What to do when your
phone gets wet?
Try this tips when the mobile get
wet-
1.First thing remove the battery
as
soon as possible from mobile.
[Cause the power gets stopped
and
thus does not affect the circuit
and
board inside the mobile]
2.Dont forget to remove your sim
from the mobile unit.
[contains useful numbers]
3.Remove the panel and make the
phone to dry for 2-3 hours .
[ Use a paper as it helps to dry
quicker]
4. Place your mobile in bowl
containing rice [uncooked] 16-18
hrs.
[As this helps to dry out]
5.place your mobile in a plastic
pouch with silica
[comes with almost all electronic
goods, as it sucks the water]
Note-Don't use any sort of hair
dryers / hot objects as these may
lead to damage in the board/
battery
may explode.
Try to reach your mobile service
provide if warranty includes any
water damage then u get a
replacement.
Hope the above things works for
you.

don't ever continue using your phone that way, if you don't want to take a risk of having an expensive paperweight. Remove the battery cover and battery and put your phone in a jar completely full of rice. (phone should be completely submerged and you should also seal the jar) keep it that way until all the moisture is gone. (it can take a long time)
would that work? ive got it on the window seal at the moment in the sun. how long would you say it would take, days?

I would be careful leaving your phone in the sun, you don't want to cook it - literally!
Damn, mind posting pics? just more reason not to bring my Leo to partys!
Apparently a team just released some interesting finds:
Paper batteries recharge from moisture in the air, seemingly defy laws of nature
that would be so AMAZINGLYAWSOME!!! if they ever make it into public distros

Can you imagine only needing to have your phone be exposed to moisture (through the air or maybe dripping some on the battery in drier climates)? You'd never run out of battery power and it would be so environmentally conscious because we're not using heavy metals like lithium!
if i happen to be in the desert, without a battery for 200 KM away from the nearest power outlet
i can just spit or pee on it to keep the phone running to call for help

Definitely just cracked up when I read this. Its true..."Help, I peed on my phone and I need someone to come get me from the desert!"
Now imagine installing this battery on an iPhone, which has anti-moisture sensors. Hahaha
Hello I expose you a problem that a friend of me encountered.
Look both picture first guys and you could tell me if this is from sun exposure, drop, acid or anything else please?

My friend don't know from where this came... She have to Chinese wallet case bought on ebay. Could be the problem? Or its from the sun exposure damage? Just the corner got damage from this and seems like more acid no?
And if the warranty could make something from this for a replacement because if it's from the sun exposure at 30°c the phone isn't far of being a ice cream...
Thanks for your opinion guys.
Hope someone could clear me about this
Looks a drop to me. This is not caused by heat bro Is (most likely) not covered by warranty, maybe insurance will cover it.
+1 for a drop...
That's 100% user damage ! ( Dropped / lighter / cigarette burn )
What are you talking there about sun damage ? LOL
Okay, thanks you guys to clearing me about this. I'll report to my friend about her phone.
Opened up an old PC on a stick to see what I could do to improve wireless signal and ended up breaking off what appears to be a part of the wifi antenna however I have no idea what it is correctly called, a few google searches and I come up short. I want to know what the part is called so that hopefully I can find out how to reattach it.
The part looks like a gold color pin that pushes in, sort of like a micro plunger. When the case is put back together there is a metal plate on the case that makes contact with this pin to create an antenna of sorts.
I would just solder it back on but I can't make out any metal contact left to solder to on the spot where it broke off from.

Howdy mate,
That's a surface mount pogo pin, Lson is a company that makes them, you could probably salvage one if you could find an old car kit or phone charger from the late 90's. You could also replace it with a piece of springy steel from a battery terminal but that might affect the antenna wavelength.
Tetsuo
Thank you!
That is exactly correct

What will you neeed to complete this task?
1. LG G3
2. Solder gun
3. 60/40 rosin core leaded solder
4. A small amount of patience
Picture below shows where you need to place new solder points. They are just right in the red circle.

Solder should look like 2nd one counting from right, about 1/2 shorter and bit flatter.

Now it is time to reseat pins height since they will need to stick to new solder point. I marked for you those pins and all you need to do is raise them a little bit, not too much or they will break apart, just do it gently.

THE END
If you did it properly your GPS fix should be much faster and more accurate than ever.
