard slim case that wont scratch your phone unless the entire thing has a soft rubber inside, is tight in the case, and doesn't use any sort of sliding mechanism to fit together. It's the friction and whatever debris is in there that causes the scratching... on the glass. The plastic bezel is very soft. Doesn't take much to scratch it. Dust under a TPU case can scuff up the phone too, but not like the surface. You can use a TPU case with the surface. Looks fine and works great.
Just for your enjoyment... I did some dumpster diving through my kitchen trash can, but my wife took that trash out already. Got my arms full of meat juice, spit, eggs, and other nasty crap just to show that I'm not a troll, but the bag is apparently in the big can in the garage. Maybe I'll take some pics of that just to prove that I have the case. I have no axe to grind with Seidio. I've spent hundreds on their products. They just don't make a good surface case for the nexus 4. I just don't want people to damage a hard to find phone and in the process, waste $60ish hard earned on a product that does more damage than it protects.
Jayrod is not a troll and anything he says I believe he has helped me with countless things on here
Ewww man

Thanks for the recommendation mate, but that's not quite what I'm looking for. I mean I love that it can be a kickstand but I don't like the look of a folder clip looking thing on the back of my phone. ;(
I'm looking for something slim and thin as possible but has the option to prop my device up. Something like this but for the Nexus 4:

Check out the Poetic Palette or Diztronic Hardshell. I have reviews on both. I would personally recommend the Palette.

Zagg and a case. What do you use?

Ive been doing a lot of reading and havent seen too much in depth talk about the n4 with a zagg and case. Seems like every case i get bubbles my zagg around the edges as they currently dont have a "case friendly" one. Ive used zaggs for a long time and i really dont want to switch to anything else but this is getting frustrating and expensive. lol. So with that what cases are you guys using with a zagg?
no one uses a zagg with a case these days? :silly:
Zagg is a complete rip-off. I use XtremeGuard and a diztronic case. You'll love it.

Just buy some front and back screen shields and you'll be good to go. That's what i did and i use the body glove nova case. HIGHLY recommend it. By far my favorite case and no bubbling

Zagg with Google bumper case seems to be right combination, doesn't disturb edges at all.

I am quite satisfy with zagg and i may try another protector someday. But for now, it protects my phone perfectly.
I am using zagg with an Acase which I also wrote a review already. You may find it in this 4rum.

It's a matter of patience. I hate putting on screen protectors. I really do. I started from the top to align the earpiece, proximity sensor and front camera. And when you use the case, you have to wedge the phone in so the case won't lift up the protector. If your case has a lip around the edges that will help a lot.

Chrome bezel = crap

Anyone else have scratches on the chrome bezel? I've owned 3 nexus 4s and can't seem to keep the bezel from getting scratches. My screen and everything else is mint but the bezel might as well be made of whatever it is this the most scratch prone material on earth.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Have you tried getting a bumper case of a regular case? The bezel is not scratch proof and that's why you keep getting it scratched.

ive had my n4 for 7 months, without any kind of protection on it, complete nude it is, and i dont have any scratches on the chrome bezel. and my phone gets a serious workout every day. which leads me to ask.. wtf are you doing to your phone???

The scratches actually all happened with the bumper on. I take care of my phone really well so I'm pretty sure dust got in between the bumper and phone and scratched it. It's more of a micro scuff than anything but I can still see it when I put it under a magnifying glass in a well lit room. Trust me you've got them too.

The bumper case is what caused them. It's way better off without a case.

The problem is the bezel is plastic, not actually any type of metal. Google really should have made the bezel metal and it would have really improved the phones feel and quality. I have a diztronic case and even though I've had it on the whole time there are still scratches on the bezel, just a bunch short, faint ones. The case feels quite sharp on the inner edge and I think its what is actually scratching my bezel.

if i have them, and i need a magnifying glass in a well lit room to see them, then im gonna assume the problem is something else, not the manufacturing of the phone.. ocd. and no case will fix that

You are right but I still believe the chrome bezel is the lowest quality part of the phone

You should try putting it under a microscope. You will see a lot more interesting imperfections. Seriously, just chill and enjoy your phone because after a while, you are not going to want it anymore. You are going to want one of the next latest and greatest phones.

You can't powder coat plastic. One, it is non-conductive, and two, it will melt in the curing process even if you could somehow get the material to stick. And the vacu-formed chrome will make it tough to paint.
One thing you could do is to put a satin finish on it with a little wet sanding with 400-800 grit sandpaper, being careful not to sand through the chrome. I just keep the OEM bumper on it and I don't see it.

The One's bezel is made of metal, the Nexus has a plastic one. That makes it much less prone to damage, and it feels nicer

Are you on crack!? (c;
The HTC has a polished "bevel" machined into the top edges of the aluminum.
The Nexus 4 has a plastic "bezel" trim piece, that is vacu-form plated like the chrome pieces of a plastic model car kit.

Yeah... iPhone users had the same complaints. Aluminum is fairly soft so some folks noticed scratches on the beveled edges. But I would think you'd need to pocket your phone with keys or loose change for that to happen.

Is it a new install? If so that could be the soapy water solution? Can you tell if it's dust? If it's the solution, you can wrap a credit card in a lint free cloth (microfiber) and squeegee the stuff out as much as you can.

It shouldn't matter too much, but you risk of the screen protector to rise up when dried. But try it out. They are XG's so you can get them pretty cheap.
Dude use scotch tape to remove debris.
